With their haunting, epic rock sound and gothic videos (see the fire-riddled clip for "Again") we thought it might be a good idea to get to know the ordinary folks behind all the drama that is Flyleaf.
In this new episode of "The 5" Flyleaf members Jared Hartmann and lead singer Lacey give us some ordinary details about their ordinary lives. Hartmann fondly recalls the adoption of his dog, and Lacey recounts the dozens of waitress jobs that sustained her before Flyleaf went full time (seriously, if you ate a meal at a restaurant in Texas in the beginning of the decade, you probably were served by Lacey).
They also talk about bassist Pat Seals' artwork, which you can take a peek at on their most recent release, Memento Mori, which came out last month.

With their visually arresting, theatrical videos (like this one for "Again"), it's no surprise that Flyleaf love them some Halloween.
In this "Halloween Horrors" interview, Flyleaf's Lacey and Jared Hartmann talk about Halloweens past; especially the time her little bro rocked the rather utilitarian costume of "sack of trash."
Lacey also recalls the Halloween night that Flyleaf got all kitted out and played a surprise show in Waco, Texas. There's also some essential discussion on Halloween candy and the various pros and cons of Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson as fighters. Take notes, this will all be on the final! And keep your eye out for many more Halloween Horrors interviews.

Flyleaf's upcoming album, Memento Mori, out November 10, borrows its name from the Latin for "be mindful of death." Which is fine advice, albeit advice that Flyleaf is completely disregarding in their brand-new video for "Again."
The entire Texas five-piece spends most of their "Again" video engulfed in flames, charred paper, and devilish Edward Gorey drawings come to life. Drummer James Culpepper pounds away in the midst of an inferno, while singer Lacey Mosely's dress is clearly not flame-retardant.
None of this should come as a surprise to followers of Flyleaf's videography. Whether it's the raining blood of "All Around Me" or the school play from hell in "Sorrow," Flyleaf keeps the high-stakes, artful drama coming.

Usually goth-tinged, highly theatrical videos with undertones of A Clockwork Orange are the stuff of Panic At the Disco Version 1 (and, not to mention, the Dresden Dolls).
But after going the abstract expressionist route by creating a human Pollack in their last video, "All Around Me," Flyleaf's now playing Baroque dress-up in their brand-new video, "Sorrow."

Since the release of their self-titled debut album in 2005, Flyleaf's been busting their butts out on the road. And all their hard work is really paying off ... last week "All Around Me" cracked the top 40 of Billboard's Pop 100 chart (yeah, pop). Now, with the help of MTV and Rock Band, Flyleaf is crisscrossing the country on a co-headlining tour with Seether. And all the best parts are going to be shown on MTV2, where you can catch tour diaries and exclusive videos.
We caught up with Lacey Mosley, Pat Seals and Sameer Bhattacharya when they made a pit stop here at 1515 to talk about being on tour, when they're releasing a new album and what it's like playing their song "I'm So Sick" on Rock Band. See what they had to say...
Find out who Benny Hinn is and watch more of our Flyleaf interview here. Then go here to get tour dates and learn how you could win a chance to play Rock Band with Flyleaf. (How cool would that be?! Watch out, though, 'cause we hear that guitarist Jared Hartmann is a totally competitive video game junkie.)

Mesmerized by Flyleaf's video for "All Around Me"? So are we, which is why we asked all about it when we had a chance to chat with them. Do the guys secretly wear white on a regular basis? Is there a deep meaning behind the gray dress? And just how much paint did it take to get the job done? (Hint: A lot.)
See how Lacey Mosley, Pat Seals and Sameer Bhattacharya answered our burning questions. Then get lost in the video all over again.
Wondering who Benny Hinn is? Here's your answer (be prepared to be baffled).

'Tis the season for lots o' leftovers. Yesterday we gave you some yummy tidbits about Flyleaf, our Artist of the Week, and now we wanna serve you a heaping helping of what's left of the interview we did with Angels & Airwaves' Tom DeLonge at the TRL Rock Band special. So sit back, loosen your belt and enjoy…
Buzzworthy: What artists are you listening to these days?
Tom DeLonge: I was forced to listen to the new [Bruce] Springsteen record and I loved it. Forced in a beautiful way -- it was the only CD in the car. I love him. And I'm listening to a lot of Frank Sinatra right now because I'm always trying to relax.
BW: Do you play a lot of video games?
TD: No. My brother does, though.
BW: When you're on the road, what are some must-haves on your tour bus?
TD: We rent a bus when we go on tour, so they're always different. But we always have satellite, a DVD player. I usually try to have a shower on there, too. As a band, we try to stay close, so we all shower together. [Laughs.]

You guys just can't seem to get enough of Flyleaf, our Artist of the Week. Whatever we put down, you Hoover up faster than you can say "Kate Moss." So it's only fitting that we provide you with some leftovers from our interview with Lacey Mosley and Pat Seals during last month's TRL Rock Band special. Think of it as a belated Xmas gift from us to you…
Buzzworthy: Do you guys constantly write new songs when you're on the road?
Lacey Mosley: We all write individually.
Pat Seals: We haven't had a real good session where we all sit around and really, like, flesh things out as a band. A little less than a year ago we cranked out some new songs but it's gonna be awhile before we have enough material [for a new album].
LM: We're totally, like, longing to get that done because obviously we've been working this record for two years now. But it's crazy the way it developed from something so small…
BW: A steady build seems like the best way to do it…
PS: Yeah, we've been real blessed. We've gotten to cherish each step of the way. We don't take anything for granted. We were in a van forever, even after the record came out…
LM: I remember when we were touring with Staind and Aaron Lewis was like, "You guys are in a van? This is a bus tour; you can't tour in a van on a bus tour."

When we went down to Belton, Texas to film Flyleaf for their Artist of the Week appearance, we didn't expect to leave with quite as much as we got, which was an overwhelming amount of goodwill and generosity so real that you couldn't fake it even if you wanted to.
The five-piece hard rock band, fronted by lead singer Lacey Mosley, and known for their Christian values, first started out in the music biz driving through blizzards with a mattress strapped to the roof of their car just to play a show and have something to sleep on that night. Today they're headlining Family Values with their gut-wrenchingly honest, painfully poignant, and at times even sexy breed of alt-metal, backed by aggression, intellect and, above all else, hope.
