At the rate she's going, Taylor Swift should put out an album of cover songs... or maybe 12. Winning the award for most thoughtful pop star ever, while on her "Speak Now" tour, Tay makes it a point to cover a song by a local artist. She covered "Sugar We're Goin' Down" by Fall Out Boy in Chicago, she tackled Eminem's "Lose Yourself" in Detroit, and Tay sangĀ Nelly's "Just A Dream" in St. Louis.
Adding to that list is (the best karaoke jam ever!) Bryan Adams' "Summer Of '69," Ms. Swift's cover of choice during her stopover in Vancouver this past Saturday. Casually strumming her guitar, as Taylor sang the first words of the Canadian's most popular hit, the audience erupted with excitement -- they knew right away what was about to go down. In her adorable country-pop twang, Taylor sang Bryan's iconic lyrics: "I got my first real six-string/Bought it at the five-and-dime/Played till my fingers bled/It was summer of '69."
At the end of her cover, Taylor Swift smiled big and and told the audience, "I love you more than I even know how to tell you." Mm, we're pretty sure they love you back just as much.

Per the gospel according to Kid Rock, nothing says summer quite like "sipping whiskey out the bottle" and "singing 'Sweet Home Alabama.'" And since his new video, "All Summer Long," takes us way way back to the year 1989 -- though not as far back as the Beach Boys, who wrote the song of the same name back in 1964 -- we get to see Kid's ideal summer (essentially a trashier version of Bryan Adams' "Summer of '69") reenacted by a more-Fabio'ed version of his 17-year-old self.
And what's the only thing better than watching two underage peroxide blonds get soft-core by a campfire? Listening to Kid Rock whimsically reflect on simpler times with lyrics like: "We didn't have no Internet/ but man I never will forget/ the way the moonlight shined upon her hair..."
And now, thanks to Kid Rock's new video, neither will we.
