The 1975 performed “Chocolate” at the Woodies, and our hearts will never be the same.

If Sean from “Boy Meets World” or Johnny Depp anytime ever have taught us anything, it’s that nothing can defeat the power of the almighty hair-flip. Well, The 1975 might have just rendered that scientifically accurate statement null and void with their 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards performance of “Chocolate” tonight.

Despite all of frontman Matthew Healy’s follicular back-and-forths, his moodily yelped vocals mixed with the upbeat, yet morose, instrumental courtesy of Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald, and George Daniel was dreamy and unreal. Like, every time Matthew sang that “We’re never gonna quit it, no, we’re never gonna quit it, no” line while rolling his eyes, we, well… Let’s just say we would’ve been #FeelingIt even with the visuals turned off.

OK, so the hair-flips didn’t hurt either, whatever. It’s still no wonder that these dudes from Manchester took home the Breaking Woodie tonight.
