Florence Welch's powerhouse voice paired with threatening percussion is the perfect score to any dramatic life moment, and judging by Florence + The Machine's new "No Light, No Light" video, from her Ceremonials album, theater abounds through voodoo dolls and boys choirs. Surely you didn't expect a sun-streaked bedroom or a skip through a field.
Like her "Shake It Out" video, "No Light, No Light" video captures Florence Welch experiencing some sort of witchcraft or supernatural occurrence (Illuminati whistle blowers, have at it!). Scenes jump back and forth from an emotional Florence experiences bursts of pain (with a killer rooftop view of city skyline, BTW), back to some creepy dude poking pins into the voodoo doll version of her. Meanwhile, tension builds as Florence is overtaken by the guy's curse, falls off the rooftop and plummets through a church ceiling only to be caught by a boys choir. No worries, girl survives and doesn't miss a beat through the traumatic event. That's when you know you have some real talent -- you can fall from a gazillion stories and still hit those high notes like it's NBD.
If we learn anything from Florence's experience, it's to never piss off a dude who knows spells and plays with dolls. We also learn that girl has some serious luck. Not only is it a rarity to survive such a dangerous experience, but she looks exceptional while being possessed. It's a major gift to pull off a curse and still look hot -- Some people just have all the talent.

It's Tuesday! Time for another round of 5 Must-Hear Pop Songs for the Week!
If you live anywhere near the New England area, you'd know that all hell truly broke loose this Halloween weekend: It snowed! Like, a lot. And suddenly everything got really cold, and all the pumpkins froze, and everything was just such a terrible mess. It was one of the weirdest Halloween celebrations I can ever remember.
To celebrate (or more appropriately, to mourn), I put together a list of must-hear pop tracks that have to do with the cold! And changing seasons. And then a song about being hotter than fire, which is really kind of the opposite effect I was going for, so...let's just go with it.
Here we go!

1.) Charli XCX, "Nuclear Seasons"
Haven't heard of Charli XCX yet? You will soon.
The young chanteuse has slowly made a splash overseas as a club kid in the London underground scene, forming some friendships in high places (acclaimed photographer Rankin considers her as a muse) and landing a spot opening for some cooler-than-cool acts including Peaches and Robyn. In June, Charli XCX dropped the stunning "Stay Away"--a goth-pop track set atop grinding, industrial synthesizers with all the pomp of a funeral procession. The song quickly became a favorite of music bloggers everywhere (and one of the year's best singles by far.)
Now, the 19-year-old goth-pop princess returns with "Nuclear Seasons," due for release later this November. "When you go, please don't leave your love in the sun/My heart will melt away," the young London-bred crooner drones in the opening lines of the hazy synth-pop gem, bringing to mind Gwen Stefani's fresh '80s-inflected solo pop. It's a lighter number than her damning lead single, but the heavy beats -- mixed with Charli's warbling vocals -- still hit a little harder than the bulk of today's radio pop.
Armed with an unexpected frankness and that undeniable "It Girl" factor, this Brit-pop enfant terrible's upcoming debut is rapidly becoming one of the most anticipated releases of 2012. + LISTEN TO CHARLI XCX, "NUCLEAR SEASONS"
2.) Florence + The Machine, "Spectrum"
Just in time to ring in the Witching Hour, everyone's favorite goddess/songstress Florence Welch has returned with her highly anticipated second studio album, Ceremonials, released on Nov. 1. Much like her debut, Lungs, the album is a triumph of epic proportions (if not even more so), chock-full of witchy cries and damning instrumentation.
"Say my name and every color illuminates/We are shining, and we will never be afraid again," Welch (and a hefty backing choir) bellows during the chorus of "Spectrum," one of the album's brightest highlights. Add in all the spooky bells and whistles (and damning howls--don't forget the damning howls) that made Welch's first attempt so spectacular, and you've got "Spectrum" -- a song that'll either make you want to throw your hands up in praise or cower under the covers in fear. Either way, it works like a charm. + LISTEN TO FLORENCE + THE MACHINE, "SPECTRUM"

There's not many women I know that don't want to be Florence + The Machine's Florence Welch. She's stunning, she's tall, and hello, her voice is basically what diamonds would sound like if they were animate objects. In her new video "Shake It Out," the lead single from the group's much-anticipated sophomore effort, Ceremonials, Florence once again makes all us ladies jeally as she "shakes it out" in couture gowns at a masquerade party at a European estate. Stop stealin' my daydreams, girl.
"Shake It Out" begins with a washed-out shot of Welch looking solemn as she prepares for the night's festivities. There are tight camera shots of partygoers putting on their masks in their floor-length dresses as Florence moves from room to room and sings of moving on: "And our love is pastured, such a mournful sound/Tonight I'm gonna bury that horse in the ground/So I like to keep my issues strong/But it's always darkest before the dawn."
After a random seance and a few creepy glances from masked men, Florence breaks free from "the devil on [her] back" and dances her troubles away with reckless abandon. Like I always said: Dancing and NyQuil are all you need to get over a breakup.

+ Sting turned 60, and to celebrate he raised money for the Robin Hood Foundation. Celebs such as Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen joined him. Peep Sting's video performances with Lady Gaga, will.i.am and Mary J. Blige here. (Neon Limelight)
+ Whoa, Taylor Swift, nice flow on those Ludacris lines. During her Atlanta show over the weekend, she invited Usher onstage to perform his smash hit "Yeah." His kids joined them onstage afterwards. Totes adorbs! (Rap-Up)
+ Drake was honored by Canada's Walk of Fame with the Allan Slaight Award, which acknowledges young Canadians making a positive impact. He donated the $10,000 prize to Dixon Hall, which helps low-income Toronto residents. Props, Drake! (Rap-Up)
+ Florence + The Machine's Florence Welch revealed they could've gone American pop on Ceremonials, but didn't: "This is too weird. I can't just suddenly leave behind everything that made [2009 debut album] 'Lungs.'" Its Nov. 1 release date can't come soon enough. (Billboard)

Today we shared our favorite fall albums in Buzzworthy's Fall Music 2011 Preview. The lineup of 29 new albums includes heavy hitters -- Drake's Take Care album, Britney's B In The Mix: The Remixes 2 remix album and Rihanna's untitled sixth studio album, due out this November -- solo efforts from Patrick Stump and Joe Jonas, and small-but-strong up-and-comers like I Fight Dragons and Allstar Weekend.
And now we wanna hear from you! Which new fall album are you most excited about?
Lovatics already sent Demi Lovato's Unbroken to No. 1. Rihanna's personal military will surely rally the troops for her upcoming sixth studio album. Meanwhile Britney Stans are breathing heavy in anticipation of Britney's B In The Mix: The Remixes 2 album. And artists like YelaWolf and J. Cole are releasing their debut albums but already attracted legions of die-hard fans.
Gym Class Heroes fans have been waiting three years for a new album after 2008's The Quilt, and Evanescence fans have been waiting HALF A DECADE for the band's third studio album. Blink-182 fans might've thought they'd never see the day that Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge would reunite for their Neighborhoods album, eight years after releasing Blink-182.
So which fall album will you have on repeat all season long? Vote in our fall 2011 album poll. We'll announce the album with the most votes on Tuesday, Oct. 4!

It's officially fall, y'all. Which means pumpkin lattes (unnecessary yet impossible to resist), bowls of free candy (dooon't mind if I do) and a superabundant stream of new albums vying for any remaining space on your iPod. So here at Buzzworthy, our music writers -- Tamar Anitai, Nicole James, Jason Newman, Jenna Rubenstein and Brad Stern -- harvested 29 of our favorite new and upcoming albums into a fall-friendly guide that's easier to digest than those weird brown candy corns.
The fall music forecast calls for dance floor fillers such as Jason Derulo's Future History, Patrick Stump's Soul Punk and Joe Jonas' Fast Life (two highly anticipated solo missions!), with high chances of comebacks like Blink-182's Neighborhoods, Evanescence's self-titled album, Gym Class Heroes' The Papercut Chronicles II and Demi Lovato's Unbroken. Expect new music by overachievers too: Britney released Femme Fatale six month ago, but that's not stopping her from dropping her remix album next month. And Rihanna will debut her sixth studio album almost a year to the day she released her Loud album, which is still riding high on the charts.
So, without further adieu or belaboring, check out Buzzworthy's Fall Music Preview 2011 -- 29 new fall albums on our radar that need to be on yours too! And vote for the fall album you're most excited about!
SAVES THE DAY, Daybreak: Saves The Day's been playing a serious game of musical chairs and contending with a constantly shifting lineup. Case in point? The band's latest album, Daybreak (featuring the title track, which is an 11-minute rock opera), is the first without longtime guitarist David Soloway and their first (and last) with temporary drummer Spencer Peterson. But Daybreak leaves no room for skeptics. There's "1984," an homage to old-school garage rock, and "O," an unassuming ballad that features lead vocalist Chris Conley literally begging to be with his woman (we'll pause for the collective "Awww"). Instant classic. -- Jenna Rubenstein
Standout songs: "1984," "O," "Undress Me"
Release date: Sept. 13
CODY SIMPSON, Coast To Coast: Perhaps best known as Australia's answer to Justin Bieber (start screaming now!), 14-year-old heartthrob Cody Simpson's about to set dozens of young hearts ablaze with the release of his second stateside EP, Coast to Coast, on Sept. 20. Channeling all the best young blond crooners -- from Jesse McCartney to Aaron Carter -- Cody Simpson's bringing straight-up R&B-pop on his latest EP, including his swoon-y springtime single "On My Mind" and his most recent release, the breakup ballad "Not Just You." With album production credits that include Danja, The Messengers and Adele hitmaker Fraser T. Smith, his musical team is more top talent than teenybopper. -- Brad Stern
Standout songs: "On My Mind," "Angel," "Not Just You"
Release date: Sept. 20
DEMI LOVATO, Unbroken: On Unbroken, her third album, Demi Lovato comes clean, inspires and experiments with something totally healthy: musical styles. Though Unbroken reflects her time getting sober and getting healthy after entering rehab in late 2010, Unbroken's both confessional and cathartic. Pulling in Timbaland, Missy Elliott and Iyaz, Demi goes dance-pop on party tracks such as "All Night Long" and "Who's That Boy" (featuring Dev) while going beneath the surface into personal territory, like on her revelatory, Phoenix-rising redemption song, "Skyscraper." Demi's definitely on the right track: Unbroken went to No. 1 within the first HOUR it was released. -- Tamar Anitai
Standout songs: "Skyscraper," "Give Your Heart A Break," "Who's That Boy"
Release date: Sept. 20

It's Tuesday! Time for another round of 5 Must-Hear Pop Songs for the Week!
Got your passport handy this time around? Good, because we're doing a lil' hop-stop around the world. This week's wrap-up features not one, but two appearances by UK rap phenomenon Tinie Tempah, a generally amazing song by an American Disney pop princess, and a surefire club smash from one of Sweden's finest.
Music: It's a global village, y'all!

1.) Florence + The Machine, "Shake It Out"
The leaves are starting to brown and wither away, the temperature's dropping steadily and the wind's beginning to howl. You know what that means: It's the return of the delightfully witchy and whimsical Miss Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine!
While the sophomore slump is a dreaded pitfall for any blossoming musician, Mizz Florence has nimbly tiptoed across that treacherous ravine with "Shake It Out," yet another unbelievable offering from the fiery chanteuse. Crafted alongside acclaimed UK producer Paul Epworth, the song builds on the winning sound that first catapulted the UK songstress to stardom with her 2009 debut, Lungs. "It's always darkest before the dawn," Welch encourages before unleashing a series of her legendary howls above tambourines and crashing drums.
Sure, cutting out your own heart and dancing off devils from your back to revitalize yourself aren't exactly the lyrical stuff of your typical Katy Perry feel-good anthem, but hey... it totally works. + LISTEN TO FLORENCE + THE MACHINE, "SHAKE IT OUT."
2.) Demi Lovato, "Unbroken"
For her third studio outing, Disney pop princess Demi Lovato's sidestepped her usual pop-rock sound, choosing to venture into all sorts of previously uncharted territory, including swagga-riffic collabos with radio-friendly R&B acts such as Iyaz and Jason Derulo.
But in between all the Timbaland beats and heartbreaking balladry lies an almighty dance-pop gem that would send Disney BFFL Selena Gomez straight into a tizzy: "Unbroken," the title track of the record, which doubles as the album's strongest offering (apart from the devastating lead single, "Skyscraper.")
"I'm going to love you like I've never been broken/I'm going to say it like it's never been spoken!" Lovato yelps with all her angst-ridden might above the song's surging electro-pop pulsations, searing with all the intensity of The Veronicas covering Brit Brit's "Hold It Against Me."
If this one's ever released as a single (as it should be -- get on it, Lovatics!), could this be Demi's first major club hit? Let's see: All-or-nothing lovey lyricism, flawless vocals and a ridiculously sick beat. You do the math. + LISTEN TO DEMI LOVATO, "UNBROKEN."
