Kathleen Hanna, Johanna Fateman and JD Samson are Le Tigre, the art-school/dance-punk offspring of the Riot Grrrl movement. Though they were never quite celebrities, a series of scruffy, chaotic anthems promoted them to a level of fame rarely seen by underground feminist electropunks. How often, after all, do you hear of pretty girls with mustaches having their songs played in cosmetics commercials?!?

Le Tigre remain three of the most visible faces of a politically-motivated art movement that bends musical standards as readily as it does gender. Along with Peaches, The Gossip and others, they have created a musical environment that's more hospitable to edgier artists who aren't as easy to digest as, say, Christina Aguilera.

Well, here it comes, breaking news: It's just been announced that Le Tigre -- who have worked with everyone from Yoko Ono to drag queen Vaginal Davis -- are now in the studio with Christina Aguilera. Get the f--- outta town, right? Right. For her new album, Aguilera has been buzy assembling an A-list of electroclash collaborators, including Goldfrapp, Ladytron and Sia. Big news for a little scene!

Anyway, before their beats start popping up on Disney soundtracks, we thought we oughta share five things you must know about Le Tigre. Check it.

1. LE TIGRE DID NOT BREAK UP!
A recent MySpace bulletin laid wild rumors to rest, and confirmed that the band was not extinct, but "on Sabbatical." While they rest, dig into their permanently frenzied back catalog.

2. Le Tigre Are No Strangers To The Mainstream Spotlight.
Not only have Le Tigre's songs found their way into a smattering of offshore advertisements, they've also been featured on One Tree Hill, The OC and regularly in the official Boston Red Sox radio broadcast!

3. Le Tigre Don't Need Restraining Orders.
Although Le Tigre member JD Samson is a gracefully androgynous club DJ with close-cropped hair and enviable style, she is not in Lindsay Lohan's speed dial. Maybe Xtina will introduce them?

4. Le Tigre Are Multi-Talented.
When Johanna Fateman isn't beating on her Gibson, she frequently contributes writing to Art Forum magazine, as a professional art critic. She and JD are also part of a new Brooklyn DJ group called MEN.

5. Le Tigre Married Well.
Kathleen Hanna, who was originally responsible for pulling Le Tigre together, has been married to Beastie Boy Ad-Rock for three years! Like Ad-Rock, all three members of Le Tigre are enthusiastic activists.

Keep an eye out for their upcoming collab with Christina Aguilera. Can you even imagine?? Pretty cool! What do you think it'll sound like? Will Xtina do another fashion 180? Watch Le Tigre's "New Kicks" after the jump for a better idea of what to expect.

Dudes, if you thought Brüno's balls in Eminem's face at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards was dirty... well... wait... it was... But we here at MTV have seen dirtier stuff before. Like Christina Aguilera in assless chaps. (Need a reference point? See below.) Or Taking Back Sunday covered in tar in their "Sink Into Me" video. The Foo Fighters covered in red paint. Christina Milian covered in God knows what. And some of our favorite bands -- Hit the Lights, The Cab, Mutemath, Weezer, and more -- have gotten covered in food, paint, pie, and more dirty, messy, filthy, in some all-out gross-out videos.

So check out 10 of the dirtiest music videos of all time -- some sexy, some sloppy, and some straight-up sick. (Uh, Primus, anyone?)

Christina Milian -- "Dip It Low" -- Sloppy can be sexy! Christina Milian writhed around in... chocolate fondue? Black paint? Ink?... in her 2004 "Dip It Low" video while teaching you how to "pop that thang."
+ Watch "Dip It Low"

Menomena -- "Rotten Hell" -- Never before has a food fight looked so elegant nor spaghetti looked so beautiful flying through the air in slow motion like in Menomena's 2007 "Rotten Hell" video. Seriously, this is less food fight, more ballet. And that blonde kid had it coming. Dude, gimmie some of your tots!
+ Watch "Rotten Hell"

Christina Aguilera -- "Dirrty" -- "Dirrty" is the granddaddy of the dirty music video! You get Christina Aguilera in assless chaps, Redman bringing up the rear, and a panoply of fantastic, orgiastic attributes, like furries, fighters, and masturbatory moves. Another word for it? WIN.
+ Watch "Dirrty"

Foo Fighters -- "The Pretender" -- Things start out tense but basically okay in the Foo Fighters' 2007 "The Pretender" video, until about halfway through the song, when the po-po get a little too close for comfort, and the Foos retaliate with a s++storm of red paint. Dave Grohl has alluded to the song being politically motivated, but if you play it backwards, you can hear "I hate Courtney Love" (speaking of messes) plain as the nose on your face.
+ Watch "The Pretender"

The Cab -- "Bounce" -- The Cab's 2008 "Bounce" video is basically Art History 101 -- it features a not-so-subtle Andy Warhol (actually a Patrick Stump cameo), and by the end of the video, the set looks like a Jackson Pollock.
+ Watch "Bounce"

Hit The Lights -- "Drop The Girl" --  Skip school, start fights, stay in school, start food fights! Bonus: cleavage, pizza, House Of Holland-inspired message blocky tees! Killer.
+ Watch "Drop The Girl"

Primus -- "My Name Is Mud" -- Primus' 1993 "My Name Is Mud" video is an absolute classic. Just ask Beavis & Butthead. Les Claypool in a lounge lizard suit, hulkin' fat dudes taking mud baths, dead bodies, Bob Cock drinking pork soda, and a seriously nasty drum and bass line. It doesn't get dirtier than Primus.
+ Watch "My Name Is Mud"

Weezer -- "Troublemaker" -- It's no "Buddy Holly" or "Pork & Beans," but Weezer's "Troublemaker" is a three-minute-long parking lot nerd Olympics, complete with a crapton of nacho cheese, 223 people on air guitar, and the world's smallest, and it all culminates in an epic pie fight. Oh yeah, and Rivers Cuomo gets dressed up like Limp Bizkit-era Fred Durst and rhymes "beyatch" with "kids." It's great!

Recently, more's been made of Jessica Simpson's weight and denim cut-off short shorts than the fact that Arizona State University denied President Obama an honorary degree. Vanity Fair writer Rich Cohen even managed to use the word "fat" three times in one paragraph in his recent Jessica Simpson profile! Wow. It took him several more PARAGRAPHS to even get to the word "beautiful," which feels like a bit of an oversight, no?)

Seriously, who CARES how much Jessica Simpson weighs? Sure, she should've fired her stylist over the Mom Jeans incident of January 2009, but the girl was born gorgeous and looks great at any weight. And Jessica Simpson in short-shorts? Even better. Hello? She even PLAYED Daisy Duke. Why? Because girl's got legs for months.

So, while ASU skipped over Obama, we're giving Jessica Simpson Buzzworthy's all-time favorite short-shorter award. And she's also the official inspiration behind some of our all-time favorite short-shorts videos by Katy Perry, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Vanessa Hudgens, Gwen Stefani, Aerosmith and more...

Jessica Simpson -- "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" -- True, The Dukes of Hazzard movie was a total flop (or a box office smash if you're measuring it against the Glitter yardstick!) but Jessica did get in absolutely bananas shape to play Daisy Duke in the movie and its resultant video, which was so overtly sexy (duh -- Brett Ratner directed it) that it ended up banned in several countries. And true, the remake doesn't do the original much justice (I'm fairly confident the Nancy Sinatra version doesn't mention anything about "double Ds"), but sharing a set with Willie Nelson and the General Lee is still worth something, right? (Right?)

Katy Perry -- "Hot 'N' Cold" -- Katy Perry pulled off an impressive feat in her "Hot 'N" Cold" video; she managed to wear short-shorts in just about EVERY scene, including the scene where she tears off her wedding dress to reveal a hidden pair of white short-shorts -- which wind up being the perfect thing to wear while chasing her wayward groom down the street. And walking a zebra, obvs.

Britney Spears -- "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" -- I won't let YOU be the last to know that at NO point in her 2001 "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" beach video, directed by the late Herb Ritts (he also directed Madonna's "Cherish" and Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" videos) does Britney wear pants at ALL. In just a bikini top and a pair of I-can't-believe-they're-not-drawers cut-off shorts, Britney rolls around in the sand with French model Brice Durand. The video resulted in a TRL #1 hit for Britney, as well as what was probably a LOT of sand stuck inside dark, uncomfortable places.

Christina Aguilera -- "Can't Hold Us Down" -- Christina Aguilera rocked an extreme... ly short pair of pink ones in her 2003 video, "Can't Hold Us Down." But what Christina lacked in shorts she made up for with old-school knee-high tube socks. True to the named Stripped -- Christina's 2002 album which featured "Can't Hold Us Down" -- Lil' Kim, who guested on the track and co-stars in the video -- puts Christina's short-shorts to shame when she throws open her robe and reveals little more than a teeny weeny bikini. And a superfluous belt. She's subtle, that Kim!

Beyonce -- "Crazy In Love" -- In her 2003 "Crazy In Love" video, featuring Jay-Z, Beyonce wears a pair of barely there denim short-shorts. And my guess is that her choreographer stuffed the pockets of said shorts with fire ants because Beyonce writhes around on the ground, spazzes out, and almost twerks her way out of those shorts for nearly the entire duration of the time she spends in them. "Crazy In Love" won three 2003 VMAs (the VMAs where Britney and Madonna made out!) by the way -- Best R&B Video, Best Choreography, and Best Female Video.

Keri Hilson -- "Knock You Down" -- Keri Hilson looks like she frequently skips dessert and never skips a workout. Plus, if you've seen her "Energy" video, then you're fully aware that she's a lady boxer. (Plus, she shleps around a CRAPload of nail polish everywhere she goes.) Therefore her short-shorts are practically a necessity.

Vanessa Hudgens -- "Sneakernight" -- Which did you notice first in Vanessa Hudgens' "Sneakernight" video? Vanessa's light-up sneakers, or her micro-mini super-duper short-shorts? Or the fact that "Sneakernight" sounds exactly like Nikka Costa's "Like A Feather"?

With everyone all is-he-or-isn't-he-ing over American Idol finalist Adam Lambert's sexuality, we here at the MTV Buzzworthy Blog are firmly entrenched in Team Glambert and could care less if he's gay or not as long as he keeps keeping his glam gun set to stun.

But friends, Adam Lambert wasn't the first man in music to get glittery and glossy, wield an eyeliner pencil, nor keep his skin positively pristine.

And so, to celebrate Adam Lambert, the most glam man (or woman!) on TV, let's take a look at some of the glammest guys in music history!

From Prince to Perez, from the Backstreet Boys to the most glam Jonas Brother of them all, see who else made the list!

Boy George: The godfather of early '80s glam, Boy George and the Culture Club -- their 1982 single, "Do You Really Wanna Hurt Me?," off the album Kissing To Be Clever, went to #1 in a dozen countries -- were never afraid to play with musical genres, gender, or with makeup, obviously. Unfortunately, Boy George tumbled for drugs and false imprisonment of a male escort and is currently in prison. Whoops! Video: Culture Club | "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?"

Marilyn: One of Boy George's contemporaries, British pop star Marilyn, born Peter Robinson, also saw brief gender-bending fame in the '80s. Marilyn was featured on the 1984 all-star Band Aid jammy-jam "Do They Know It's Christmas?," had a massive falling out with Boy George, and claims that he had an intense affair with Gavin Rossdale back in the day. Gavin denies his involvement with Marilyn, but one thing that's undeniable was that Marilyn was the master of the perfectly arched brow -- the killer app in any glam guy's tool kit.

Backstreet Boys: The liberal use of lip gloss, eyeliner and, hair products that the Backstreet Boys featured in their 2005 video, "Just Want You to Know," was strictly due to the fact that they were portraying fictitious '80s hair band, Sphynkter... or was it? And I defy you to find something NOT glam about zebra car seat covers. Video: Backstreet Boys | "I Just Want You To Know"

Freddie Mercury: No one pushed the glam envelope (glamvelope?) harder or farther than the late, great Freddie Mercury. Known as one of the most commanding, theatrical, and flamboyant performers of all time, even David Bowie considers him one of the edgiest performers ever. Equally at home in a tight t-shirt and jeans or a skin-tight court jester's catsuit and a crushed velvet cape, Freddie Mercury popularized the cop 'stache and ambiguous sexuality while unintentionally paving the way for Lady Gaga to appropriate her namesake from Queen's 1984 hit, "Radio Gaga." Video: Queen | "Radio Gaga"

Bill Kaulitz: Please. As IF we would leave Bill Kaulitz off a list of glam guys. The trademark hair and makeup alone are award-worthy, as is the fact that his life is one big series of angular, intense, and amazing poses. Also, Bill deserved his own giant tongue just for the makeup he wore to the MTV Tr3s Los 2008 Premios Awards. Video: Tokio Hotel | "Monsoon" Live on TRL

Perez Hilton: Though he's worn a most un-glam tenty Sherlock Holmes cape... thing... and a Hello Kitty shower cap... and shorts that looked a lot like lederhosen, the self-proclaimed Queen of All Media earned back tons of glam points when he wore an ARETHA HAT, designed by Mr. Song Millinery, to his South By Southwest party in March 2009.

Kanye West: Aside from hanging out with a guy who wears an Aretha Hat and spending an inordinate amount of time fantasizing about models, when he's not ruining awards shows or claiming he's not gay, Kanye West spends an inordinate amount of time discussing fashion, attending fashion shows, and basically giving himself over to fashion. And being very very fashionable. He also changed his name to Martin Louis The King, Jr. and was recently named hip-hop's best-dressed man. Video: Kanye West | "Gold Digger"

George Michael: Shown here catching a nebulous orb of glam, George Michael's been and stayed glam throughout the years. Whether prancing about in nut-huggers and a pro-life t-shirt and doing the jitterbug (see: the entire "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" video) during his Wham! days, or being all James Dean-y as Faith-era George Michael, George wrote the prescription for the perfect rugged-glum look: well man-icured facial hair, sculpted brows, sunglasses, and earrings. And speaking of prescriptions, George Michael's affinity for drugs and public toilets led to some majorly un-glam photo opps. Whoops! But, hiring Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, and Naomi Campbell for his 1990 video, "Freedom '90," was one of the glammest moments in guy-glam history.  Video: George Michael | "Freedom '90"

That is absolutely the LAST time Kelly Clarkson gets invited to Sunday brunch at the country club, Mumsy! She's OBVIOUSLY more the dancing-on-bars-at-Coyote Ugly type. I NEVER!

Watch Kelly assert her right to fall hard -- sometimes literally -- in this unslutty anthem and the brand-new video for the second single from her fourth album, All I Ever Wanted.

Check out "I Do Not Hook Up," directed by Bryan Barber (Christina Aguilera, Outkast). And seriously, come correct and buy Kelly Clarkson dinner first.

For the fashion oblivious out there, put DOWN the Lands' End catalog and PAY attention! Topshop -- the British retail authority on fast, fun, and (basically) affordable fashion, the chain adored by stylish sorts of every tax bracket, the must-shop stop for every fashion-forward American tourist visiting London (including Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Emma Roberts, Jennifer Hudson, and Taylor Momsen, and Christina Aguilera's been rumored to have been in talks to design for the store) heretofore scorned by pouty Americans due to geographic undesirability -- IS FINALLY OPEN IN NEW YORK!

Trust me, those of you who still don't know what I'm talking about, Topshop's Stateside opening is a Very Big Deal. So big that KATE MOSS, who's designed for Topshop, showed up to the opening. Jennifer LOPEZ and Marc Anthony toured the store. The City's Olivia Palermo shopped the shoe section at a VIP shopping event last night. DEBBIE HARRY was there! (DEBBIE HARRY, THE ONE WHO WAS IN BLONDIE!!!) Hopeful shoppers lined up outside the store at the crack of dawn today waiting for Topshop's doors to -- FINALLY! -- swing open to the public. And trend-hungry Americans (myself included) jumped out of their lace-up patent Oxfords over the much-delayed, much-heralded opening of the first-ever American Topshop.

People, Topshop is A RELIGION. A cult of quasi couture -- they take your money, but you hand it over willfully. People at work have stopped me in the BATHROOM to ask me what it's like inside -- colorful, loud, shiny, sparkly, stacked. And the shoes. Holy Lady Gaga, the shoes. Friends who live outside of the city (and friends who live here but fear the swarms of shoppers) have called me the "B" word (no, not "baller" -- the one that rhymes with "itch") because I got a chance to step foot inside the hallowed grounds of glam... And, not to rub it in your face even more (but I will), I was even luckier, because I got to go on a Topshop shopping spree with one of my favorite new artists -- and fearless style icon -- Ida Maria.

If you haven't watched Ida Maria's video, "I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked," catch UP! And if you haven't seen her ignite a stage yet (go for "Oh My God," stay for "Stella"), you NEED to catch her on tour with Glasvegas. But until you pick up the Norwegian glam-rock goddess' new album, Fortress 'Round My Heart, let Ida Maria take you on a tour of New York's favorite new store. Topshop and Ida Maria! Oh my God!
