Smile though your heart is aching, bb!

All it takes is one song — the brooding duo known as Broods could tell you something about that. In just a few months’ time, the New Zealand-based brother-sister act have catapulted from local musicians to global indie-pop darlings on the rise, largely due to the buzzin’ over their debut single, “Bridges.” (Guilty as charged!)

After teaming up with Lorde’s trusty producer, Joel Little, Caleb and Georgia Nott carved out their deliciously moody, self-titled debut EP. Cue a major label signing, their first-ever showcases in L.A. and New York, and — BOOM! — overnight success.

While the two continue to work on their first LP, Broods have at last crafted a visual for the U.S. release of “Bridges” — and yes, they’re coming for your heartstrings.

The Jeppe Kolstrup and Aleksander Hørup-directed clip follows around a cute guy/girl pair of BFFs (who are not the bro/sis duo behind Broods, FYI) as they laugh and play all over town. They’re having pillow fights! They’re twirling in churches! They’re pretending to be vampires! Totes adorbz, right?

But, judging by those extended glances the guy keeps giving, it’s clear that someone’s catching feelings between these two. The song is titled “Bridges,” after all, so prepare to watch some kind of connection come tumbling down. (Also, watch for that dreamy smoke-filled room at the end that totally channels Lorde’s “Team” video.)
