With summer closely approaching, it's no surprise that girls are running to the salon for a fresh, new, low-maintenance 'do. When the weather starts heating up and the humidity starts to bear down, the appeal of less hair up there is obvious.

But sadly not everyone can pull off the physical, mental and spiritual repercussions of that kind of chop -- just ask the following celebrity hair victims.

Hayden Panettiere: Now that "Heroes" has been given the kibosh, I'm thinking Hayden wanted to -- literally -- cut down on her morning routine so she could just get up and go without all that pesky long-hair upkeep. Why go through all the trouble of blow-drying, curling and setting when you can simply run some Dippity Do gel in your hair and call it a day? Panettiere's time is precious, people. I mean, the dolphins aren't going to save themselves, are they?

Natalie Portman: When Natalie Portman buzzed her gorgeous mane for her role in 2005's "V For Vendetta," there were almost riots in the streets. Thankfully, Portman's perfect face made the transition much easier. And some fans fell even more in love with the pixie-haired actress -- like a bunch of indie-rock kids from Seattle who went so far as to name their band Natalie Portman's Shaved Head.

Keri Russell: Before J.J. Abrams became the smokin' hot smoke-monster director he is today, he was just the fresh-faced lensman of a little show called "Felicity," starring Keri Russell. Known for her flowing, curly locks, Russell was queen of The WB -- that is, until she decided to go ahead and cut all her hair off. Then she was nothing! NOTHING! Okay, she wasn't exactly nothing, but her popularity took a nosedive, people blamed "Hairgate" for causing a drop-off in viewers, and the show was canceled in 2002. Russell even took a break from acting after the whole situation. So let this be a lesson to you. Do not cut your hair.

Everyone's favorite Sri Lankan electro-hop artist M.I.A. is gearing up to release her long-awaited third album on June 29. Today, Pitchfork leaked the as-yet-untitled album's first single, "Born Free," which is more punk-sounding than M.I.A.'s previous efforts but we're kinda into it.

Another thing we're super-into is the "Paper Planes" singer's wacko sense of style. Sorry, Lady Gaga, but M.I.A. was doing it first with the bonkers stage outfits. Take a look at our favorite over-the-top ensembles and judge for yourself!

1.) San Francisco's Outside Lands Festival, 8/31/09: I wonder if M.I.A. is offering an homage to the Disney series "The Cheetah Girls" or if she's just a fan of big cats. Either way, this sequined top is cheetalicious!

2.) Grammy Awards red carpet, 2/9/09: THIS is how you rock maternity gear.

3.) Coachella, 4/20/09: I don't know what kind of cookies she's selling, but after seeing this trippy, glow-in-the-dark Girl Scout-inspired uniform, I'd be worried about the side effects from her boxes of Thin Mints.

When Adam Lambert walked the carpet at last weekend's GLAAD Media Awards, he was looking as dapper as ever. With his swank, oversize vintage sunglasses, slim-fitting suit and alligator boots, we had no choice but to pick Glambert as our first-ever Buzzworthy Style Star Of The Week. Congrats, Glambert!

As Christian Siriano would say, "Ferosh!"

So many awesome bands, so little time.

No need to feel totally humiliated because you don't know the difference between The Big Pink and "The Color Purple." If you happen to find yourself at a loss for a knowing retort when your friends start name-dropping bands you've never heard of, DO NOT PANIC. Instead, close your eyes, take a breath and feel free to spitball any of the following insider tidbits on the following "it" bands that give you instant cred. You're so very welcome.

1.) The National: Over the past 10 years, The National has won over hipsters with its Americana-inspired indie-rock and good Samaritans with its pension for political action and philanthropy. Your key talking point: "I was into 'Cherry Tree' way before 'High Violet.' " Watch the video for "Apartment Story" below.

2.) Broken Bells: This supergroup features James Mercer (from The Shins) and Danger Mouse (from Gnarls Barkley). Somewhere, Cee-Lo is pouting in a corner, wearing a dashiki, because he's not in on this innovative indie-pop. Your key talking point: "If 'Garden State' was made today, the song 'The High Road' would totally be on the soundtrack." Watch the video for "The Ghost Inside" below.

3.) Crystal Castles: Not only does singer Alice Glass have the fiercest bowl cut we've seen this side of Joey Lawrence (circa "Gimme A Break!"), but the rest of the band is pretty bitchin', too. These quirky Canadians have successfully created a whole new genre: zombie electro-pop. One listen to "Crimewave" and you'll hear what we mean. Your key talking point: "I have to admit. I was pretty impressed when Toshiba used 'Air War' in that commercial." Watch the video for "Crimewave" below.

The always lovely Katy Perry strolled up to the 27th annual ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) Pop Music Awards last night wearing the above Manish Arora dress. Unfortunately, we're kinda on the fence about her gown of choice.

Personally, we think she looks like she's covered in Necco wafers -- or maybe those candy buttons. What do you think? Rad or bad?

Those flavor inventors at Ben & Jerry's never cease to amaze us. In what appears to be the best summer treat mashup since Stephen Colbert's AmeriCone Dream, the Vermont-based ice-cream titan just introduced its latest flavor, Bonnaroo Buzz, which features a combination of light coffee and malt ice creams with whiskey caramel swirls and English toffee pieces.

Not only is the chilly treat named after the annual three-day music festival in Manchester, Tennessee, but Bonnaroo will also donate its share of the proceeds to the Bonnaroo Works Fund, which invests in community-wide philanthropic endeavors. So, it's a treat on so many levels.

In addition to getting my stomach growling, Bonnaroo Buzz also got me thinking about other music-themed food products that I could put together in one delicious meal. After the kind of arduous search that would make Anthony Bourdain proud, here are the best music-themed food products.

Rap Snacks: Nope, you're not dreaming. Those are really potato-chip bags with Lil' Romeo (aka "Bar-B-Quin With My Honey" flavor) and Master P (aka "Platinum Bar-B-Que" flavor) on 'em. If you're lucky enough to find these at your local 7-11, grab as many as you can! Along with Cher and cockroaches, I have a feeling that Rap Snacks will outlive us all.

We just love Kate Nash's style: It's a little bit retro, a little bit contemporary and a whole lot unique. However, when the "Foundations" singer stopped by MTV HQ recently, we couldn't let her go without asking her about the style trends she hoped would die a painful death.

Gladiator sandals? Oversize sunglasses? Jeggings?

Her answer might surprise you!

Check out the video below to see which fashion trend Kate Nash hates, get Kate's take on '60s girl groups, and watch more new Kate Nash interviews. And don't forget to pick up her newest album, "My Best Friend Is You," which is out now.

At long last, 3OH!3 has unveiled the cover for the duo's long-awaited third album, "Streets Of Gold," out June 29. "Streets Of Gold"? More like Hands Of Gold.

[Awkward silence. Pin drops.]

Speaking of hands, the sign is eerily reminiscent of Jay-Z's trademark diamond-cutter gesture. Just take a look at the cover of Hova's 2000 album "The Dynasty: Roc La Familia" below.

Coincidence or correlation? You decide. In the meantime, go find the clean version of "House Party," the first single off 3OH!3's "Streets Of Gold."

As anyone who has ears or steals Wi-Fi already knows, comedian Aziz Ansari will be hosting this year's MTV Movie Awards. The show will air live from the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, California, on June 6, so mark it on your calendar. You also might want to start doing some ab exercises because Aziz is sure to split your sides in two. His shizzz is that funny.

Don't believe us? Watch some of the comedic gems Aziz has dispensed over the years. Here are a few of our funny favorites. (Some videos contain NSFW wordies! Consider yourself warned!)

1.) Aziz's Obsession With M.I.A.: Before Aziz hit it big on "Parks and Recreation," he was just another struggling NYC stand-up comedian ... with AN AWESOME show on MTV called "Human Giant") ... and a huge crush on "Paper Planes" singer M.I.A. Not only is this back-in-the-day bit completely hysterical, but it's also educational. Rumba nala patih!

I don't know about you, but I am so glad Coachella is over. I'm not trying to be a hater or anything, but I was about to hurl myself out a window if I had to read one more "Muse is changing my life!" or "Jay-Z and Beyonce are totally side-stage, watching Phoenix right now!" tweet-slash-status message from all my friends who ventured to Indio, California, without me over the weekend.

Yeah, I'm a green-eyed monster. What?

I might be bummed that I missed what I heard to be amazing performances by Passion Pit, Avett Brothers and La Roux, but I'm mainly pissed that I wasn't able to play one of my favorite festival games: Spot The Celeb With The Worst Festival Fashion Sense.

However, thanks to the art of concert photography, I can play the at-home version of Coachella. Allow me to introduce you to the top 5 fashion trainwrecks spotted at Coachella. Please hold your applause until the end of the jump!

Kelly Osbourne: I don't care if you're Kelly Osbourne or Karl Lagerfeld; it's never okay to wear socks with sandals. Never.
