The Temper Trap are a small band with a big sound from down under. We already gave you the buzz on Temper Trap a while back, but here's a refresher course.
Think U2/Coldplay anthems meet Death Cab subtlety. Their song "Sweet Disposition" has been gathering a lot of steam, appearing on (500 Days) Of Summer soundtrack and popping up on TV all over.
In this MTV Discover & Download interview, Temper Trap talks about their humble beginnings, the various permutations of band names they went through (before they settled on The Temper Trap), and the Melbourne, Australia music scene.
You'll also find out more about their "Sweet Disposition," video, the concept for which revolves around them playing live... in outer space. Boldly go where no man has gone before, and check out The Temper Trap at Discover & Download. And check out "Sweet Disposition" below the interview.

In this new Discover & Download interview, the enigmatic Minneapolis emcee/producer/singer/multi-instrumentalist P.O.S. talks about evolution.
In the clip, P.O.S. talks about the various meanings his stage name has had over the years, from "Pissed Off Stef" in his adolescence to "Promise Of Skill" in his emcee days. He also goes into detail about his varying levels of skill on various instruments, including drums, keys, bass, and even tuba (!!!).
You'll also find out about the evolution of the Minneapolis sound (from Prince to Atmosphere), the evolution of his Discover & Download track, "Never Better" (which he calls his "favorite song" he's ever written and which you can check out below).
You already got to know Priscilla Renea a little bit when we first featured her as a Discover & Download artist. Well, now is your chance to get to know her a lot!
Hear about how Renea took her dreams of being either a Broadway star or Whitney Houston (or both) and poured them into that magical dreamcatcher machine called YouTube, where she was discovered by important people who make important decisions regarding music.
Renea goes on to discuss her single, "Dollhouse" as well as her album, Jukebox. You can go to Discover & Download to get yourself a free download of "Dollhouse" and you can check out the video below.

Priscilla Renea started making music in her Florida bedroom by throwing stuff at the wall and using whatever stuck. She's a product of (YouTube) channel surfing; flicking from old-school No Doubt-esque alt-pop to the dancey fun of Katy Perry.
She first made her name performing originals and covers in her home and broadcasting to the widest audience possible (the internets), in the hopes that someone would sit up and take notice. And boy did they. One major label record contract later (thanks to Capitol Records) and an eclectic, super fun debut album in the can (Jukebox), Renea is bringing her homegrown charm to the mainstream.
Check out her DIY take on Cassie's Me & U as well as her video for her first official single, "Dollhouse." And be sure to head on over to the Discover & Download page to get an MP3 of "Dollhouse" in your life.

Does Usher run in your wolf pack? Usher runs in Justin Bieber's wolf pack. And as you might expect, there are perks to Usher running in your wolf pack: getting to play video games in his house (apparently you have your own set of keys) and throwing sick parties when he's gone to impress the ladies.
Indeed, I'm a little fixated on the 15-year-old YouTube sensation-turned-recording artist's use of the term "wolf pack," but regardless, watch this self-made, self-taught talent's MTV Discover & Download interview below, if only for the ridiculously adorable segment of Justin Bieber playing guitar on the street for change. (Justin may be nonchalant about this, but he really made $3000 from guitar-case change tosses!?! How is that even possible? I'm having a vision of him breaking the CoinStar machine right now... )
Anyway, in addition to Justin's overall sweetness, he's got some real talent (hey, YouTube browsing time is precious -- Justin didn't get the plays for nothing).
Watch Justin discuss the wolf pack, and after the jump, watch Justin perform an acoustic version of "One Time" in the MTV studio -- just Justin and his guitar.

This Providence: a band that began with an “awkward and weird” encounter in a locker room… I really need to hear more about these origins -- you don’t want to leave me to my own devices -- but alas, that is the only explanation we viewers get from the Discover & Download interview from This Providence regarding its possibly sweaty origins.
OK, we do get a little bit more, so you should watch the video below: The Fueled by Ramen band formed when rival Seattle band members Dan Young and Gavin Phillips agreed to set aside their differences and start making heartfelt, punky pop-rock together.
The guys also discuss their single "Letdown," off of their latest album, Who Are You Now. I'm not the first to say this, but Dan seems like the cute, sensitive type (and that's not a Seattle accent), so who is he letting down?
Anyway, check out This Providence on Discover & Download -- or catch them headlining with Hey Monday on the MySpace Music Let's Make A Mess tour.
