We haven't heard a lot of new music from Alicia Keys recently, and with good reason. The lady only just gave birth to her first child--a little boy by the name of Egypt--weeks ago. And she's been busy... dying (digitally) and raising $1 million for her Keep A Child Alive African AIDS relief organization. So she's probably been mad busy feeding her baby organic baby food and dressing him up in adorable outfits and posting the pictures on Facebook. We wouldn't know. Alicia Keys didn't accept our Facebook friend request. Sniff.

That being said! We were pretty excited to get this audio post-Christmas present: It's "Speechless," a new Alicia track featuring Eve. Released as part of Swizz Beatz's (husband of Alicia Keys and father to baby Egypt) Monster Mondays series (sort of a take on Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Fridays.)

It should come as little surprise that Alicia Keys' first post-baby single is all about her new baby. And it should come as little surprise that "Speechless" is a lush, piano and electric guitar led vamp, with Alicia extolling the virtues of motherhood and Eve rapping about finding love when you least expect it.

+ Listen to Alicia Keys and Eve's "Speechless" at Monster Mondays.

With an album title like Battle Of The Sexes, you'd probably expect Ludacris' collection of new tracks to be about confrontations between men and women. There's definitely some of that, but it's also a great platform for female rappers. On most of Sexes' tracks, a lady MC or singer squares off with Luda, including the likes of Trina, Nicki Minaj, Eve, Diamond, Monica and Shawnna.

With that in mind, we were curious about Ludacris' 10 favorite female MCs. Check out the list and videos from his favorite ladies of rhyme and tell us if you agree.

By the way, if you want a taste of Ludacris' Battle of the Sexes, check out his video for "My Chick Bad" featuring Nicki Minaj.

+ Want to know what drives Lady Gaga and fuels her tireless work ethic? Curious why this innovative woman is on a fearless mission to take a over a world? The Cosmopolitan cover girl tells the magazine that part of her initial drive was to seek revenge on an old flame, saying during their break-up, "'Someday, when we're not together, you won't be able to order a cup of coffee at the f***ing deli without hearing or seeing me.'" Mission accomplished. (PopEater)

+ Rihanna's song "Rude Boy" received something of a mixed reception from fans, bloggers and culture vultures. On one hand, the song was dope, Rihanna looked great and the video matched the tune's feel. On the other hand, it looked a lot like M.I.A.'s "Boyz" clip. Now director Melina Matsoukas is responding to the criticism, claiming, "It definitely wasn't trying to rip anybody off." (MTV News)

Lily Allen will take a brief hiatus from her indefinite hiatus to play London's Wireless Festival this summer. What prompted this U-turn from Allen, who had announced her retirement from actively recording and touring earlier this month? Some guy named Jay-Z requested that she play. When duty calls... (Spinner)

+ File under mental images we'd rather not contemplate: Courtney Love recently went buckwild on Twitter, asking her followers if they ever think about having rage-fueled nookie with John Mayer—except she didn't quite put it that way. Love went on to imagine, "totally throwing him around the room in bits and then you just BAM punch him in the face? good times [sic]" Great times! (Idolator)

+ We're all about playing matchmaker and we've got our sights set on Ke$ha and English funnyman Ricky Gervais. Whaddya think, Ke$ha? "That fat guy who's in The Office? I'd hit that." Torn from the pages of a Jane Austen novel, she is. (E! Online)

+ Recording news! One of the greatest female rappers in the game, Eve, is back in the studio. That's exciting on its own, but the fact that she's in there with Canadian electro producers MSTRKRFT makes it all the more electrifying. (Rap Radar)

+ Beyonce got her Carmen Miranda on down Rio way recently. Bey is down in Brazil, shooting a part in Alicia Keys' "Put It In A Love Song" video. Check out her Carnival-themed outfit. NIce eye makeup, gurl. (Idolator)

+ In other "pop queens looking hot on the set of music videos" news, here are some shots of Rihanna from the set of her new video, "Rude Boy." Rocking a black-and-white print body suit while sitting on a (albeit fake) zebra? Next level. (We Are Pop Slags)

+ Speaking of Rihanna (and Beyonce, and tons of other fashionable celebs), ever wonder whether there's some kind of incentive for them to be front and center at certain fashion week runway shows? Sure, some of them may have just ambled in to a Bryant Park tent because they were in the neighborhood (ha!), but do you think some of them may have been (gasp) paid?! Learn all about the secretive world of under-the-runway pay-offs, Rihanna's alleged $100,000 per show rate and more. (E! Online)

+ A little bit late to the party, but funny none the less; watch Brandon T. Jackson (from Percy Jackson & The Olympians) and Eve (from awesome rap albums and movies like Whip It!), in the Twilight parody, Dark Moon. Eve's Kristen Stewart is pretty spot on, actually. (Funny or Die)

+ All Time Low have taken their sugar-coated pop-punk to England as part of the Kerrang! Tour. The tour covered much of England and Scotland and, based on the photographic evidence, Alex Gaskarth and the boys really brought the noise. (Buzznet)

+ Whoa, adventures in Photoshop alert. Check out the before-and-after looks at Madonna, from her new Louis Vuitton ad campaign. Nice bunny ears, Madge! (Dlisted)

We've got SO much to discuss regarding internationally-flavored group Paradiso Girls. I will try to remain composed, but I have such an investment in these girls that I may chick out at some point...

Let's ease in with the video for "Patron Tequila," from the quintet's debut album, Crazy Horse... Wait, first I want some credit: I was an early adopter of this track, even texting uninterested parties: I am obsessed with this ridiculous song that Keri Hilson wrote about puking from margaritas ... which is what "Patron Tequila is about.

Watch the video below for a little Eve and Lil Jon, as well as Paradiso's hip-thrusting fiend of a lead vocalist (on this track), Aria Crescendo. Now it's cool each of the five Paradiso Girls is of a separate nationality, but I'm only going to discuss two: Aria, born in Paris, raised in Transylvania (I didn't make that up), and Chelsea Korka, the group's sole United States-ian.

I remember Aria from a gay-ish music video a few years back, "Girl I Told Ya" by Valeria (just gay-ish, as in Katy Perry, wink-wink, we-might-be-two-girls-who-actually-hook-up-at-"sleepovers" gay).

Now here comes my inappropriate investment: Chelsea, if she looks familiar to you, was straight-up robbed on the first season of The Pussycat Dolls: The Search for The Next Doll. I didn't watch -- I couldn't watch -- Season 2 of that show out of outrage and protest. Chelsea was my girl; now, as a Paradiso, sweet revenge is MINE!

Anyway, like The Pussycat Dolls, Paradiso Girls is a Robin Antin production, and it was sort of built around Aria. Working with Interscope and will.i.am, Paradiso auditioned and recruited the four other members you see now. Since then, the girls scored a featured spot on DJ Space Cowboy's "Falling Down" and made their TV debut on LOGO's 2009 NewNowNext Awards. Check out the live performance, with a lead-in from none other than RuPaul. Whut?

By the way, just one year ago, Lady GaGa made her TV debut on the NNN Awards. Could be a good sign...

+ Exciting news about Madonna that has nothing to do with adoption and nannies! The Queen of Pop will be teaming up with none other than Paul Oakenfold for the U.K. and European legs of her "Sticky & Sweet" tour, as well as some new tracks on her September 2009 greatest hits album that will consist of "cutting edge sounds combined with classic Madonna."

+ Cher is finally speaking out about her daughter Chastity Bono's decision to transition from female to male. She seems to be pretty cool about the whole thing. OMG my mom would ground me for at LEAST three weeks. (Star Magazine)

+ Geography is HARD y'all!  Britney Spears slipped up and said "What's up, London?!"at the only concert she did in the U.K. 200 miles outside of London (the show was in Manchester). Let's just say the fans were not amused. (CelebWarship)

+ Twitter seems to be the sounding board for a lot of celebrities to vent their frustrations with many things. Today, rapper Eve ranted (with plenty of expletives, to boot) about that whole Chris Brown "I ain't a monster" thing we told you about yesterday. And boy did she let him have it! (BET)

When you think of hip-hop and R&B, gender equality isn't exactly the first time that comes to mind. Sure, there have been a smattering of successful female artists (Eve, Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, Lil' Kim, Foxy Brown to name a few almost all) but for the most part, the industry still operates like one giant Boys' Club. Which is why we're so proud of the lovely and talented Ashanti for becoming the first woman to get signed onto the Murder Inc record label, not to mention the first singer-turned-actress to snag a role in John Tucker Must Die. At least, as far as we know. Anyway, check out this all-new "Ladies First" video and find out more "firsts" from the Nelly-dating, platinum-selling former choir girl.
