Everyone knows what last season's American Idol winner (a.k.a. David Cook's predecessor, Jordin Sparks) has been up to this past year or so. But while Jordin's kept herself busy staving off rumors of a career-ending vocal cord injury -- and teaming up with Chris Brown for the asphyxiating slow jam, "No Air" -- what has 2007's Idol runner-up Blake Lewis been doing since the show?

Well, besides clearing up false reports that he was dropped by his record label, Blake "The Beatboxer" Lewis has evidently been working hard to perfect his acting skills. Check out this funny (but arguably NSFW) clip, in which he puts his "#2 status" to excellent use.

(Hey, if Sarah Silverman's "I'm F---ing Matt Damon" can get nominated for an Emmy, who's to say that "Blake Lewis Is S---ing In My Bathroom" won't be next?)

+ Aubrey O'Day goes from Making the Band to making her Broadway debut! And the soon-to-be Hairspray star is taking her new role very seriously. "This show focuses on a lot of racial issues," she said. "It's important, I think, especially with Obama [and] the turn our country is going through, racially." Totally. (MTV)

+ Gym Class Heroes lead singer Travis McCoy makes a really, really bad decision. (Idolator)

+ Kanye West denies rumors that he's hired a ghost blogger and takes full responsibility for all those angry, capitalized blog entries. (Kanye West blog)

+ Keri Hilson admits we were totally right about that whole "boxing as a metaphor for her entire relationship" thing. (MTV)

+ Director Brett Ratner describes the experience of shooting Miley Cyrus' "7 Things" video. "I had at least a thousand calls. 'Can I just come by the set and watch Miley?’ and I’m like, 'But you’re 40 years old!'" Yep, not creepy at all. (E! Online)

+ Breaking: An anonymous British source says Britney and Justin were each invited to join Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour but are "a little bit reluctant" to commit. (NME)

+ Sarah Silverman's "I'm F---ing Matt Damon" video just got nominated for an Emmy in the category of outstanding original music and lyrics. (People)

+ Adam Sandler breathes life into a decades-old Who hit at the VH1 Rock Honors 2008. Wait… that wasn't a roast? (VH1)

justice.jpg

So if you were up sorta late-ish last night, and hopefully you were, and saw Justice perform live on Jimmy Kimmel Live, you caught one of the most amazingly OMG-inducing events on TV since Janet's nip slip. After the always-funny Sarah Silverman (who's Jimmy's long-time girlfriend) and the always-horrifying pumpkin-headed Wayne Newton, the men behind Justice --Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé -- kicked off their live performance of "D.A.N.C.E." by standing offstage and tweaking the knobs on an old-school 1980s double-decker boombox.

The cameras panned over to the stage where -- hand to God -- a freaking dream team of the following celebrity impersonators performed a lipsynched, "unplugged" version of the song: Talking Book-era Stevie Wonder on drums; a resurrected Rick James (in overly revealing tight pants) on bass; the artist currently known as Prince on electric guitar (natch), Rod Stewart -- inexplicably -- on keys; and an avec-nose Michael Jackson, circa the Dangerous album, spin-kicking his way through the lead vocals.

Who cares that all of the "musicians" were off by half a phrase, at least? It doesn't matter that fake Prince looked more like real Rick James. Nevermind that it felt like a human version of those Animatronic shows you see at Showbiz Pizza. The whole concept was so simple and completely low-tech, but it was one of the most delightfully cheeky performances we've seen in ages and just additional proof that these guys are groundbreaking in just about everything they do. It's also probably the closest we'll get to seeing a not-scary Michael Jackson, to whom the song is basically a tribute, perform "live."

If you haven't seen it yet, (or even if you have, watch it again!) you can watch the live Justice performance here. Or you can just wait for it to bombard your inbox and instant messages later (we got one just seconds ago as we were writing this very post) later today.

And check out the T-shirt spree in their VMA-nominated video, "D.A.N.C.E."

Sharp-tongued Sarah Silverman, who hosted the 2007 VMAs and layed into Britney after her less-than-stellar performance, was caught by the TMZ.com camera the other day in L.A. She used the "pap-ortunity" (pap-op? Hee... We just made those up!) to sorrrrrta issue an apology to the beweaved, beleaguered star.

Apparently a formal mea culpa is forthcoming in US Weekly. Because nothing says "I'm sorry" like saying it alongside an investigative report of what Milla Jovovich had for breakfast.

singerbri_john_14765740_max.jpgNo... time for ... lotsa bloggiez ... now... Still watching... Britney's um... comeback... minds still blown, still dying over Chris Brown's showstopping performance and crying over Sarah Silverman's potty mouth (and unusually flexible lips).

Y'all, there are but a few days left til our favorite felon/amateur porn star/media, um... "magnet" P.Ho (Paris Hilton, if you din't know) is released from the prison of what was basically her own design. We say keep her there! Drinking and driving is heinous. And if stars are "just like us," well then they shouldn't they go to jail just like regular people, and they shouldn't they have to serve out their full sentences? (Although the sooner Paris gets out, the faster she can get back to being the subject of countless embarrassing photos, most of them drunken, and all of them basically awesome.)

Anyway, if you think Paris should stay in stripes, check out the above Tee by the awesome Neighborhoodies, who'll put just about any saying you want on a Tee, tank or hoodie. This is one of their ready-made Tees, and it's just $14.99 and comes in a buncha different colors. Check out more of their hilarity, specifically their "Rehab All-Stars" Tees that snarkily salute Brits and LaLo. (No word on if there's an Amy Winehouse Tee planned.)

Oh yeah, and if you missed Sarah Silverman ripping Paris at the MTV Movie Awards, relive it here -- it was one of the funniest moments of the entire show.
