Over the summer, Every Avenue was an MTV PUSH Artist Of The Week and we premiered their single "No One But You" from their third LP, Bad Habits. At the time, the Michigan pop-punk band was making rounds on the Vans Warped Tour.
The quintet –- singer David Ryan Strauchman, guitarists Joshua Randall and Jimmie Deeghan, bassist Matt Black and drummer Dennis Wilson -– have had a relatively fast rise since the release of their 2008 debut full-length, Shh...Just Go With It, which garnered them mtvU's The Freshman Award for the song "Where Were You?" And this year's Bad Habits made the Top 10 Billboard Alternative Albums chart. Show-offs.
The video for Every Avenue's "Fall Apart" from Bad Habits finds the group getting introspective about a relationship gone awry. As Strauchman walks through a home and unfurls the verses, art falls off walls and cups break in his wake, mirroring a relationship shattering in real time while the rest of the band plays in another room. Flashes from a trashed hallway are interspersed within the video where a woman drifts in and out of view -- a ghost still haunting "the empty space you left behind" -- as Strauchman sings. It builds to an anthemic chorus, a poignant plea from the tormented left-behind love: "I want you to fall apart like I did, you to hurt for all of this," Strauchman emotively laments. "All the pain you put me through, I wanna hear you say I don't deserve you."
Bad Habits is out now on Fearless Records.

Current MTV PUSH artist and overall cool dudes Every Avenue stopped by MTV recently to answer some questions, smell nice and look studly in front of a camera. And it was during this Q&A with frontman David Ryan Strauchman and guitarist Joshua Withenshaw when these bros dropped a beautifully serendipitous bomb on us: One of their band members has the weirdest/most random/best tattoo ever. No, seriously -- EVER. A cat and pizza are involved... in one tattoo. Keep reading!
You ready for this? Here it is: Every Avenue's bassist, Matt Black, has a tattoo on his leg of a cartoon cat seated next to a floating piece of pizza with a tiny string attached to it. (Let that process for a moment.) Yes, this is one tattoo, and yes, it looks like it was probably inked on when Matt was, shall we say, completely unsober. But regardless, this random tattoo wins every random tattoo contest ever, hands down. And I know -- I have a tattoo of a giraffe wearing sunglasses and a Hanson T-shirt riding a skateboard. OK, I made that up. But I bet someone has it.
+ Watch Every Avenue talk random tattoos and see Matt's cat/pizza tat in the video below. And be sure to check out additional interviews, songs and performances from Every Avenue over at MTV PUSH.

Last month we brought you the exclusive premiere of Every Avenue's new single, "No One But You," off their Bad Habits album. Speaking of bad habits, we've pretty much become addicted to the Michigan pop-punk band's biting, breakneck anthem, and we'd be shocked if you've been able to stop obsessing about them too. And now you don't have to, since they're this week's MTV PUSH Artist Of The Week.
Every Avenue recently released their third LP, Bad Habits, and they've been touring the country on the Vans Warped Tour. But they took some time out of their touring schedule and destructive behavior and resultant songwriting to sit down with us for some exclusive interviews.
In the first video, guitarist Joshua Withenshaw discusses how the condom cover art to "No One But You" fits into the bigger picture of the album's artwork. "We're all about safety," the guitarist says half-jokingly. Speaking of safety -- or lack thereof -- the guys are a bit reluctant to discuss the most warped thing they've seen on the Warped Tour (come on, guys!!!), but they'll gladly share all the moshing injuries they've witnessed in the medic tent. And, like anyone would be, they're more than happy to discuss the time Zooey Deschanel tweeted them. (Wouldn't you?) Plus, lest you think Every Avenue's all bad habits and Zoeey crushes, they've got a do-gooder side too, as you'll see in their MTV Act video where they discuss the organization "Keep A Breast," which empowers women to learn how to prevent and detect breast cancer.
Finally, we'll refresh your memory with "Mindset" and "Tell Me I'm a Wreck," two videos from the band's 2009 album Picture Perfect, as well as the audio clip of their new single, "No One But You."

Michigan pop-punk band Every Avenue have barely rested since the 2009 release of their second album, Picture Perfect. Now, we've got the exclusive premiere of "No One But You," the lead single from the band's upcoming album, Bad Habits.
Last time we checked in with the guys, they were being held hostage by an overzealous female fan in the video for the radio-friendly "Mindset." If "No One But You" is any indication, they've ratcheted up the guitars and gone for a harder edge. Sounding more Foo Fighters than foo-foo, "No One But You" would've been a solid mid-'90s alt-rock staple nestled between Silverchair and Filter, but the band adds in enough modern flourishes to make it work today.
Frontman David Ryan Strauchman sounds like his therapist told him to exorcise his relational demons in the studio, drawing from rock screechers like Axl Rose and Chris Cornell to emphasize his primal vocals. "I want your heart so I can break it," sings Strauchman. Side note to Strauchman's ex: Damn, what did you do? Meanwhile, drummer Dennis Wilson, anchoring the track, punishes his drum kit like it stole money off his dresser.
"No One But You" is the lead single off the group's upcoming third album, Bad Habits, out Aug. 2 on Fearless Records.

As part of MTV's Indie Music Month, we're premiering videos from some of the most exciting artists in the indie music scene. Today, we're featuring "Mindset," the new track from Michigan punk-pop quintet Every Avenue.
The video for "Mindset" is a hilarious nod to Every Avenue's prepubescent female fan base, as the band members become the kidnapping victims to an overly enthusiastic young lady. With the acumen and stealth of a professional hitman -- make that hitgirl -- the fan employs her Fisher-Price "My First Stalker" kit to snatch each band member and hold him hostage. Pizza, poison arrows and the band's own CD are all used against them, culminating in a forced rock show in a very pink bedroom.
Luckily, the guys are able to escape at the end. Or are they?
"Mindset" is actually the third single taken from the group's 2009 album Picture Perfect. It's been a minute since we last heard from the guys, who released videos for "Tell Me I'm A Wreck" and "For Always, Forever" last year.

Every Avenue's new video for "Tell Me I'm A Wreck" is full of secrets, but you won't have to look very hard to uncover them. While this Michigan pop-punk band plays its insanely catchy song, characters pose for moving portraits, while their deepest fears, regrets and hopes are displayed onscreen in a nondescript white font.
Taken from the group's 2009 album, Picture Perfect, "Tell Me I'm A Wreck" is a rather candid song, with Every Avenue singer David Strauchman admitting he "could have been easier" on his girl. For the characters in this intimate video, the text on the screen does the talking for them.
Don't worry, it's not all dirty little secrets; the second half of the video consists largely of people who have found love or inner peace. Let's hear it for happy endings!
Check out the video below. Picture Perfect is out now.

+ Demi will visit North Point Mall in Atlanta on July 24 for a meet and greet.
+ Demi will also visit the Stonebriar Centre in Dallas on August 1 for a meet and greet.
Now check out our exclusive interview with Demi Lovato and don't miss the Shop Til You Rock tour.
Buzzworthy: What's your favorite place to shop?
Demi Lovato: My favorite place to shop would have to be Urban Outfitters.
Buzzworthy: What piece of clothing or accessory is your most prized possession?
Demi Lovato: Probably my watch. It's a Jacob the Jeweler watch, and I got it for my 17th birthday. It’s got diamonds, so I don’t wear it all the time, but it’s just beautiful.
Buzzworthy: OK, what's your favorite thing to wear on stage?
Demi Lovato: I love high boots. I have a pair of Sergio Rossi boots I absolutely love. They’re amazing.
Buzzworthy: Are there any current fashion trends you're really into?
Demi Lovato: I'm really not that into trends, you know? I just kind of wear whatever I like, but I don’t really follow trends.
Buzzworthy: Is there any fashion trend you're just not into at all?
Demi Lovato: I’m really not into leggings like as pants. I see girls wearing that sometimes, and it’s fine with a dress, but not as pants! Leggings are not pants!
Buzzworthy: Who's your favorite person to shop with?
Demi Lovato: I love shopping with my friend Anna. She’ll be like “um no” when I pull out something terrible. I can't help it! I like everything when I'm shopping, so she helps me.
Buzzworthy: What did you buy the last time you went shopping?
Demi Lovato: Actually? A diamond ring. I bought it for myself. I was having a bad week the other week, and I was working a lot, and I saw it in a store in the mall when I was shooting the Shop Til You Rock promos. I asked my dad if I could buy it, and he said yes. We kind of have a tradition in my family to buy yourself something nice or get a present when you’ve worked really hard and have something to celebrate. I’m so fortunate to be so blessed and have so many things to celebrate, so I bought myself a gift. And I'm wearing it in the Shop Til You Rock promos.

There For Tomorrow is currently melting faces in Japan, but never fear. The group returns to the States on June 11 for the Rock Yourself To Sleep Tour alongside Every Avenue, Sing It Loud and The Secret Handshake.
Lucky for us, before they left for the Land of the Rising Sun, they stopped by MTV HQ to smile pretty for the camera. Check out our exclusive MTV photo gallery with the 2008 mtvU Woodie winners for Breakout Artist Of Year.
Plus, in case you missed it, watch There For Tomorrow get hooked on phonics during our Pop Punk Spelling Bee. Can you spell "adorable?"

The Midwestern pedigree of Every Avenue shines through on its debut album, "Picture Perfect." This quintet from Michigan work the same equation as Illinois power-pop pioneers Cheap Trick; make the melodies sticky sweet and pour some serious volume on top.
They may look like your average pop-punk-emo providers, but Every Avenue has a classic rock heart, one that beats to rhythm of bands like Cheap Trick, The Beatles and The Cars. On songs like "Tell Me I'm A Wreck" or the single "For Always, Forever," the band's incredible mix of classic-rock power chords (courtesy of guitarists Joshua Randall and Jimmie Deeghan) and song structures with pop-punk exuberance make for some delirious listening.
"Picture Perfect" is out now, and the band is currently taking part in the Alternative Press tour along with Never Shout Never. Check out the video for "For Always, Forever" below.

Hey! After Cute Is What We Aim For, Meg & Dia, Breathe Carolina, Every Avenue and Anarbor hit the stage at NYC's Fillmore / Irving Plaza tonight, all of the Take Action Tour bands will be running a jeans drive and doing an acoustic performance tomorrow at the DoSomething.org offices (address below)!!!
First off, I gotta tip my hat to DoSomething.org for having one of the most straightforward URLs on the internet. None of this "AOL" ambiguity. Do something. Dot org.
Also, while my hat is off, I tip my toupee to Hopeless Records. The non-profit Sub City subsidiary (!) signs bands only on the condition that they fulfill certain pro-social commitments throughout their recording and touring process. In their nine years of existence, Hopeless has raised more than 1.5 million dollars for more than 50 charities. That's $1,500,000.
Finally, I tip my dandruff to the bands on the Take Action Tour, who are clearly in it for more than free Ed Hardy t-shirts. Super cool of them to show up and get people excited about a good cause. People like me. That's right. You heard it here first. I'm excited about jeans. Here's them deets.
Take Action Tour Jeans Drive
THURS FEB 19, 4-6 PM
24-32 Union Square East | 4th Floor
New York, NY 10003
RUN! Bring jeans! Or at least wear cute underwear! More tour dates after the jump!
