While it's well-documented that Taylor Swift's songs are rooted in personal experiences, part of Swift's appeal is her ability to translate the intimate details of her life into witty, memorable lyrical turns of phrase.

With that in mind, it should come as no great shock that Taylor Swift will soon be creating a line of greeting cards.

Swift, who will be teaming up with American Greetings Corp. on the cards, said via a press release, "My idea of a great song is a song that says how I feel better than I could. I feel the same way about greeting cards."

Look for Swift's line of cards in the "Getting Over A Break Up," section (amongst other places) of your local greeting card emporium next spring.

Taylor Swift's silver-spangled guitar is a signature of the Country Music Award history-maker.

... But, the OUTRAGEOUSLY adorned microphone Bill Kaulitz used during Tokio Hotel's MTV Europe Music Awards last week was over-the-top, even by Lil Jon standards.

Bill Kaulitz's mic, which says "Humanoid," was custom made (obviously), by British designers CrystalRoc, who whipped up two different knuckle duster mics for Bill, using platinum, crystal, and black diamonds for the recession-blind price of about £5000 each -- which comes to about $8,270 or €5,564. Are mics the new neckpieces?

Watch Tokio Hotel perform "World Behind My Wall" from the 2009 MTV Europe Awards to see the fancy mic in action, and decide whose bling is better -- Taylor and her silver guitar or Bill and his diamond mic.

When thinking of a word that describes John Mayer's fourth album, Battle Studies, the first one that jumps to mind is "transparency." Not only is Battle Studies full of the sort of confessional, emotionally transparent songs we've come to expect from Mayer, but the album's creation itself was a transparent process.

Mayer frequently updated his frequently amusing Twitter (@johncmayer) with Twitpics and info about the recording process of Battle Studies; letting fans in on everything from the construction of the studio to the selection of the cover art.

So it's only fitting that, in the spirit of transparency, Battle Studies is now available in its entirety, a week before its November 17th release.

Head on over to MTV's The Leak and listen to the delicate pop and crunching blues rock of John Mayer's new album, -- including his Taylor Swift duet, "Half of My Heart." It's there for all to hear. And, as a bonus, you watch the video for the album's first single, "Who Says" below.

While we're wrist deep into a pint of ice cream, napping off the working week, Taylor Swift will be GRINDING. Girl is pulling double duty at Saturday Night Live this week as both host and musical guest.

It's been quite a year for Taylor. She and the writers will have plenty of material to mine for sketches. It sounds like she's down for whatever, so here's 5 skits we'd love to see happen.

We Were Once A Fairytale, a short film collaboration between Kanye West and Spike Jonze, only recently came out (you can cop it on iTunes), but we're already starting to get some bonus materials.

Below, in the viral video of some behind-the-scenes action, Spike Jonze gets increasingly peeved at a text-addicted Kanye West, who's spending more time on his smart phone than listening to his director. Kanye gets slapped, and a nation of Taylor Swift fans rejoice. (Note -- We can all agree that violence is not okay, right? And that this video's just a joke? And that Kanye himself is probably in on it?)

UGH. I'm STILL SO MAD that someone PUNCHED SWEET, ANGELIC LEONA LEWIS. I'mma borrow one from Katy Perry, who reacted thusly when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift: "It's like you stepped on a kitten." Leona Lewis is a sweet lamb of a human being. And NO ONE deserves to slapped, except for maybe the balloon boy's father because he has such a douchey haircut. (And what kind of a name is Heene anyway? One that rhymes with WEENIE, actually. Ha!)

Anyway, here Leona Lewis just made a song (with the help of Ryan Tedder) about just WANTING TO BE HAPPY, and it's about how she can't even get the guy she's secretly in love with, and then she has to go watch him get married to some chick, and then SOMEONE HITS her? She's JUST TRYING TO BE HAPPY. GARRRH. I'M SO ANGRY I COULD BREAK MY MACBOOK AIR!

Okay. Strong Britney. Watch Leona Lewis' "Happy" video -- directed by Jake Nava ("Single Ladies," "She Wolf," "If U Seek Amy") -- off her upcoming album, Echo.

The 2009 MTV VMAs were exactly one month ago, and by now you've watched Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me" performance, sat in awe of Beyonce's "Single Ladies" performance and Pink's high-flying trapeze act, squirmed uncomfortably over Lady Gaga's big, bloody "Paparazzi" performance, had your face rocked by Green Day's "East Jesus Nowhere," and worshiped at the altar of Jay-Z's "Empire State Of Mind" (with Alicia Keys and that unexpected Lil Mama drama) more times than there are Kanye interruption memes. And you know all there is to know about the making of Janet Jackson's breathtaking tribute to Michael Jackson.

But there are still a few things you might not know about the 2009 MTV VMAs. Like...

+ How a shocked Taylor Swift got from Radio City to the New York City train for her performance.

+ How Madonna slipped into a VMA rehearsal undetected DURING LUNCH!

+ How Pink's performance of "Sober" required not just her amazing acrobatics but some amazing camerawork.

+ Who took Jay-Z's place before the show.

+ How Green Day turned fire into fans...

And more!

Watch "What You Didn't Know" to get an insider's look at Green Day's and Pink's VMA performances:

And after the jump, find out more about Madonna's speech, Russell Brand's comedy club workshop, and Jay-Z's "Empire State Of Mind" performance.

Welcome to Bummertown, population: Kanye West. How does the world not love him, let us count the ways.

Ever since the "Heartless" one interrupted teen queen Taylor Swift's moment of VMA glory he's really caught a bad one. First, his highly anticipated (if hard to imagine going off without a hitch) tour with Lady Gaga got canceled (we investigate like 60 Minutes here).

Then, after some erratic behavior had been reported here and there (and on, um... TMZ), Kanye skipped out on the BET Awards. The show, which was taped this past weekend, would've seemed like a logical place to find West, who was nominated for nine awards, but he was a no-show.

Now, in the wake of rumors that Yeezy has jetted off to India to find himself, dude's clothing line has been discontinued. His Pastelle line will apparently never see the light of day. (Or, it'll just haunt some dusty TJ Maxx racks.) Here's hoping for happier days for the dude. Despite what you might think of his personality/public displays of speech-making, he's still a much-needed voice out there in pop.

T-Swiz is going back to school. In this lilting, articulate, lovely little jam, Taylor Swift sings about the weight of the world that teenagers carry on their shoulders during those formative years.

Let's just get this out of the way now shall we? Yes, I fully expected (hoped?) Kanye was gonna burst on camera here at some point, grab the guitar and say, "TAYLOR, I'MMA LET YOU FINISH, BUT SIXTEEN IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FORMATIVE YEAR EVER." Rimshot.

With that obligatory joke out of the way, let's just enjoy this rather enjoyable tune from the album that just keeps on giving, Fearless. It's a more dreamy look for Taylor, as opposed to the goofy, teen-rom-com-style "You Belong With Me." And yes, that's really Taylor's real-life best friend, Abigail in the video.

This has been a crappy week to be both a music fan and a ticketholder. In the past week alone:

+ Kanye West and Lady Gaga's "Fame Tour" was canceled, causing anyone who knows, loves, and/or hates Kanye to wonder why: Kanye needs time for Kanye? Poor ticket sales? (I solidly CANNOT BELIEVE people wouldn't want to see Lady Gaga in concert after she practically disemboweled herself at the VMAs.)

+ Miley Cyrus came down with strep and canceled tonight's scheduled concert in Omaha. Boo! (But feel better, gurl!)

+ Then Paramore had to postpone their L.A. show yesterday because Haley Williams pulled her voice. Wah!

+ And, I'm not even kidding, The All-American Rejects had to cancel their scheduled this shows this weekend because poor Tyson Ritter's got a bum leg. Ugh!

Okay, first of all, I hope everyone feels better (and stops interrupting Taylor Swift or whatever). But all of these concert cancellations JUST SO HAPPENED to occur the same week as the International Olympic Committee decided which city would host the 2016 Summer Olympics. And if you read between the lines, you'll discover the REAL reason why Gaga and Kanye and Miley and Paramore and The All-American Rejects' shows were canceled! Don't believe the hype! It's all just a big conspiracy theory!

OBVIOUSLY Lady Gaga, Kanye, Miley Cyrus, Paramore, and The All-American Rejects are trying out for the Space Olympics... which have ALSO BEEN canceled. No idea what I'm talking about?
