He may have copped the silver medal in the American Idol Olympics, but David Archuleta is certainly a tried-and-true star. How do I know? Well, he has just gone through that great rite of passage that all successful singers eventually go through: he has released a Christmas album.

Christmas From The Heart is a nice run through some Christmasy hits ("Silent Night," "Joy To The World") as well as his famed take on "Ave Maria." No videos have been released for the holiday platter as of yet. But let's take a Christmas gander at a few Christmas music video tropes we're sure Archuleta will avoid:

+ Kenny G.'s "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" -- Two words: Soprano saxophones. Two more words: HELL NO.

+ Destiny's Child's "8 Days Of Christmas" -- Sexy Santa's helper costumes were kinda okay on Beyonce, to be avoided at all costs on Archie. (Though a Santa hat may or may not be fine.)

+ *NSYNC's "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays" -- Justin Timberlake in "rockin' elf gear" was bad enough. But Gary Coleman? Pass.

Yay? Nay?

In her brand-new MTV Buzzworthy "The 5" interview, Brooke White confounds us with a medical mystery... she's got a twitch that doesn't sound life- threatening, but in my semi-professional opinion, she should get an MD to take a look at that. Or at least administer an official diagnosis via Twitter.

Thankfully poor Brooke's poor guitar finger is at least on the the road to recovery. And along with discussions of mild medical conditions, the American Idol Season 7 contender (she shared a stage with David Cook and Lil Archuleta!) shares more about her new album, High Hopes & Heartbreak (not to be confused with 808s And Heartbreaks), which she released on her own label, with production by Randy Jackson,

While Brooke gives no mention of American Idol in her interview (she was the one who had never seen an R-rated movie, or something?), she does offer some interesting tidbits about the recording process, childhood musical memories, and a somewhat comical phobia.

Finally, Brooke plugs her latest single, "Radio Radio," and you should take her word on this: it's summery, folky,  and alt-country -- a little comfort in these hectic times.

+ The feud between Mariah Carey and Eminem has just escalated to new levels. Now the rapper is threatening to release nude photos of the megastar, supposedly from when they were together. (US Magazine)

+ Jessica Simpson has a new reality show coming out on VH1 and she's got some people pretty pissed about her extravagant spending habits. (Pop Crunch)

+ Panic At The Disco have finally announced replacements for the two members who left the group earlier this month. (NME)

+ Leona Lewis is pulling out all the stops for her sophomore album due out this fall, working with the likes of Justin Timberlake, Ryan Tedder, Timbaland and more. (Rap-Up)

+ So the story is true: Michael Jackson did get busy with some Norwegian girl and had a son who is now 25 years old. (Socialite Life)

+ Buzzcrush David Archuleta recently covered Colbie Caillat's "Bubbly" and it sounds simply divine. (Neon Limelight)

Virginia indie-pop band My Favorite Highway made a name for itself without a label push -- a name as in 100,000-plus in digital sales -- and while a record deal is usually the pot o' gold, it's nice to know you can make it without them.

That's not to say the gigs always flowed freely for this crew; they still recall playing venues in meth lab-ville. But come on -- that just indicates a band with the ultimate band experience -- and is part of why My Favorite Highway is totally Buzzworthy Obsession-worthy. (And I swear I won't just talk about the hot drummer ... although I am following his Twitter now.)

If the self-made story's not enough for you, know that the debut video from My Favorite Highway, "Say So," is a tribute to Ferris Bueller's Day Off -- which sold me faster than you can say "Rooney!"

I also love "Say So" because it's the ultimate in solid melody-writing: With clear vox from lead singer David Cook (uh, yeah... I'm not saying he should have changed his name, but I wonder if he voted for Archuleta...), listening to "Say So" is just a sing-along, top-down good time.

And yes, this video and My Favorite Highway's album, How to Call a Bluff , have some extra shekels thanks to backing by Virgin Records, but the new record's not all that different than the one the boys self-released in July 2008. There was a little re-mastering involved, and the addition of two new songs "Go" and "Dreamer," but David's songwriting got play on The Hills and The City on its own merits.

And no more meth den appearances for this crew! The guys are currently touring with The Cab and will team up with HelloGoodbye in August. My Favorite Highway also recently confirmed a few opening dates in September with one, Kelly Clarkson. Sweet!

HEY, Paula Abdul fans. With the fate of Paula's future on American Idol slightly uncertain -- she's leaving! she's staying! She's hot! She's cold! This is starting to feel more and more like a Katy Perry song! -- one thing that's straight-up certain is that Paula just added some pieces of sparkle to her Home Shopping Network "Forever Your Girl" collection of jewelry and accessories.

And while Paula's February 2009 appearance on the Home Shopping Network was, um, pitchy, to say the least, she's going live on again on July 31 with new stuff.

All of Paula Abdul's HSN jewelry is under $100, and God knows it's (arguably) better than spending your money on Scrunchies, Ed Hardy tees, or Lindsay Lohan's Sevin Nyne tanner. However, Paula's jewelry may cause slurring, purring, "knowingness,"  your eyes to reorbit in their head, dancing like there's no tomorrow, and/or the overwhelming urge to grab David Archuleta and squish him, squeeze his head off, and dangle him from your rear-view mirror, and possible Corey Clark drama.

Check out photos of Paula Abdul's new HSN jewelry -- there's a silvery starburst, a cuff that looks like asphalt, and... the very sparkly thing below that I'm uncertain about -- and tell me: Would you wear Paula Abdul's jewelry?

UPDATE: Watch Demi Lovato's Buzzworthy Blog fan Q&A interview!

DEMI LOVATO IS COMING TO MTV! Demi is COMING! DEMI WILL BE HERE! She just got started on her Summer Tour with David Archuleta, and her upcoming album, Here We Go Again, is almost ready, but she's stopping by MTV on Wednesday, June 24th, and she'll be answering Buzzworthy Blog fan questions. What do you want to ask Demi? (Besides everything?)

Leave your questions in the comments section below, and I'll try to ask Demi when she's here on Wednesday!

Today's news that Jeff Archuleta -- father of Buzzworthy idol David Archuleta -- was arrested for soliciting a sex act at a not-really-focused-on-relieving-your-back-pain massage parlor was nothing short of completely shocking and extremely sad. We're extremely protective of our little Arch Angel and wish him lots of love and... whatever else you wish a person when they (and the whole world) find out that their Mormon dad got busted for a happy ending. By the cops.

With that, here are five more celebrity dads who will absolutely give me another heart attack if I find out they went to an "unlicensed spa."

KEVIN JONAS, SR.
Paul Kevin Jonas, Sr., father of Kevin, Joe, Nick, and Frankie is a former pastor and manages his sons' career (they're in a band called "the Jonas Brothers") which is a full-time job. Also, I've met the man, and he's a saint. I JUST KNOW in my happy little heart that Kevin Jonas, Sr. is just not capable of such indiscretions. It's just impossible.

BILLY RAY CYRUS
Miley's "Thrill Billy" daddy does have the whole out-of-wedlock thing on his side (come on! it was the free-wheelin' '90s!), and then there was the Vanity Fair/ almost-naked pix thing, but he's still a true family man who's biggest crime, in my opinion, is the highlights.

PETE WENTZ
Pete Wentz already aired all of his dirty laundry (and more!) before he settled down with Ashlee Simpson, who cranked out super-cuters Bronx. And even though he's hung with the occasional stripper, he's got a totally hot piece at home. Plus, they're one of those couples who sorta looks like they do it all the time. VIVA LA SIMPSON-WENTZES!

CLAY AIKEN
Clay Aiken is far too busy... wait, what's Clay Aiken doing these days? Oh, going to the airport! Anyway, yay! He has a cute baby! Yay!

CHARLIE SWAN
BELLA'S DAD commit a crime? PUH-LEASE! What crime could the CHIEF OF POLICE OF FORKS possibly commit? I mean, sure, he's sometimes a little emotionally unavailable, and he can't cook to save his life, and true, he's still a bit hung up on his ex-wife, but you CANNOT say that  Charlie Swan doesn't love his daughter. Probably the only crime Charlie Swan is guilty of is BEING BORN A HUMAN.

+ Now, speaking of fathers and crimes, watch George Michael's "Father Figure" video.

+ For all two people who haven't heard this devastating news, darling dollface David Archuleta's DAD (who is also a MORMON, in case you forgot) was busted for soliciting prostitution at a massage parlor in Utah. <using our spa voices>: P.S. —  Looks like he got a "happy ending" too.  This makes up for anything our parents never got us for Christmas. (MTV News)

+ Guess who's gracing the cover of Elle magazine's July music issue: none other than the always lovely and forever glamorous Gwen Stefani. Va va va VOOM! (Popbytes)

+ Miley Cyrus was out for a little seafood dinner when she gave an impromptu performance, much to the crowd's surprise! They begged for more, but she made her exit after two songs. (E! Online)

+ Jack White hates MySpace and wants you to go to the record store and buy his friggin' vinyl... (The Tripwire)

+ ...which is probably a good idea since MySpace just laid off like 400 people (about 30% of its workforce). YIKES! Think I should cancel that interview I have next week? (All Things Digital)

+ Nick Lachey says he's never heard unlikely singer Susan Boyle actually sing. Hm. Sounds like Nick needs to take a trip on them Interwebs those lazy crazy kids are usin' these days. (US Magazine)

+ De-gorgeous Taylor Swift performed at the 2009 CMA Music Festival yesterday and took to Twitter beforehand to thank her fans, saying "about to play in a stadium! CMA fest in Nashville.. Living out the daydreams I had when I was six. Thanks guys." No, seriously, Taylor, thank YOU. (Twitter)

+ Speaking of Twitter, David Archuleta vented his frustrations over those DAMNED CATS keeping him up. I mean REALLY. (Twitter)

+ Also, NICK JONAS JUST GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL! Seriously, if he sat in front of me in school, I totes would've failed Englush. (Twitter)

+ Bonnaroo um... happened! Did you go? Phish fans, do you even remember going? (Spin)

+ Speaking of Bonnaroo, Lucky Magazine was all amazed that Erin McCarley wore a fanny pack to the festival. Hello! Fanny packs are so IN! Any good Jonas Brothers fan KNOWS THAT! (Buzzworthy)

+ Trent Reznor hung up his... bloody pig's heart?... at Bonnaroo, by the way (LA Times)

+ Weekend box office report: Rihanna saw The Hangover this weekend. GIRL, I haven't seen it yet, so do NOT go ruining all the jokes! (Rihanna is SOOOOOO famous for doing that!) (Just Jared)

+ Is Mary J. Blige FOR REAL working with CHRIS BROWN on a new song? Um, Mary, so, like, I don't know if you heard, but... (Ace Showbiz)

+ Aubrey O'Day is excited for Heidi Montag's Playboy "spread." That makes one of us! And I'm not talkin' Darlene, either. (MTV News)

+ The Black Eyed Peas had good reason to celebrate last night at their record launch party in NYC: Their brand new album The E.N.D. is on track to take the top spot on The Billboard 200 album chart, after selling more than 200,000 copies in its debut week. Hardly the end for the Peas. (Rap-Up.com)

+ And though Jay-Z has declared "The Death of Auto-Tune," the Peas aren't afraid to use it on their songs, albeit theirs is more like a chocolate syrup drizzle rather than a soft serve dip. (MTV News)

+ This just in: Rihanna has officially been served papers by L.A. investigators that force her to testify against Chris Brown in court. (TMZ)

+ We've been talking about Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus for the last three days so we figured why not keep it going? Here's that new single they recorded and just shot a video for together. (Perez Hilton)

+ In case you were wondering, David Archuleta is totally cool with Adam Lambert being gay. Just saying. (Towleroad)

+ The tweet of the day comes from Taylor Swift -- and it's about T-Pain??? (Twitter)
