Never Shout Never frontman and Joplin, Missouri resident Christofer Drew is lending his fame to help his hometown cope with last month's devastating tornadoes.
"The tornado that hit our community was not only devastating to the city's prosperity, but also the lives of the victims," Drew said in a statement. "My greatest hope is that after the cameras leave, we will not be forgotten. I love this city and plan to stand by its side until it is completely restored and livable. We are all encouraged by the help we've received. Thank you everyone."
Christofer Drew is working with the United Way to raise money for Joplin. By texting "JOMO" to 50555, you can immediately donate $10 to the relief effort.
Never Shout Never plans to release a new track next week, with all proceeds going toward Joplin relief. In the meantime, to see how much the city needs your help, watch a video of Joplin's tragic wreckage shot and edited by Drew himself.

A couple of days ago, we brought you a video of Never Shout Never performing live at the mtvU VMA Tour, and we marveled at Christofer Drew's ability to take a pretty mellow song and turn it into a stadium anthem. Well, today we have The Ready Set kicking out the jams at that very same show with its single "Love Like Woe," and we don't have to marvel; this track was made for stadium singing.
Jordan Witzigreuter and his band soak up all the attention and screaming passion of the fans in attendance and pay it back with a great run through their most well-known song. Special props, in particular, to Witzigreuter for his handling of the high parts on "Love Like Woe" 's verses; he maneuvers expertly through the slightly raggae-ish parts after running himself ragged during the chorus. That's endurance!
Watch The Ready Set's performance of "Love Like Woe," live at the mtvU VMA Tour. For more info on the tour, which also features 2AM Club, Never Shout Never and Just Kait, head over to the mtvU VMA Tour hub.
+ Don't miss the 2010 MTV VMAs live from Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 12, at 9/8c, hosted by Chelsea Handler.

Personally, when I think of Never Shout Never, I usually think of hushed, intimate, somewhat goofy, adorable, ukulele-led songs about love and heartache, not arena rock. And while the below video isn't exactly on Bon Jovi's level of seeing a million faces and rocking them all (but really, who is?), it shows that Never Shout Never and frontman Christofer Drew certainly know how to move a crowd.
Here we have Christofer Drew and his band playing their Harmony track "This Sh** Gets Old" on the mtvU VMA Tour, much to the delight of this girl...
...and thousands like her, with and without NSN written on their foreheads.
On the album, "This Sh** Gets Old" is a jaunty mid-tempo number, but live it turns into a full-bore power-pop song, while still maintaining the delicate details (harmonies!) of the recorded version.
Check out the video below. The mtvU Tour, featuring Never Shout Never, The Ready Set and 2AM Club, rolls on. Check out more performances at the mtvU VMA Tour page. And don't miss the 2010 MTV VMAs on Sunday, Sept. 12, at 9/8c.

Never Shout Never's Christofer Drew excels at making childlike and innocent songs about the rather adult issues of love and heartbreak. And his video for "CheaterCheaterBestFriendEater" might be the best example of that tension yet.
Taken from NSN's soon-to-released new album, Harmony, "Cheater" is shot with grainy film stock and is generally a pretty lo-fi affair. The clip starts out with an upside-down angle on Drew, whose face is made to look like a Mr. Potato Head doll. Childlike, right? Well, things get awfully real on the first line of the song: "You sure broke my heart last week when you said you had slept with him."
This sad tale of broken trust and people sleeping in other people's beds is told over a pretty jaunty ukulele melody, a steady bass drum and with a goofy rap, but the overall feeling is rather sad and dark.
Check out the video below. Never Shout Never's Harmony is due out August 24.

Christofer Drew probably doesn't see singer/guitarist Cameron Walker and his band Weatherstar as major competition in the battle for heartfelt-folk-rock supremacy. They've both shared a stage, and they share a manager. Plus, there's enough love to go around, right?
Sure, Christofer Drew and Cameron Walker do look remarkably alike, and Walker might not sport the same under-eye paint and coonskin cap as the Never Shout Never frontman. But this doe-eyed songwriter is still pretty cute without the makeup and accessories. And though Weatherstar sounds like some kind of Doppler radar technology, he writes gorgeous acoustic-tinged tearjerkers and pop-rock anthems with the assist of drummer Billy Toti.
Check out standout Weatherstar songs like "Wish You Would Stay," "Postcards," Rainy Day" and "All In Your Head" for stripped-back tracks with traces of early Dashboard Confessional, Panic! At The Disco Ben Kweller, and Something Corporate.
Weatherstar's self-titled EP is out now. Be sure to check out the band's official MySpace page for upcoming tour dates.

Did'ya hear? Selena Gomez and Nick Jonas broke up -- again. Tres sad. How will our favorite Kewpie-faced duo learn to live another Disney day? Um, by dating profusely until they meet their rebound match. Duh.
In case our beloved wholesome twosome needs a little help playing the field, I thought I'd play matchmaker and offer them up a couple A+ suggestions for future flings -- wholesome flings, of course. Scope out my matches after the jump! Read more...

This week, we introduced MTV P.U.S.H. (Play Until Someone Hears), a new music series where we highlight artists that we think should be on your radar -- and we were psyched to P.U.S.H. off with one of our favorite bands, Never Shout Never.
NSN brain trust Christofer Drew stopped by our studios back in February and ran through a bunch of his hits live at MTV.com HQ. Not to be all gloaty, but we saw him perform his single "What Is Love" as well as NSN nuggets like "Lovesick" and "The Day The Music Died." Luckily, we can share the footage with you!
Check out all the live videos after the jump and be sure to stay tuned for our next P.U.S.H. artist.

I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for band merch -- and the weirder, the better. I love it when groups get creative and think outside the black T-shirt box. I was particularly impressed by the following wacky pieces of band merch. Start stretching, because you and your credit card are in for quite a workout. Plus, check out more consumer goodness after the jump!
1. Metric water bottle ($14): Dancing up a storm works up quite a thirst. Thankfully, Metric offers these handy -- and eco-friendly -- water bottles so you can hydrate while you express your "Stadium Love."

With our new tribute series P.U.S.H. (Play Until Someone Hears) in full swing, we're proud to present more videos from the P.U.S.H. artist of the week, Never Shout Never, taken from his amazing live performance at MTV HQ last month. P.U.S.H. artists are folks we think should be on your radar, so we celebrate them for a week. Since Christofer Drew, NSN braintrust, is already one of our faves, he was a great choice as our premiere P.U.S.H. artist.
Here we have two more clips from Drew's February live performance at MTV.com. Below you'll find a tender take on the single "What Is Love," as well as "If You Go Leave Your Key In The Mailbox."

Something Corporate (Credit: Noel Vasquez/Getty Images)
When I rolled up to Bamboozle Left yesterday afternoon, I was immediately bombarded with a zillion texts saying, "Did you hear? The Jonas Brothers are TOTES playing with Something Corporate tonight!! Freal!" I nearly stopped dead in my tracks and said out loud, "Shut! The! Door!"
As the day wore on -- and bands like Never Shout Never, Hey Monday, The Maine and Orianthi rocked the stage -- I kept my eyes peeled for any of the Jo Bro fros. Unfortunately, the only sighting I had was of Simon Rex, who was playing the fest as his rap alter ego Dirt Nasty. What a disappointment on so many levels.
The Jonas Brothers did eventually show up (Nick and Joe, at least), but only to oogle Andrew McMahon and a newly reformed Soco from the side of the stage. Bummer to the max. Guess that collaboration will have to wait. However, Something Corporate just announced they'll be playing Bamboozle in Chicago on May 15. I wonder if an appearance at Bamboozle in New Jersey -- and a possible Jonas Brothers duet -- is imminent? One can only hope.
Finally, a week or so ago, I spotted Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato getting their pop-punk on at New Found Glory's gig at Hollywood's House Of Blues. Between their love for NFG and Soco, I wonder if the band is burnin' up for a new musical direction? As you ponder that horrible pun, check out more pictures from Bamboozle Left after the jump!
After the show, Never Shout Never frontman Christofer Drew was going to play a pickup flag football game. Nice face paint, bro. (Credit: Noel Vasquez/Getty Images)
