Remember when Biggie did "One More Chance?" Back in '95 it was the monster jam with Mary J. Blige and Biggie's wife-to-be Faith Evans on the hook. To match its monster-jamness, Biggie enlisted the man, Hype Williams, to direct the video, and called on a whole posse of talent to star. By the time the project wrapped, it included appearances by Heavy D, Da Brat, Jermaine Dupri, Queen Latifah, Tyson Beckford, Aaliyah, Diddy and TONS of others. The all-starred-ness of "One More Chance" was then pretty much unprecedented (unless you're a HUGE Chevy Chase fan).
Is it obvious yet what all this jibba jabba is leading up to? Let's just say it: Jamie Foxx went and made a video so fly, so celebbed out, that even Biggie, on his golden hip-hop throne up thur in the sky, can't touch it.
"Blame It," also directed by Hype Williams, includes performances by Ron Howard, Jake Gyllenhaal, T-Pain, Forest Whitaker, Samuel Jackson, Quincy Jones, Morris Chestnut, Tatyana Ali, Cedric The Entertainer, and more, making it officially the biggest video you ever even heard of. Sorry, Jared Leto. Sorry, Kanye. Thi$ i$ it.

At some point, we've probably gotta stop thinking of Tamarama as Whitney Port's boyfriend's band. 'Course at this rate, that'll happen around the same time we stop looking at 30 Seconds To Mars as Jared Leto's group (or listening to Fall Out Boy without picturing Pete Wentz down on one knee and proposing.)
Sorry, Jay, but as long as you continue to melt our hearts on The City with your grand romantic gestures and your amazing Aussie accent ("That Whitney's a key-puh!"), we're powerless to disassociate you from the reggae pop group you're so desperately trying to promote. Which isn't to say we're not that into you -- er, your band -- because WE! SO! ARE!
(At least, 'til Whitney meets someone else and we completely lose interest.)
But before that happens, check out Tamarama's new video, "Everything To Me," and see what all the fuss is all about and why we sorta wish Jay was our boyfers too. True, "Everything To Me" doesn't reinvent the wheel -- the cool, laid-back beach vibe made us think happy, albeit slightly boring, vacationy thoughts -- but what it lacks in imagination, it more than makes up for in eye candy.

+ Katy Perry's evangelical mother isn't exactly thrilled with her daughter's VMA-nominated ode to bicuriosity. Instead, she says, "its message is shameful and disgusting....When ["I Kissed A Girl"] comes on the radio I bow my head and pray." Fortunately for Katy, lots of us disagree. (Popeater)
+ The Game to Lil Wayne: "I don't ever put nobody before myself," says Game. "I feel I'm the greatest alive, I hold it down. But Wayne, he's got it right now. So I don't mind stepping behind for a minute until it's my turn." (MTV)
+ Calling all "Buddy Holly" fans! Weezer needs some extras for their new "Troublemaker" video. Preferably, those living in the "Beverly Hills" area. (Pitchfork)
+ Those never-before-heard U2 songs that hit the web this weekend? Apparently, they were the work of an overzealous fan, who staked out Bono's house and then recorded the sunglasses-wearing frontman listening to his own stereo. Seriously. (Rolling Stone)
+ Forget about Octoberfest. Phil Spector will spend the days leading up to St. Hallow's Eve getting retried for murder. (BBC)
+ Bad news for DMX. The oft-jailed rapper could be stuck behind bars until October. (The Boombox)
+ Jared Leto's not about to take a $30 million lawsuit -- against his band, 30 Seconds to Mars -- sitting down. Instead, he's firing back, describing the suit as "ridiculously overblown," "insane" and "totally unrealistic." Angela Chase would be super proud. (MTV)

The first time we saw the video for "A Beautiful Lie," we thought there was no way the guys from 30 Seconds to Mars actually went to the Arctic Circle to shoot it. But they did. Yup, that's really Jared Leto standing on a glacier in the company of polar bears and Eskimos and stuff. Kinda crazy, right? Well ... this is the band that put their own spin on the horror classic The Shining and was the first American rock group to shoot a video in the People's Republic of China. This time around, though, they didn't want to film just another cool-looking video, they wanted to raise awareness about global warming.
We sat down with Jared to find out what it was like to bundle up and head to the Arctic Circle and why he decided it was time to champion a cause. See what he said and then watch the video (and be amazed by how he manages to look so good in subzero weather).

Not too long ago, people snickered when they heard that Jared Leto was the lead singer of 30 Seconds to Mars. But now it seems the actor-turned-rocker is having the last laugh. The band's sophomore album, A Beautiful Lie, recently went platinum, churning out four singles, including their breakout hit and MTV2 staple "The Kill." So ... where does he go from here?
We chatted with Jared about being humbled by his success and whether or not the band will record another album. Watch what he had to say and then check out the video for “A Beautiful Lie."
