Spankin' New Music Week is coming to MTV November 23 through 27. It's a celebration of five new mega-albums that are all being released in one big mega-week.

Lady Gaga's dropping The Fame Monster Limited Edition, which if you're sharp enough you've already heard The Fame: Monster on MTV's The Leak (a whole week early!). Rihanna's Rated R also hits on Monday and you've already seen new videos for "Russian Roulette," and "Wait Your Turn." Meanwhile, Shakira's long-awaited, hotly anticipated She Wolf album drops next week.

Beyonce has the Deluxe Edition of I Am, and on Tuesday, Britney's releasing the Deluxe Box Edition of The Singles Collection.

So what's in store? We have interviews with Gaga, Shakira and Rihanna, MTV News sat down with some of the girls as well, and we'll have performances, videos, and more. It's an unofficial "ladies week," but because we're not biased we're not forgetting that 50 Cent also recently dropped his fourth LP, Before I Self Destruct and we sat down and talked to him too.

It should come as no great shock that Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" video was a massive undertaking. Directed by uber-stylish feature film director Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, Constantine), the video has the high-end production value of a blockbuster movie.

In this behind-the-scenes look at the making of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance," you'll see just how significant an endeavor the whole thing was. Francis Lawrence talks about CGI diamonds raining on Gaga, while dancers praise Gaga's relentless work ethic. And the swarthy, gold-face-masked Russian gangster at the center of the video gives some insight into his "character."

It's a fascinating look at what is, arguably, the video of the year.

Lady Gaga doesn't just change outfits a lot, she also changes vocal styles. Take, for instance, "Bad Romance," which features Gaga takes several different emotional stances: from the robotic chanting in the beginning of the song, to the hysterical neediness of the chorus, to the surly fashionista in the break.

For their remix of Gaga's latest smash, neo-disco masterminds Hercules & Love Affair (who put out lush, romantic dance floor lullabies on the DFA label) have added another wrinkle to her performance, assembling a kind of compilation of her various voices from the song.

The effect is beguiling; Gaga sounds disembodied, cut and pasted together over the lovely, stuttering, electro dance track.

The 2009 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show went down in New York City last night, and in case you're not familiar with the year event don't get it twisted -- the pieces modeled by famous hoofers like Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr, Marissa Miller, and Chanel Iman aren't the stuff of Victoria's Secret mall locations. These ladies aren't showing off the polka-dotted cotton undies you stock up on at your location VS.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which will air on CBS on December 1, is always an over-the-top celebration of gaudy glitz and glam and beyond-perfect bodies. And the annual show is a guaranteed celeb draw -- Jay-Z, Russell Simmons, Jay Sean, Keri Hilson, the Kings Of Leon, Patricia Field, Zac Posen and Christian Siriano were in attendance this year -- but this year, the show's "Star Trooper" collection seemed to have stolen its style, or at least heavily borrowed some inspiration from Lady Gaga and the Haus of Gaga. Observe, won't you?

Selita Ebanks wears a gold-spiked white bustier that looks an awful lot like the gold-spiked dress Lady Gaga wore to the Y100 Jingle Ball in December 2008. And that white bustier leotard looks just like Gaga's outfit in Beyonce's "Video Phone" video.

Hm. This bubble dress SURE looks familiar...

The Pièce de résistance!!! Gaga's Nasir Mazhar orb outfit from the "Bad Romance" video is reinvented on the Victoria's Secret catwalk!

Huffington Post just posted footage of Lady Gaga performing at an NYU talent show back in 2005. In the video, Lady Gaga looks much like she did when she appeared on MTV's Boiling Points around the same time. There are no disco sticks, no bloody costumes, no "Bad Romance" creepy crawly models, not even a wig. Just Stefani Germanotta, a piano, and a powerful set of pipes. She wasn't Lady Gaga yet, but clearly she had the fame inside her. Tellingly, the pre-Gaga Lady Gaga sang out, "I'm gonna change the world with my lips."

Sure, you can meet them on the equinox. But before you head over there, can you pick up some clippers on the way? Death Cab For Cutie, pictured above, were just some of the bearded boys marauding last night's mtvU Woodie Awards. Seriously, Jason McGerr and Ben Gibbard had the Death Cab Starter Beard, but Nick Harmer was rocking the straight-up new-school Colonel Sanders.

As if a don't-shave mandate went out two months prior to last night's Woodies, we saw everything from the "Captain Ahab"/"Robert Shaw from Jaws" (rocked by David Cross) to the "late-period, drugged-out Brian Wilson" -- demonstrated on the face of 3Oh!3's Sean Foreman, who later dressed up like Lady Gaga -- to the awesome evil beard, which Tech N9ne wore so right.

Though Lady Gaga herself wasn't at the 2009 mtvU Woodies, she did receive a picture-perfect homage when 30h!3's Nat and Sean, who presented a Woodie Award while dressed up like Lady Gaga at the VMAs.

Nat wore Gaga's red lace outfit, completely with red lace mask and red crown (maybe he watched the make-your-own Lady Gaga red outfit video and DIY'ed it?), while Sean got the frilly, feathery white birds nest. Nat shouted out something about wearing soiled panties on your face, and then hilariously teetered off the stage in wobbly Gaga heels.

The 2009 mtvU Woodie Awards are happening now in New York City -- a mash-up of music's famous faces, and on-point performances. And we're liveblogging it all on the MTV Buzzworthy blog. 10:14pm -- Alexa Chung is swaying along to "Treat Me Like Your Mother." Jack White looks like a cross between a pissed-off vampire and The Crow. In a way that works, though.

10:09pm -- The Dead Weather is taking the Woodies to the church of bad news on all-white instruments. Allison Mosshart's on a square guitar, and I'm pretty sure it's got the devil inside.

10:04pm --Mary-Louise Parker drops an eff-bomb while intro-ing the Dead Weather! RAWK!!!!!!

10:02pm -- Kid Sister and Kim (of Matt & Kim) are exchanging phone numbers on the floor, David Cross is catching up with Matt Pinfield, and Leighton Meester and Cyndi Lauper, present, and they're each dressed totally future-forward. They're dropping Woodie of the Year.

9:51pm -- Jamie Tworkowski wins the Good Woodie for To Write Love On Her Arms, and dedicates the award to people battling depression and drug addiction.

9:43pm -- Cam'ron drops some knowledge on the Clipse. The vibe is straight-up old-school -- no tricks, no autotune, no stunts. Just hype hip-hop. And RICK ROSS , bossin' behind shades, centerstage. Appropriately the crowd is dancing on barstools.

9:37pm -- The men of Passion Pit are launching tiny burgers into each other's mouths and ordering extra whiskey shots. A saucer-eyed, autotuned Janelle Monae intros the Clipse as the crowd yells out "You're beautiful!"

9:33pm -- Matt & Kim win Video Of The Year, and as their friends in the crowd toss their drink about 40 feet in the air, M&K bypass the stairs, crawl on top of the crowd, and rush the stage. They accept the award, thank pretty much everyone in one swoop, and Kim takes another dive off the stage.

9:27pm -- Death Cab just performed meet "Meet Me On The Equinox" to a mesmerized crowd but pretty much got the U2 reception when they did "Sound of Settling"

9:23pm -- MTV alumni Jon Norris and Matt Pinfield are catching up on the floor.

9:18pm -- David Cross has crown shoved into his pocket, and he's telling a Tom Cruise Scientology joke, for those of you who don't know what Dianetics is.

9:12pm -- Overheard, P.O.S telling someone "I just hope I looked cool," after someone congratulated him on his performance.

9:10pm -- P.O.S.just rapped over live flipcup percussion.

9:06pm -- Asher Roth gives out the Best Performing Woodie to Green Day. They're not here to accept so Asher stagedives instead.

9:04pm -- I'm down on the floor where all of the talent's seated, not at tables but at dozens of narrow glittery bars. There's a 1:2 ratio of kegs to celeb bar, and Oh The Story has their own personal shot waiter. Wisely, one member of Oh The Story cut himself off and ordered a diet coke.

9:00pm -- A production assistant carrying the next Woodie just rushed the award backstage.

8:59pm -- David Cross and the Clipse are having a heart-to-heart. Intense!

8:57pm -- Just walked by David Cross, who's dressed like he's going to a Superbowl party.

8:55pm --  Alexa Chung gives out the Best Music On Campus Woodie -- an award she promises will lead to getting laid more -- to an ecstatic Hotel Of The Laughing Tree whose friends are freaking out on the floor behind me.

8:46pm -- Amber Tamblyn intros Passion Pit via Twitter. Passion Pit is clearly a crowd favorite -- we've got people on top of people's shoulders, air drumming (like the Rush scene in "I Love You, Man," but far far cooler...)

8:42pm -- 3Oh3! is presenting the Left Field Woodie... DRESSED AS LADY GAGA AT THE VMAS!!!! The red dress and the white bird's nest mask thing! Reference was made to soiled panties! :O  Tech N9ne wins it and makes a Woodie joke and drops a KRS-One lyric!!!

8:28pm -- Never Shout Never has the shortest acceptance speech ever: "Power to the people!" Talks least, says most!

8:26pm -- Zooey Deschanel, darling as always in a darling dress, cracked a joke about not taking off her clothes as they swept up Matt & Kim's castoffs. She's presenting the Breaking Woodie Award, which goes to Never Shout Never!

8:23pm -- Pete Wentz, red solo cup in hand, is going rogue. Give that guy a mic and he'll take a mile. He just cracked a swine flu joke and dropped the "douchebag" bomb as he kicked off the 2009 Woodies!

8:21pm -- How'd do you get to college parties? BIKE there! Matt & Kim just biked here from Brooklyn straight into the lobby of the Woodies. They brought some friends who aren't just singing backup, they're stripping down to their skivvies for lessons learned. Undies party!!! Extra points to Kim -- she jumped up onto the drumkit and WALKED ON TOP of the crowd!!!!

8:15pm -- Jack White and the Dead Weather didn't walk the red carpet -- they basically ran it. Jack White needs a role in "Eclipse." Dude is whiter than a natural-born Cullen.

8:10pm -- Never Shout Never's Christofer Drew wins Best Dressed at the Woodies. Hands down. That Mickey Mouse sweater deserves its own award.

8:03pm -- Woah... Nick Cannon just ran down the red carpet! No sign of Mariah Carey...

8:01pm -- What's a college party without flipcup! The mtvU Woodies have their very own flipcup game going on at one of the bars. Kenna, just took aim. Isn't that how you get swine flu?

6:58pm -- The red carpet is under way, and I just caught up with breaking band Sparks The Rescue, who informed me that votes aliens are the new vampires.

Ever since Lady Gaga released The Fame last August she has established herself as the most vital new pop artist to emerge in recent memory. She's become a fashion icon, a regular tenant at the top of the charts and a cultural force to be reckoned with.

So it would stand to reason that she should be, at the very least, nominated for a Grammy in the  Best New Artist category, no?

Well, due to a controversial technicality, Gaga is ineligible for said award, due to being nominated previously in separate Grammy category ("Just Dance" was nominated for Best Dance Recording last year).

To be honest, it's not like Gaga needs the exposure. But still! Give her props, National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences!

I don't know about you, but I feel like a petition may be in order. Someone register Gaga4Grammy.com, ASAP.

There has probably never been a more anticipated release of an album than Lady Gaga's The Fame: Monster, which, not incidentally, is the subject of this very special edition of MTV's The Leak.

Lady Gaga's The Fame: Monster is a whole new chapter and the culmination of several months of performances (see: The 2009 MTV VMAs, the Los Angeles MOCA 30th Anniversary) and videos (see: "Bad Romance" and her "Video Phone" collabo with Beyonce) that have seen Gaga go from pop star to pop icon.

Gaga has talked about the eight new songs (which can be consumed as an add-on to The Fame or as a standalone EP) being wrought from her experiences over the last year and a half. Gaga's become an absolute supernova, and you hear reference to it in the glam and paranoia of new songs like "Bad Romance" and "Dance In The Dark."

But what you also get is a sense of increased confidence that comes when an artist knows the whole world is listening. The Fame: Monster's songs have the swagger and bravery that can only come from a musician working at the height of their powers.

The Fame: Monster isn't out until Tuesday, November 23, but MTV has the official album leak. It's totally free, and it's a total monster. There's nothing left to do now then sit back and enjoy the show.
