It's Wednesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!

This weeks' roundup features a cut from one of rap's most promising new stars, a deliciously danceable new single from the Goddess of Pop, Eurovision's reigning champion, a throwback track from one of the decade's most influential pop records and the return of Ellie Goulding in the form of a weird, warbling cover.

1.) Kylie Minogue, "Timebomb"

Kylie Minogue: Stiletto Enthusiast, Glitter Aficionado and one of pop's true reigning Queens. The dancing diva has spent the bulk of 2012 merrily celebrating 25 years in the music industry (a campaign affectionately titled "K25") by releasing gifts to her fans monthly, including acoustic renditions of lesser-known album tracks and live concert footage. But just in time for her 44th birthday earlier this week, the iconic songstress has just unveiled her greatest surprise yet: a brand-new single!

"Timebomb" is a pure, sparkling Kylie anthem, full of gritty electronica pulsations and Kylie's signature breathy coos, recalling the searing electro-energy from her 2007 studio effort, X. "Wait...please don't make me wait," Minogue breathlessly urges. Coupled with an utterly killer video, in which Minogue zips up into a moto jacket, struts down the street and bends-and-snaps against a wall in a barely there black number, Minogue has yet again asserted her position on the throne of pop royalty. She may not be new to the game, yet she's still running laps 'round every other pop chick in the game. Whoop! Happy birthday, Kylie!

It's Tuesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!

This week's roundup features killer cuts from two of my favorite bands with new albums out this month, a new groove by Rihanna's favorite hitmaker, some booty droppin' motivation from M.I.A.'s protégé and a surprise pop offering by Hollywood's most flawless zombie slayer.

1.) Gossip, "Get A Job"

Gossip wants you to WORK. No, seriously -- shut off the TV and get out of your sweatpants, 'cause it just ain't cute anymore. "Get A Job," one of the freshest, funkiest cuts off of Gossip's incredible new album, A Joyful Noise, is a healthy reminder to all that there's nothing awesome about raging all day and night, as conveyed in one of the best lyrics of 2012: "I'd love to stay and party, but I've got to go to work."

With its biting lyrics ("It was adorable when you were in your 20s/ Not so cute now that you're pushing 30") and raucous rock energy mixed with disco rhythms, "Get A Job" is the perfect inspiration to get up and move (and maybe send out some résumés). It's a fact: There is no better motivational speaker than Beth Ditto, the fiercest guidance counselor of all time. Work!

It's Tuesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!

In case you haven't already heard (and really, my grandma already heard so you should be ashamed of yourself), Britney Spears and Demi Lovato are officially joining L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell on the judge's panel of next season's "X Factor"! What? That's in-sahne! I know! To celebrate the news, I've selected one song from each of the judges (well, and one "X Factor U.K." judge to round it all out) to celebrate their repertoire.

Seacrest out! (WAIT. Wrong show, wrong show...)

1.) Britney Spears, "Hot As Ice"

After weeks of negotiations, Britney's "X Factor" deal finally became a reality in late April -- as well as a reality show first: When all was said and done, Queen B made an icy hot $16 million on the deal, making her the highest-paid television judge in history, y'all (which is still a bargain, if you ask me).

In honor of the multimillion dollar deal, what better way to celebrate Brit Brit's legendary reign than with a spin of her 2007 Blackout brag attack, "Hot As Ice"? Produced by the unstoppable Danja, the springy number sees the Princess-turned-Queen of Pop merrily skipping on top of a space-age hip-pop beat while playfully massaging her ego. "New and improved, I'm saying thank you very much/ Living legend, you can look but don't touch," Brit Brit croons on one of the sassiest numbers in her back catalog. Though the song was released during one of the darkest periods in Queen B's career, it's still a standout. As you can see, fortunately, she's cold as fire... 14 years and counting! Viva La Holy Spearit!

After teaming up for an unlikely collaboration with Mick Jagger and will.i.am on "Go Home" back in January, House DJ/producer Wolfgang Gartner has returned just in time for summer to unleash a brand-new dance floor anthem. And this time, he's seriously pushing the pedal to the metal. In fact, he's redlining his way all the way to the city...in animated form.

It's Tuesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!

It's summer! Well, almost. To help ring in the rapidly approaching sunny season, we've got five feverish new tracks from the likes of Romanian superstars, Swedish chanteuses and fabulous Stateside dance-pop troupes to provide the soundtrack to your breezy beach days -- or at least a temporary mental escape while you're stuck in a cubicle. Dive in!

1.) Icona Pop, "I Love It"

When Adele gets mad, she sets fire to the rain and touches your face as it pours. When the girls of Swedish indie-electro duo Icona Pop get mad, they throw your s*** in a bag, push it down the stairs, crash a car into a bridge and watch it burn. Spot the difference? It's subtle -- just like their new single "I Love It." And by subtle, I mean literally nuts o'clock.

Co-crafted by Patrik Berger (of Robyn's "Dancing On My Own") and Swedish producer Style of Eye, "I Love It" is like a beefed-up, Swedish response piece to French producer Martin Solveig's pulverizing 2011 summertime smash, "Hello." "You're so damn hard to please, we've got to kill this switch/ You're from the '70s, but I'm a '90s b****!" the girls shout aloud in the bridge. With its sledgehammering synthesizers, feisty vocals and "I don't give a..." overall attitude, "I Love It" is destined to become a staple to the soundtrack of summer 2012. Don't like it? I don't care -- I LOVE IT!

It's Tuesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!

This week's roundup includes an almighty anthem from my favorite album of the year (so far!), some electro-folk tribal Swedish quirkiness, boy band jubilee and certifiable bangas from a few of my favorite dance floor divas.

Let us all now join hands and dance around the maypole -- it's May Day, y'all!

1.) Marina + The Diamonds, "Sex Yeah"

Let it be known: Every single second of Marina And The Diamonds' delightfully devious second studio effort, Electra Heart (which was released this week in the U.K.), is essentially free of all flaws. "Sex Yeah," one of the deluxe tracks from the album, is one of the strongest songs from the entire era, as Marina serves some scalding hot truth tea: "If women were religiously recognized sexually/ We wouldn't have to feel the need to show our ass-ets to feel free," the Greek-Welsh goddess sagely declares.

Wait, I'm confused: Why hasn't she mentioned a club yet? Where are the bottles being popped? Surely there's at least one mention of getting sexy lady on the floor? No? Just a solid, rocking electro-pop anthem about gender and society? I'm scared -- and yet I'm dancing! Smart pop! Weird feelings inside!

It's Tuesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!

And for the most part this week, we're crying! Well, not everyone -- Cheryl Cole is dancing. But otherwise, everyone on the Top 5 is very mad, sad or both of these things. Also, more boys than girls are represented for the first time in maybe ever! What a strange and thrilling turn of events. Read on for the debut of an "X Factor" finalist, power-pop defiance from my favorite member of Danity Kane, and heartbreak, Swedish style.

1.) Cheryl Cole, "Call My Name"

It's been a dark, lonely three years since Girls Aloud announced their hiatus back in late 2009. Rations are low. Morale is down. Life got cold. The only thing keeping us alive through the tough winter months -- aside from the occasional tweet or two in between members -- is when we're blessed with another Aloud solo effort to pass the time.

Last week, Aloud chanteuse, former "X Factor U.K." judge/funny-face maker and most beautiful woman in the world Cheryl (Cole, but we don't say her last name anymore) released "Call My Name," the lead single from her third solo album, A Million Lights. Produced by Calvin Harris, "Call My Name" is undoubtedly Cheryl's most solid dance anthem yet: "How'd you think I feel when you call my name? You got me confused with the way I change," she croons above the Ibiza-lite rave of a chorus. Basically, it's her very own rendition of Rihanna's "We Found Love," with some delicious '90s house influence thrown in for good measure. So go on and say it out loud: Chezza's back! Next stop? World domination. (And then a Girls Aloud reunion, yes? Sigh. A Boy Aloud can dream.)

It's Tuesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!

And this time, it's another week of pure Brit-pop mania! Well, almost -- an American singer-songwriter snuck into the bunch, too. And an Aussie-born singer. Otherwise, we've got the hottest U.K. boy band around, an "X Factor" winner, and one of my favorite prima donna girls ever.

1.) Meiko, "Leave The Lights On"

Singer-songwriter Meiko, 30, first burst onto the music scene back in 2007 with the release of her eponymous debut. And since its release, each album track has found its way on just about every TV show, ever -- from "90210" to "Grey's Anatomy" to "One Tree Hill" to "Pretty Little Liars."

Having since holed up in the studio for about two years crafting a follow-up to her debut with the likes of Belgian producer Styrofoam and Jimmy Messer (of Kelly Clarkson's "Never Again" fame, among other songs), the singer is about to unveil her long-awaited sophomore record in May, The Bright Side. To kick off the campaign, Meiko unleashed the album's incredible lead single, "Leave The Lights On," last week. The song is an absolutely stunning mixture of melancholy guitar pop with Ellie Goulding-lite flights of folk-tronica fancy. "I know that it's a secret, and that I gotta keep it, but I want the lights on," she croons across the chorus. As it progresses, the song builds with an intensifying electro pulse, resulting in a major "brooding on the dance floor" anthem and one of the best songs of 2012 thus far!

It's Tuesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!

This week's roundup features a comeback track from an Aussie pop princess, the latest offering from a girl group across the pond, an unreleased demo from a living legend, and a dazzling new dance tune from one of the best disco-pop troupes around.

1.) Delta Goodrem, "Sitting On Top Of The World"

Like all proper Australia pop stars (see also: Queen Kylie Minogue), Delta Goodrem is an incredibly successful, beautiful and talented singer-songwriter who got her start on the Aussie soap, Neighbours. Over the past decade she's made a killing Down Under, serving up three studio albums and an impressive eight No. 1 singles.

Nearly four years after her last single, the gorgeous chanteuse has at long last returned with "Sitting On Top Of The World," a swoon-filled, carefree pop ditty about living life and loving life and living in love and all of those wonderful and amazing things that pop dreams are made of. "So get up, stand up/ What you waiting for?" she happily commands. I'm up! I'm up!

The video for the song is equally amazing (and/or alarmingly similar to what I see whenever I close my eyes), featuring Goodrem and a troupe of happy-go-lucky ladies and gents dancing around with balloons in hands. I want to go to there!

It's Tuesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!

I'm in an EDM state of mind, which is why I've selected (mostly) pulse-raising anthems from both pop stars and established dance floor titans alike this week: Synth-tastic comeback tracks, pounding club cuts and soon-to-be summer smashes from pop stars with predilections for pink wigs -- it's all here!

1.) Nicki Minaj, "Pound The Alarm"

It's a glorious day for Barbs, Kens and Ken Barbs around the world: Today sees the release of Nicki Minaj's bananas o'clock sophomore record, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Of the many Euro-tinged blazin' club bangas on the rapper/ singer/ bad b**** enthusiast's new record, "Pound the Alarm" is almost certain to be an instant fan favorite. Let's put it this way, SAT style: If "Starships" is to Lady Gaga's "Just Dance," then "Pound the Alarm" is to "Poker Face."

"We're 'bout to get up and burn this floor/ You know we're getting hotter and hotter/ Sexy and hotter/ Let's shut it down," Minaj declares during the song's Ibiza-ready bridge. And then, with a single foghorn blast (straight out of Britney's "Stronger"), the track ricochets into its bouncy, off-the-walls beat blast -- much like her current single. Starships were meant to fly. Alarms, however, were meant to be pounded. Can you say summertime smash?
