+ Go inside the mind of Katy Perry/Kathy Beth Terry in a new interview with the nerdy 13-year-old alter ego. Regarding whether or not we're invited to her next party, Kathy said, "Due to the whole 'grounded for the next 5 years' thing, I'm laying low... The next party will be online, that way you can all come!" Online parties are the best parties. (ONTD)

+ Brush off your Dr. Martens and teenage angst, bros -- '90s rockers Bush are planning to release their first album in 10 years. The Gavin Rossdale-fronted band (now featuring two new members) will release The Sea Of Memories on Sept. 13. (Popdust)

+ Speaking of new albums, if "Come On Eileen" is your favorite "WTF" jukebox selection (like me!), you're in luck. Foursome from the '80s Dexys Midnight Runners are at work on a new material. The still untitled album is due out sometime next year. (Spinner)

Post-hard core can bring out the screaming hair-puller in most of us, so it's great to see a post-HC band like Pierce The Veil, who knows how to have fun with the dark side of music.

Formerly known as Before Today, Pierce The Veil has made two albums of cathartic, highly technical heavy rock. On its recently released Selfish Machines, the group mixes the glam and gloom of My Chemical Romance with the prog-rock fireworks of Dillinger Escape Plan and Coheed And Cambria.

On stage, however, (PTV are road warriors, touring with the likes of Mayday Parade and Devil Wears Prada), the band mixes in contemporary pop classics into its songs, as anyone who has witnessed its takes on Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" and Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love" can attest.

Check out Pierce The Veil's video for the 2007 single "Chemical Kids And Mechanical Brides," off the album A Flair For The Dramatic. You can listen to a stream of Selfish Machines and check out all their Warped Tour dates at their MySpace page.

Today we have Part II. In the below video, the guys from Coheed continue to answer the questions from you, the fans. They discuss their musical influences (everything from Nine Inch Nails to Kool & The Gang), and whether their concept albums might inspire a movie some day. As you can probably tell by looking at it, there's a lot to be learned from Saosin's (pronounced "say-o-sin") peculiar name. Adapted from Chinese, the first known appearance of the word is in an old proverb that cautions against becoming too attached to anything in this impermanent world. (Bummer, but probably for the best.) It translates literally as "little heart." And while little heart couldn't be any less accurate a description of the Newport Beach-based boys' pleading screamo assaults, they've faced more than their share of impermanence, undergoing three major lineup changes before they even put out their first full-length.

After losing original singer Anthony Green, drummer Pat McGrath and bassist Zach Kennedy, Saosin eventually settled into a more permanent roster of Cove Reber (vox), Beau Burchell (guitar, vox), Justin Shekoski (guitar, vox), Chris Sorenson (bass), and Alex Rodriguez (drums). That's a whole lotta vocals, right? I wasn't kidding when I said "assault." Lately, every Saosin song is a flag-waving, fist-pumping, eyes-clamped, teeth-bared battle cry. A rare quality that attracted the attention of Capitol Records and landed the band on tours with Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed And Cambria, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and tons more. In fact, they're on the road right now with The Used. Here are some dates you can look at while Saosin emote us out with "You're Not Alone."
