+ Taylor Swift fans, rejoice! Last week, the country-pop star (and one-time Jonas-dater) sold over 248,000 copies of her new album, Fearless -- enough to overtake Britney's new LP on Billboard's album charts. Hey, guess not everybody loves a circus. (MTV News)
+ Former Danity Kane crooner Aubrey O'Day sez she's ready to find that special someone -- even if he just happens to be a she. (Remote Control)
+ Madonna and Guy Ritchie have issued a joint statement refuting reports of a $76 million divorce settlement. Sadly, that statement failed to disclose whether the actual number was higher or lower. WE WANT ANSWERS! (Usmagazine.com)
+ Sure, Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus made MTV's list of 2008's Top Teen Queens. But give it up for relative newcomers Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and, of course, Twilight's Kristen Stewart. Way to go, Bells! (MTV News)
+ So what's next on Miley's to-do list? Well, let's see -- she's already got the Porsche, the Hannah Montana merch and the perfect anti-paparazzi anthem. How's about winning an Oscar? (WhioTV)
+ We had no problem with Enrique Iglesias kissing a lucky female fan (other than crazy, psychotic jealousy). But we're slightly skeeved out to hear he may or may not have had a crotch-cam on him at the time. (Scandalist)
+ Jennifer Lopez and hubby Marc Anthony ditched diaper duty long enough to grab a romantic meal together in Beverly Hills. "[They] looked genuinely in love," observed one fellow restaurant-goer. Which isn't easy to do when you're busy stuffing your face with Kobe meatballs and scarfin' down tiramisu. (People)
+ Last night, Diddy threw his ex-girlfriend Kim Porter a private birthday bash in West Hollywood. Of course, when you're rollin' with the Dids, "private" is just a figure of speech. Other attendees included Lisa Gastineau and Grey's Anatomy stars Ellen Pompeo and Sara Ramirez. (E! Online)

The only thing we love more than watching a beautiful sunrise? Watching a beautiful sunrise that just happens to have muy caliente Spanish heartthrob Enrique Iglesias in the foreground. Granted, not everything in Inglesias' new video, "Away," is straight out of the pages of National Geographic (like, for instance, the violent car crash, the screaming widow and the gawking pedestrians), but the gorgeous yellow-lighting and hypnotic R&B-infused melody are (almost) enough to take us, well, away. Or at least to make us forget that this video is about Iglesias dying a horrible, fiery death -- and, more abstractly, the pain of losing someone you love.
Know what we mean? Of course you don't, which is why you oughta check out Enrique's collabo with Akon-ish producer/singer Sean Garrett (last seen with Chris Brown on Luda's "What Them Girls Like" vid) ASAP. Enjoy the pretty early morning light -- and Enrique's killer sultry stare -- but don't expect it to be all sunshine and rainbows.
And don't expect to see tennis supastar Anna Kournikova in the role of the grieving widow. We're not sure who's playing the part of Enrique's #1 gal, but we're betting she's got, like, ZERO serve-and-volley game.

Modesty has never really been Nas' thing. In 1999's "Hate Me Now," the rapper joined forces with Diddy (then "Puffy") to create a video that depicted himself as a Christ-like figure (literally -- a dude in Jesus garb getting crucified by his former peons). And his latest video, "Hero," features Nas standing over the city like some sort of larger-than-life demigod while dropping rhymes like, "The people need someone to believe in...They looking for . . . a hero / I guess that makes me . . . a hero." So does Nasty Nas live up to his own hype? To find out, we decided to take a look at a few other self-proclaimed "Heroes" and "Heroines."
First, there's Enrique Iglesias, whose corny-but-effective version of "Hero" featured a half-naked Jennifer Love Hewitt (and creepy Mickey Rourke!) and quickly became a UK #1 hit. Next up is (shudder) Nickelback, whose song of the same name graced the Spiderman soundtrack and thus triggers uncomfortable memories of Tobey McGuire in too-tight spandex. And finally, of course, let's not forget Boys Like Girls' "Hero/Heroine," the group's unabashed ode to cheesy coupledom.
So which self-assured artist is our hero?
After much thoughtful deliberation, we've gotta give this one to Nas. (Hey, sometimes a little ego isn't such a bad thing -- especially when you've got the mic skills to back it up...right, Kanye?) Besides, even if this guy's swagger does make those From G's to Gents dudes look like a bunch of pansies, he scores big points by featuring vocals from our girl, Keri Hilson and the best cinematography since Brokeback Mountain. Plus, nothing against the other contenders -- Boys Like Girls, we'll always have "Thunder" -- but in the end, Nas' reluctant hero/Bruce Wayne act trumps Nickelback's rooftop jam session and Enrique's mole any day of the week. Even if he is the Stephon Marbury of the rap game.
+ Agree? Disagree? Don't remember cause you haven't seen some of these vids since the turn of the millennium? Re-watch them all right here, and let us know who you think deserves to win the "Hero" Video Battle.
