The fine fine men of Making The Band 4's Day 26 were here at 1515 Broadway yesterday, doing press for their new album, Forever In A Day. (Who's buying Forever In A Day, by the way? You? Diddy's entire Twitter following?)
Anyway, all of Day 26 was in a conference room just a few feet away from my desk here on the 17th floor, and my friend Courtney, who works just on the other side of said conference room, pointed out that Mike was wearing almost the exact same Balmain military jacket that Beyonce was seen all over New York in. (And when I say that Beyonce was seen all over New York in that military jacket, I really mean that she probably only wore it for like two hours, even though that Balmain jacket is about $11,000, which is more than some Americans make in an entire year.)
But, you know what? Beyonce and Mike from Day 26 are SOOOOO unfashionable because Gerard Way and Chris Martin were doing the military jacket thing LAST YEAR, people. And who is this "Balmain" guy anyway? And why's a dead guy gotta waste Gerard Way's flavor anyway?
Anyway, thought you Day 26 fans and fashionistas out there would appreciate knowing that Beyonce and Mike are all matchy-matchy on the military jacket tip.
+ Plus: Buzzworthy Goes To Topshop! And, watch Day 26's "Imma Put It On Her" video.
Last week Day 26 put it on you on the beach, in da club, with a bottle of Barack Ciroq and Diddy and everything.
This week the Making The Band boys are pouring THEIR ENTIRE NEW ALBUM all over you, with turn-down-the-lights tracks like "Your Heels" -- an ode to that special spot between your calves 'n' yo feet that help hold up dat ass -- and "Babymaker," which is self-explanatory. Day 26's album doesn't hit stores until next week, but you can hear the whole thing for free RIGHT NOW on MTV.com...
+ Listen to every track of Day 26's Forever In A Day on MTV.com's "The Leak."
Guise, we here on earth are faced with some SERIOUS global challenges, and I'm not even talking about nuclear warfare, or climate change, or the fact that, like, most of the world is broke (except for probably Diddy... and Barack Obama, who gave the Queen of England an iPod!).
I'm talking about the fact that THE FUTURE OF DAY 26 REMAINS VERY MUCH IN JEOPARDY! Dudes are fighting harder than Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler! Are they gonna get it together and remain a band of bros? Or will they go the way of Danity Kane?
I don't have the answers, but I do have a brand-new video by Day 26. It's called "Imma Put It On Her," and in it, the Making The Band members, plus Diddy (obvs), make it very clear that whether you're in da club, on da beach, or in Taiwan, they're gonna put it on you... and then take it right off. I'll raise a glass of Ciroq Obama and toast to that.
While the 2008 VMAs were going down in Hollywood, Fashion Week totally took over NYC. And, as always, the front row was the only place to see and be seen. And since a picture's worth a thousand words, we've put together a pictorial peek of the action for your voyeuristic viewing pleasure. Check it out and see which music-minded celebs bombarded NYC's Bryant Park, presided over the promenade and triumphed at The Tents...

John Legend pulled double duty, racing back from the VMAs red carpet in time to take in Tommy Hilfiger with a pixie-haired Hilary Swank. Meanwhile, Ashanti peeped Reem Acra with actress Perry Reeves and Danity Kane's Aubrey O'Day held court at Custo Barcelona with socialite (and Gossip Girl guest star!) Tinsley Mortimer.

Elsewhere, R&B star Mario came out of hiding to mingle with The Veronicas at G-Star, while Jennifer Lopez dazzled at Oscar de la Renta and Day 26's Q got dangerously cozy with fellow Making the Band-er Dawn Richards at Aurelio Costarella.

Plus, Kelly Osbourne and Bow Wow were total suckers for Betsey Johnson while Natasha "I Wrote The Hills Theme Song" Bedingfeld joined the rest of the fashion world in blowing air-kisses at Max Azria.

If week one of FNMTV was all about Pete Wentz and videos, then week two was all about Pete Wentz, videos AND LIL WAYNE, who nearly blew out all the electricity in the greater Los Angeles area with his explosive, awe-inspiring rendition of "A Milli," which he performed nearly minutes after it was announced that his new album sold a million copies its first week out. Nice timing, baby!
We'd have Wayne back for if we could, but he's gotta get back to the studio to exercise some more of that lyrical genius. So, on tomorrow night's installment of FNMTV -- tune in Friday, June 27, at 8 p.m. ET/PT -- you'll see live performances by Rihanna and Maroon 5, plus guest appearances and video premieres, including:
T.I. - "No Matter What"
No Age - "Eraser"
Day26 - "Since You've Been Gone"
+ After the jump — highlights from last week’s show.
