Welcome to Buzzworthy's "The Week In Pop," where we round up new album releases, talk show musical guests, and TV performances by your favorite pop stars and more (so you don't have to).

It's Grammy week, people! But first, the week begins with album releases: Jewel drops her first Greatest Hits collection (catch her on Tuesday's "The View," and also Thursday's "VH1's Big Morning Buzz With Carrie Keagan" where Toni Braxton and the newly reunited Fall Out Boy will also appear). Plus, Coheed And Cambria make a sequel, My Morning Jacket's Jim James goes solo (he's on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" on Monday and Tuesday), My Bloody Valentine returns with a new album after two decades, and Frightened Rabbit release their major-label debut. On TV, Justin Bieber serves double duty as host and musical guest on "Saturday Night Live." Also, Jennifer Hudson makes her "Smash" debut during its season two premiere on Tuesday. The week caps off with "Music's Biggest Night" when the "55th Annual Grammy Awards" air on CBS on Sunday. Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Jack White, Frank OceanThe Black Keys, Alicia Keys, Maroon 5, Ed Sheeran, and more will perform; LL Cool J serves as host.

Justin Bieber will host and perform on "SNL."

NEW ALBUM RELEASES

+ JewelGreatest Hits: Jewel's first-ever collection of greatest hits spans her 18-year career, and it includes chart-ruling smashes such as "Who Will Save Your Soul" from her 1995 Pieces Of You debut, on through "Jupiter (Swallow The Moon)" and "Hands," and into 2003's 0304 "Intuition." Jewel also adds fresh takes to some classics. She duets with Kelly Clarkson on the devastatingly heartachey "Foolish Games," and Pistol Annies join Jewel for "You Were Meant For Me."

+ Coheed And CambriaThe Afterman: Descension: When Buzzworthy last caught up with Coheed And Cambria, they answered fan questions, discussing their dark concept "The Amory Wars" album approach and their influences. Singer Claudio Sanchez also creates The Amory Wars graphic novel series that correspond with the band's albums, and Sanchez recently partnered with Mark Wahlberg and Leverage to make a feature film based on The Amory Wars. On Tuesday, they drop The Aftermath: Descension, the counterpart to last year's The Aftermath: Ascension.

+ Jim JamesRegions Of Light And Sound Of God: My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James makes his first release of original material with this soul-searching record. It was inspired by "God's Man," a 1929 graphic novel, which may be why songs such as "A New Life" have a timeless, other era-quality about them. Musically, he played every instrument on the nine-song set, and he explores old-school R&B sounds, with touches on playful island beats. The album generally has a more intimate, softer sway than MMJ's grander fare. Stream and download the soulful and grooving "Know Til Now."

Check out more new album releases, upcoming TV appearances, and performances after the jump.

Welcome to Buzzworthy's "The Week In Pop," where we round up new album releases, talk show musical guests, and TV performances by your favorite pop stars and more (so you don't have to).

What a great week in pop! We begin with the release of Justin Bieber's Believe Acoustic. Also, awesome twin sister duo Tegan and Sara drop their seventh studio album, Heartthrob (catch them on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Thursday). AND you guys, Destiny's Child (who are rumored to be possible surprise guests at the Super Bowl Halftime Show) release a compilation of Love Songs, including their first new song in eight years. Plus, "The Voice" Season 3 winner Cassadee Pope and Lisa Loeb (the latter of whom is on Thursday's "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno") release new material as well. The week caps off with Sunday's Super Bowl XLVII, where Beyoncé (and possibly the rest of Destiny's Child) take the stage (just got chills typing that) for the halftime festivities on CBS. Oh yes, and some football between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers will also be happening around her performance (#teambeyonce).

Justin Bieber and Tegan And Sara release albums, Beyonce performs at the Super Bowl and more in The Week In Pop.

NEW ALBUM RELEASES

+ Justin BieberBelieve Acoustic: The Biebs strips things down (and not in the shirtless way, although we'd DEFINITELY approve of an all-acoustic, entirely shirtless tour) for this 11-song set. Believe club bangers, such as "Boyfriend," "Beauty And A Beat," and "All Around The World," are given more intimate turns, and the overall gentle sway showcases a mature, contemplative tone. The album houses three previously unreleased tunes, including the pensive "Yellow Raincoat," which is rumored to be a melancholic music about former love Selena Gomez (before they split). There's also new songs "I Would" and "Nothing Like Us."

+ Tegan And Sara, Heartthrob: Tegan and Sara Quin give their incredible aptitude for spine-tingling melodies and earworm choruses a bouncier and happier sheen than what's been typical of their previous six albums on this electro-pop blissout record. In the past, their intimate material mined more heartbreaking themes suited to self-reflection, new songs point to atmospheric pop ("I'm Not Your Hero"), and the synthy "Closer" is a lusty fist-pumper. That's not to say they've eschewed the #sadz for good: "How Come You Don't Want Me" (co-written by fun.'s Jack Antonoff) is as yearning as a crush can get, and the sisters have even claimed that Heartthrob is their probably their saddest record yet, but it's overall refreshing to hear them expanding past indie folk and reaching new anthemic pop heights.

+ Destiny's Child, Love Songs: One of our favorite girl groups ever returns with their first new song in almost eight years on this new compilation. Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams handpicked 13 songs from their previously penned repertoire, like "Say My Name and "Emotion," that fit the album's title and theme. As for the new track, the Pharrell Williams-produced "Nuclear," Michelle Williams told MTV News, "It was a bunch of fun. It was just picking up right where we left off." Here's hoping this (and their possible Super Bowl appearance) spurn some more new music and a tour (after Beyoncé's completed her much-anticipated forthcoming album, of course).

Check out more new album releases, upcoming TV appearances, and performances after the jump.
