The long list of performers at the 2012 Grammys was as vast, varied and random as putting your entire music collection on shuffle and setting it on stage. The 2012 Grammy performances spanned an exhaustive array of musical genres, making clear that in the year 2012, pop music is more democratic and less limited than ever before. Jazz standards can share the same stage as Dubstep, and artists as young as Taylor Swift or as established as Glen Campbell and Tony Bennett all belong equally at the same ceremony. Here's a top-to-bottom recap of all of the performers and performances at the 2012 Grammy Awards.

Bruce Springsteen: Backed by Steven Van Zandt, Patti Scialfa and the the E Street Band, Bruce Springsteen opened the Grammys by tearing through "We Take Care Of Our Own," his new single from his upcoming Wrecking Ball album. It was an on-message salute both to Americans and, more topically, to the music industry and fans mourning Whitney Houston. Paul McCartney and Lady Gaga cheered him on. Also, let me go on record as the 50,045,492th person who notes that Bruce Springsteen does not age. He actually makes me look forward to being, like 50 something. Oh wait. He's 62? WHAT DOES HE EAT? HOW DOES HE LIVE?

Bruno Mars: Glad to see Bruno Mars is no longer a one-man piano-moving company and instead a consummate old-school band leader with his own onstage theater marquee. He channeled James Brown, Cab Calloway, Chuck Berry and the Four Tops with his golden, shimmering, blowout rendition of "Runaway."

Alicia Keys and Bonnie Raitt: Smart, unexpected pairing -- the ever-radiant Alicia Keys and country legend Bonnie Raitt pay tribute to the late, great Etta James with a country-blues rendition of "Sunday Kinda Love."

Tony Bennett, you are literally rocking our WORLD right now. First, you collaborated with the late Amy Winehouse, then the amazing Carrie Underwood, then "Bride" Lady Gaga, and today, Mariah EFFING Carey. Mariah + Tony = two LIVING LEGENDS on one record = OMFG!!!!

"When Do The Bells Ring For Me" is slated to appear on Tony's Duets II album, and it's a light, romantic ballad which perfectly caters to both Mariah and Tony's vocal strengths. While we're a little sad not to hear Mrs. Nick Cannon's typical powerhouse pipes, we can assume that the light and airy tone we get on this record was a conscious effort to match Tony's classic croon. As was the case with Gaga, Underwood and Winehouse, Mariah sounds like a classically trained Broadway vocalist on the track, and we're not mad at that one bit. Together they're in sync as they sing in two-part harmony: "When do the bells ring for me?" Your bells rang, lady! You have more money than Oprah (okay, maybe not Oprah) and you just had twins, bb girl.

To hear Tony Bennett sing alongside Carrie, Amy, Gaga, Mariah and many more, check out Duets II when it drops September 20.

Taylor Swift is back in the U.S.A. after some Asian touring, and to celebrate her arrival she took in a hockey match with "Glee" star Chord Overstreet.

The pair were spotted at the Staples Center in Los Angeles where the L.A. Kings were playing against the Minnesota Wild. Not really sure what the connection is between country music stars and hockey, but with this above shot and the union of Carrie Underwood and NHL star Mike Fisher, I definitely think it's a subject that someone should write a grad school thesis paper about.

I really enjoy the look Swift is giving old Overstreet there. She's usually so effervescent, but you get the impression she's like, "Whoa, that dude got totally crushed on the boards. Wanna go halves on some funnel cake?" Because that's how I imagine Taylor Swift talks at hockey games.

For what it's worth, the two apparently met through Chord's brother Nash, who is in the band Hot Chelle Rae. This isn't Swift's first alleged date with a member of the "Glee" cast. She was once linked with the high school musical's Cory Monteith. We'll see how this one pans out.

Check out another shot of Chord Overstreet and Taylor Swift taking in some haaackey (that's my Canadian accent), below.

Because seriously, that Waldo guy is way too hard to spot. Here we have a picture taken at last night's clash between the New York Knicks and Miami Heat at New York City's Madison Square Garden. For years, the Knicks have been pretty bad, and the star wattage, courtside, was pretty low. Now they're pretty good, and the celebs have come back in force, as you can see from the above shot.

Featured in the above snap are Howard Stern and his wife Beth Ostrosky Stern, NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson, new CNN talk show host Piers Morgan, comedian Tracy Morgan, "Avatar" star Sam Worthington and, somewhere, lost in that galaxy of sports-watching stars... Carrie Underwood.

Underwood was in attendance with her hockey-playing husband Mike Fisher. Can you spot the pair? I know it might be a little hard, before your coffee, to play such games, but give it a shot. I'll give you a hint...right-hand-side of the shot.

There she is! Underwood seemed to be really enjoying herself, seated as she was in such a star-saturated section of the Garden. When she's not taking in professional sporting events, Underwood continues to be a double-threat, working on music and her burgeoning acting career. Her new film, "Soul Surfer," comes out in April.
