What would Austin Mahone do if he wasn't a professional singer? How about EVERYTHING?
Pop wunderkind Austin Mahone is as talented as talented gets (see his Artist To Watch VMA nomination!), and it's seriously difficult to imagine him doing anything other than drive Mahomies bananas with songs like "Say You're Just A Friend" and "What About Love." But then again, dude IS only 17 years old -- there's a world of opportunity open to him even if he DID choose a different career path (but PLEASE DON'T, AUSTIN. This is purely hypothetical).
OK, we'll just rephrase the question: What would Austin do if he, say, weren't spending all of his time touring with Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran and promoting his forthcoming debut album?? Well, turns out the answer is pretty, well, imaginative.

Get familiar with Denver's local EDM scene on MTV Other's new show, "This Is The Place."
Dunno if you've been paying attention to the charts, but EDM -- Electronic Dance Music -- is kind of what one would call "a bona fide THING." Just look at some of the artists we can't stop talking about (some of whom even made MTV's coveted "Artist To Watch" list): Skrillex, Zedd, David Guetta, Deadmau5, The Bloody Beetroots, etc. But did you know that EDM is also kind of a big deal in Denver, CO.? Yeah, according to MTV Other's new travel show, "This Is The Place," apparently all that thin air makes people wanna DROP THE BEAT.

Austin Mahone is a master selfie-taker. Watch the master at work!
Face it, taking a selfie is way harder than it looks. They're so many things to consider! Arm placement, tongue placement, whether or not your eyes are bulging, whether or not someone's secretly photobombing you... Hey, even if you're NOT thinking about those things before you take a selfie, now you totally ARE, right? And don't even get us started on the whole "duck face" epidemic. Well, in this day and age where taking a truly memorable selfie is more important than ever, fortunately we have pop singer and VMA nominee Austin Mahone to take us step-by-step through the art of taking the picture-perfect selfie.

Find out what Ciara's obsessed with!
It's not hard to be obsessed with stunning R&B sexpot Ciara -- I mean, have you seen her "Body Party" video?! (#LegsForDays.) No, wait, have you seen her ultra-futuristic "I'm Out" video featuring Nicki Minaj? Or perhaps you caught Ciara and Nicki's "lady power" anthem live at the 2013 BET Awards? Well, our Ciara obsession might not be anything new, but today we're the MOST obsessed with Ciara's brand-new eponymous album, which just dropped today. And to celebrate Ciara's latest release, we caught up with our girl to chat about about the things she's obsessed with: things like nerds, sports, shoes, and California Pizza Kitchen's Butter Cake. *Or, as Ciara likes to call it, "food crack.")

What did Kim and Kanye name their baby girl? We don't know, but we're getting to the bottom of it!
In case you suffered from a massive power outage and/or a case of not giving any/ all f***s this weekend and you're only now just coming back online, you're probably acutely aware that on Saturday Kim Kardashian gave birth to a baby girl, the first child for both her and boyfriend/ baby daddy Kanye West. Praises Yeezus! But there's only one problem: We, the deserving public, still don't have a baby name for the second coming/ sweet little bundle of extremely -- and I mean EXTREMELY -- wealthy joy.
Neither glowing mother nor new father are known for doing much privately or without fanfare and an entire film crew on them -- Kim Kardashian's brought a camera man along with her to the doctor's office (and into her sister's bikini wax appointment, where no camera crew should ever be allowed to go), and Kanye West coined himself the son of God and released songs from his new Yeezus album by projecting his own image on 66 buildings around the world. These guys go big or go home... to one of their extremely, extremely expensive homes. Oh, and Kanye also nonchalantly likened himself to Michael Jordan and Steve Jobs in the same breath. As one occasionally does! See! Everything is bigger and better and highly public when you're Kim and/or Kanye, which you're definitely not. Which is why it's KILLING US SOFTLY not knowing what Kim and Kanye named their little baby girl. So, we did what any reasonable adults hysterically refreshing Google News every 30 seconds in hopes of a Kim and Kanye baby name update would do -- we named that damn baby ourselves.
Acting like we have any sort of stake in the naming rights of Baby Kimye, MTV News' Christina Garibaldi and myself (Tamar Anitai!) picked our predictions for Kim and Kanye's baby's name. Our favorites include Krossant and Kraylor Swift, but I'm really hoping -- nay, praying to Lord Yeezus -- that they'll just name her "Hennngh?" Hengh? Just watch.

Here's Miley Cyrus enjoying a lollipop at Facebook HQ!
Needless to say, we can't stop listening to Miley Cyrus' new single, "We Can't Stop" (sorry, I've tried to resist saying that for days). And now, to further induce our Miley blackout, MTV News caught up with the singer en route to premiere "We Can't Stop" at Facebook HQ, where she candidly discussed the inspiration behind her Mike WiLL Made It-produced track (the first off her forthcoming album), her party girl tendencies, and her similarly raging work ethic.

The mysterious Air Dubai: too cool for genres but not for leather pants in Texas.
Air Dubai's sound is as mysterious and varied as its six band members, each of whom look like they stepped out of six different musical acts to create airy, chilling hip-hop-infused electro-pop that's as suspicious as it is sexy and soulful. Ratking, Walk The Moon, Vampire Weekend and/or One Direction, are you missing anyone? And then there's that cover of Britney Spears' "Toxic" that sounds like The Weeknd spent the weekend with Boyz II Men (pre-The Package). Just go with it. I promise it'll all somehow make sense.
Songs like "Soul & Body" and "Warning" have played on a continuous loop in my mind since I first heard them at the beginning of the year (I don't even have to physically play their songs on my iPod since they're firmly lodged in my brain, note for note, word for word), and when I got the chance to sit down with the band this past March at the Woodie Awards in Austin (it was brutally hot, even by Texas standards, but that didn't stop Julian Thomas from making a pair of leather pants look both cool and like a good idea), my Air Dubai obsession took flight (har) and manifested itself in a blatant gush-fest dork-out. Yo, I never said I was cool.

Thirty Seconds To Mars discuss sex versus power in their Love Lust Faith + Dreams lyrics.
By now you've had a little over 24 hours to sit with Thirty Seconds To Mars' LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS album, a grandiose, thunderous, transcendental, at times hallucinogenic, nakedly vulnerable adrenaline-fueled romp through the deepest corners of human desire. The deepest corners that can be reached by aggressive synths, roaring choruses, and gut-wrenching catharses, the likes of which haven't resonated on an album so powerfully since, oh, I don't know, Bono stood atop the Republic Liquor Store on the corner of 7th and Main in downtown Los Angeles and belted out "Where The Streets Have No Name."
And speaking of vulnerably naked and reaching deep corners... (good transition, huh?) I had a frank discussion with Thirty Seconds To Mars about the new album and one of its four main tenants: lust. I didn't mean for it to turn into sex, but somehow it just did. We've all been there, right?

Did you know that MKTO is obsessed with Cool Ranch Dorito Tacos? WELL, NOW YOU DO!
Electro-pop/hip-hop/R&B outfit MKTO (that's singer Tony Oller and rapper Malcolm David Kelley) met on the set of TeenNick's "Gigantic" and have been IRL BFFs and musical collaborators ever since. Thanks to their bangin' single "Thank You" (think a perfect blend of Chiddy Bang, Wallpaper., and a smidge of Outasight), the boys have been on our radar for well over a minute, and during that time, we got, how shall we say... A LITTLE CURIOUS. So of COURSE we arranged for a little tête-à-tête with MKTO so we could find about about all the things they're obsessed with: things like Cool Ranch Dorito tacos from Taco Bell, totally weird socks, and "Family Guy."
