+ Congrats to all the 2014 mtvU Woodie Award winners! Bastille took home the Cover Woodie for their rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop,” Beyoncé scored the Did It My Way Woodie, and Ed Sheeran nabbed the Performing Woodie. Speaking of performances, the Woodies went H.A.M. with Lil Wayne crashing the stage, and Iggy Azalea, Childish Gambino, and The 1975 slaying their headlining-act duties. Missed any of the show? + Miley Cyrus and The Flaming Lips are recording a cover of The Beatles’ “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.” Lips’ frontman Wayne Coyne shared Instagram photos of Miley in the studio, and he also revealed that MGMT’s Andrew VanWyngarden is collaborating on the track as well. (Rolling Stone)
+ Congrats to Jamie Lynn Spears, who, according to E! News, married fiancé James Watson on Friday night in New Orleans. Big sister Britney Spears and her boyfriend, David Lucado, were in attendance. (MTV News)
+ Scott Asheton, the drummer of iconic punk rock band Iggy & The Stooges, died on Saturday. He was 64. “Scott was a great artist. I have never heard anyone play the drums with more meaning than Scott Asheton. He was like my brother,” frontman Iggy Pop wrote on Facebook. (Billboard)
