Honestly, thank goodness for Twitter. I know, I say this all the time. But how the hell else are we gonna find out about CRUCIAL WORLD NEWS? Case in point: Lil Wayne's engagement rumors! Weezy basically caused a Twitterpocalypse when he tweeted something mysterious early this morning: "She said yes!"

So then everyone was all, "OMG WEEZY'S ENGAGED" and bottles were popped, and threatening letters from female fans to his girlfriend Dhea  were already stamped and ready to go. But Lil Wayne just cleared up the whole scenario: "I meant 'she said yes' to being my valentine!!!"

Sad news to report: Leslie Carter (sister to singers Nick Carter and Aaron Carter) passed away yesterday. While cause of death is still unknown, the entire Carter family is grieving for the loss of the 25-year-old.

Leslie followed in both of her brothers' musical footsteps back in 2001 and released a single, "Like Wow," which was featured on the "Shrek" soundtrack that year. She later shared the spotlight with her siblings when she appeared on the family's E! reality show "House Of Carters," where she was often shown writing and working on music.

Leslie was equally successful in her personal life. She married her husband, Mike, in 2008, and three years later, the couple welcomed their daughter, Alyssa Jane, into the world.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the entire Carter family. R.I.P, Leslie.

Well first off, I'm really mad at myself that I didn't predict this. OF COURSE Beyoncé and Jay-Z would (allegedly) summon Oprah to be Blue Ivy's godmother -- NOTHING ELSE MAKES SENSE! Second, welcome to the best version of human life you can imagine, kid. Congratulations on being dealt THE BEST HAND IMAGINABLE (if this rumor is true... which we're really, really hoping for).

We already knew Blue Ivy's life was going to be supremely extraordinary considering the fact that she's the first daughter of HOVA and THE Queen B. But now she might have Oprah to turn to for moral and spiritual guidance, which millions of people already do. But like, Blue Ivy will be invited over and stuff.

Besides the fact that she is basically going to be living out one long episode of "Oprah's Favorite Things," we're also really jealous of the fact that when Blue Ivy needs some life coaching, she's going to get some classic Oprah faces staring back at her, IRL:

Being a Fiona Apple fan is kind of like being a Chicago Cubs fan -- you wait and wait and wait and just when you think your break's about to come, the higher-ups make you keep waiting. (Those higher-ups being record company execs and the baseball gods, respectively.) It's hard maintaining this undying love for one of the best singer-songwriters to come out of the '90s when times are so trying, okay?

L.A. Reid, Epic Records chairman and CEO, tweeted earlier this week, "Lots of good music coming from @Epic_Records in the next few weeks. Stay tuned music fans. Welcome back Fiona!" Then every millennial and Gen-Y female (and some really cool dudes I know) immediately lost their collective s***. But when Time followed up with Epic, demanding (politely, I'm sure) a more specific time frame for the new Fiona tunes, an Epic spokesperson could only confirm that the album would be out some time in 2012. (Let me just remind you we are currently in the first month of the year... out of 12. Le sigh.)

Fiona Apple is a beautiful and unique snowflake who needs time to perfect her always brazen, consistently bold and lyrically brilliant pop ballads, so we fans are totally willing to sit back and chill for a minute. But we cannot endure another "Free Fiona" situation! (The "Free Fiona" movement began in 2004 when Fiona fans thought Epic was trying to shelve her third album, Extraordinary Machine, because it "lacked commercial appeal." We found out later that it was actually Apple who wanted to rework the album. Sorry about the protests and picket lines, Epic, but we're a little zealous when it comes to our Queen.) Regardless of who was keeping what shelved, recording new music can be strenuous -- if the woman needs Red Bulls or massages or vanilla candles or anything at all, SEE TO IT THAT SHE IS ACCOMMODATED.

What I'm trying to say here is this: Don't f*** it up. In the meantime, we'll be waiting...

In the words of Jay-Z, "You crazy for this one, [Electronic Arts, manufacturer of The Sims]!" Finally, a reason for me to pay attention to video games! (No offense, much of the population.) The Sims 3: Showtime Katy Perry is the latest game from the Sims camp, and in it, players get to play in the game's simulated world as Katy Perry herself. And for pretty much everyone on the planet, this is as close as we're going to get.

Katy, who's a Sims fan herself, said about her collaboration with the game, "It's cool to see the Sims' stage performances in the Sims 3 Showtime decked out just like my California Dreams Tour -- even my cotton candy video screens are in there! I always like to think of myself as a cartoon, and now I'm a Sim!"

So now it's your chance to dress up like a candy cane or ice cream cone or whipped cream poof or any other edible treat that Katy Perry has pasted to her body at some point and live out her (simulated) life the way you've always imagined! For me, that would mean a lot of looking in the mirror and making every male celebrity take me on a date. Um, isn't that the point of being famous?
