“Cuddle Up,” the new joint venture between Pretty Ricky and Butta Creame (dressed like early Salt-N-Pepa), is one long “8-Minute Abs” commercial set to R&B beats. And we’re not complaining, mind you. (In fact, nothing against their sound but next time, these guys should probably just skip the singing part altogether and shoot a four-and-a-half minute clip of them standing around waxing their chests). Hold up, rewind for a minute. On the off-chance you haven’t already heard of Pretty Ricky, allow us to give you the 30-second recap.

Born and bred in Miami, this hard-bodied family affair is made up of four brothers (three rappers, one singer), a Joe Simpson-esque dad/manager named “Blue Smith” and one hell of a Soloflex. Pretty Ricky quickly moved from dancing in the background to forming their own group. And before long, they were tearing up the Miami music scene with hits like “Grind With Me” (off their debut album, BLUESTARS) and the booty-shaking club banger, “Get Up.”

Now, the boys are back with their latest soon-to-be-hit, “Cuddle Up,” a video that screams old-school (think Tone Loc, Silk, Jodeci and … Frankie Goes To Hollywood?) despite the cutting-edge sound and timeless pec shots. Check it out, and let us know whether or not you’d like to cuddle up in their collectively raw ’80s grill.

But not dirty in the vintage X-tina-in-assless-chaps way. Just dirty in the “Good God you guys need the Axe effect something serious” way. Like they just dug through the mud from Brisbane to Boston. Like they picked up where the cover of the new Sigur Ros album left off. Or like Devendra Banhart.

But sonically, “This Boy’s in Love” is all alarming synths and crisp, clean dance beats, backed by Paul Banks-style you’re-yelling-at-me-but-I-like-it vocals. Like electo-indie outfits Cut Copy, the Faint, and M83, Presets play like the soundtrack to a lost John Hughes movie; call it “future retro” if you will. So grab your Ray Bans and tap your Santogold-sanctioned Chuck Taylors along to it since everything old is new again… the past is the future, and the future is now.

We almost smacked ourselves in the forehead — in that way that people only ever do in the movies — when we FINALLY realized — after all these years of realizing things about Pete Wentz — that he looks like Dean Cain. In case you’re unfamiliar with the big D, he’s the former Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman star, whom Teri Hatcher totally left in the dust after she went on to became way more famous (and started morphing into Lara Flynn Boyle) on Desperate Housewives.

Looking at both of them together affords you the unique, uncanny, and vicarious opportunity to experience what it must be like to be Pete Wentz looking at yourself through a crystal ball and discovering what you’re gonna look like in 12 years, plus a couple of burgers and power squats. Dude’s got excellent hair though, so you could definitely do worse. Oh, and little-known Dean Cain fact — he was engaged to Mindy McCready. Wonder why that ended…

+ Tokio Hotel frontman Bill Kaulitz isn’t letting vocal cord surgery stand in the way of his creativity. The way he sees it? A new song a day keeps the doctors away. We hope he’s right. (Tokio Hotel America)

The Cab hadn’t even finished high school (Las Vegas’ Liberty High School, to be exact) when they handed their demo to Panic At the Disco’s Spencer Smith, who passed them along to Pete Wentz, who signed them to his aforementioned label, which explains why Pete, Patrick Stump and Bob McLynn all appear in their “One of Those Nights” video and why Patrick Stump’s and Brendon Urie’s throaty vocals dominate the chorus. (By the way, the lyrics are “I’m a mess and…” not “I’m a meth head,” just to clarify… ) And while the comparisons to Panic and Fall Out Boy are inevitable, it’s the strength of the Cab’s infectious, upbeat pop-rock that’s earned them overwhelming Internet buzz and impressive praise by Alternative Press, who deemed them “The Band You Need To Know” for 2008. (Seriously, go get Whisper War now. You’ll still be listening to it next summer.)

“One of Those Nights,” which is currently playing in the heaviest of rotations on MTV2, is like those video compilations they play at high school graduations, or at least at high school graduation on TV. But before you before you get too envious of the Cab’s hustle, remember: they’re just like you! Except with better hair, better jobs, and much cooler friends.

Artist of the Week Tyga’s the reason our inbox runneth over this week — we keep getting hit with more and more clips from the Young Money superstar, and after all the swooning you’ve been doing (and arguing over his ethnicity), far be it from us to deprive of you of the extra Tyga cuts you so deserve.

Beating people up at your shows is the new getting pregnant and denying it! Gym Class Heroes lead singer Travis McCoy was arrested and released on bond last night at the band’s Warped Tour performance in Missouri after he BROKE A MICROPHONE over some dude’s head after said dude called him the N-word. Now listen, we here at Buzzworthy so ABSOLUTELY DO NOT advocate the use of force or violence, but COME ON… drop terminology like that, and there’s a decent chance you’re gonna get yourself popped. Ironically, the whole thing went down after Gym Class performed “Peace Sign.” (More at Rolling Stone.)

Anyway, after Tim McGraw’s incident and Amy Winehouse decked that dude at Glastonbury, we’re wondering who’s gonna strike next and why. (And seriously, we’d pay GOOD cash to see one of the Jonas Brothers claw some obsessive stalker. Sigh. We can dream, right?)

Just another reason why we should petition the U.S. government (they’re not busy, right?) to officially change “August” to “Tokio Hotel Month”; Bill, Gustav, Tom, and Georg — collectively known as Tokio Hotel, and usually referred to between breathless gasps of OH MEIN GOTT! — are bringing their cat eyes, impressive biceps, copious dreadlocks and brooding stares back to TRL for an entire week, beginning August 4.

Mark your calendars, phone a friend, and/or tattoo it on some inconspicuous part of your face before Tokio Hotel melts it off: Tokio Hotel, live and in the flesh, will be on TRL all week beginning Monday, August 4th.

These days it’s all about discovering the next big tween star. And while the current issue of Vanity Fair spotlights Amanda Seyfried, Emma Roberts, Blake Lively and Kristen Stewart as “Hollywood’s Next Wave,” TVGuide.com steps up to the plate by releasing their own list of “The 13 Hottest Young Stars To Watch.”

So who made the cut? Not surprisingly, the top slots all belong to the newest crop of Disney and Nickelodeon ministars — or as we call them, “Mileys in the Makings” — with Selena Gomez ranking first, followed closely by Demi Lovato (called it!) and Miranda Cosgrove. Meanwhile, identical twins Dylan and Cole Sprouse share the fourth spot, Julia Roberts’ niece snags seventh place and the already-famous-by-association Ali Lohan peters in at Number 9.

But alas, not everyone could make the Top 13. Missing from the list are Tiny Masters of Today, Natalia LaFourcade (seriously, WTF is up with this gymnastics photo??), and that annoying little redheaded kid Anthony Gargiula (you’ve seen him on Ellen, wearing the world’s smallest and creepiest tuxedo) who needs to be stopped lest he becomes the next Clay Aiken.
