Adam Levine performs during the Super Bowl XLVI Pepsi Fan Jam in Indianapolis.
While you're spending pre-Super Bowl hours excitedly planning your Dorito spread, Adam Levine has been busy getting fans hyped for the big event by performing at the Super Bowl XLVI Pepsi Fan Jam Concert in Indianapolis. The "Moves Like Jagger" singer made a surprise cameo during the Gym Class Heroes' performance and was snapped awaiting compliments on how good he looks in a white T-shirt lending an ear to the audience. What a sweetheart.
In case you were wondering whether the Maroon 5 singer will be partaking in Super Bowl junk food gorging this weekend, based on this shirtless pic of Adam, we're gonna have to answer with a big, flawless six-pack of "NOPE." Besides, he's going to be super busy wooing the audience with his own band while singing "Never Gonna Leave This Bed" during Fox's pregame show. If that's not a good enough reason to watch football this weekend, we've got nothing else for you.

Gym Class Heroes are really into collaborations right now, guys. First, they grabbed Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine for their track “Stereo Hearts," then they got OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder on "The Fighter." Now they've teamed up with pop goddess and "Gucci Gucci" cover queen Neon Hitch.
GCH and Neon's collabo is titled "Ass Back Home," and it's the second single off Gym Class' latest album, The Papercut Chronicles II. Both the song and the video speak of the hardships that come with being in a long-distance relationship and wishing that your loved one's ass was, well, back home where it belongs. Shot while Neon and GCH were on tour in Europe, a fiery redhaired Neon Hitch plays Travie McCoy's love interest as she cries: "I don't know where you're going/Or when you're coming home.../I don't know where you're going/Get your ass back home."
In his own words, Travie explained to Ryan Seacrest, who premiered the video yesterday: "'Ass Back Home' is all about trying to keep a relationship going while we're all out on the road all the time. The song was actually inspired by Matt's [Gym Class Heroes' drummer] relationship with his girlfriend and realizing why he is so zen on the road."
OK, sure, maybe saying "Get your ass back home" isn't the gentlest way to beg your significant other to come back to you, but it's a blunt and direct approach that we completely appreciate. Our suggestion is that you hop on a plane, Segway, golf cart or whatever the eff it takes to get yo' asses back home to your boyfriends and girlfriends. Like, STAT. And bring some damn flowers while you're at it.

The year 2011 is quickly, sadly, drawing to a close. Except it's not sad! We're moving ahead with the speed of an iPhone 4S! And before you let separation anxiety and fear of change get the best of you -- no one looks adorable pouting in a party hat -- let's take a moment to reflect on the year in pop music. Being MTV Buzzworthy, the home of all things pop, we took an exhausting, in-depth look the biggest trends in pop music in 2011. It wasn't an easy job, but... it's actually our job! So, here are the songs, sounds and stars who were all over pop music in 2011.
EPIC COVERS
+ Everyone covered and/or remixed "Marvin's Room": Drake did it first, but Chris Brown remixed it, Teyana Taylor covered it, and R&B singer Sammie covered it. Paula DeAnda put out "I Can Do Better," and even CODY SIMPSON put his spin on "Marvin's Room" with "Evenings In London." But no one did it better than JoJo. Even Drake agreed.
+ Everyone covered Lil Wayne's “How to Love”: Justin Bieber made an acoustic remix of "How To Love", Demi Lovato covered "How To Love" on VH1's Top 20 Live, pop solo singer Tinashe and R&B singer Brandon Hines (who is INCREDIBLE, btw) all covered Weezy's heartbreaker.
+ Taylor Swift covered EVERYONE: Over the course of her seemingly endless "Speak Now" tour, Taylor covered Britney, T.I.'s "Live Your Life," Eminem, Nelly, Usher, Bieber, Shawn Colvin, Jimmy Eat World, Switchfoot, Nicki Minaj, Flo Rida, Uncle Kracker (!!!) and even Bryan Adams, often bringing out artists as surprise guests.
EPIC VIDEOS
+ Pop stars put out videos like MACHINES: Beyonce put out SIX official videos this year! Eight if you count her Live At Roseland DVD performance videos. Rihanna and Pitbull put out five videos, six if you count "Fly" with Nicki Minaj. Britney put out four videos, Lady Gaga put out FOUR videos (probably five, since "Marry The Night" is due out any minute, and six if you count her "The Lady Is A Tramp" duet with Tony Bennett, Bruno Mars released four videos, and Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj put out three videos each.
+ Everyone made SUPER dramatic, cinematic videos: Katy Perry's "The One That Got Away" video featured a heartbreaking ending we didn't see coming, Dr. Dre's "I Need A Doctor" video featured a car crash, death and a return to life, Britney's "Criminal" video was shot like a modern-day Bonnie & Clyde, and Rihanna's "We Found Love" terrified us in a very Darren Aronofsky kind of way.
EPIC TOURS
+ 30 Seconds To Mars played everywhere: Seriously, these guys played 135 shows in 2011 alone. By the time December 7 rolls around, they'll set a world record for most shows played within a single album cycle. Top that.
+ Britney Spears lap-danced everyone: Every seat in the house on Britney's "Femme Fatale" tour is a good seat, but one seat in particular was the best seat in the house. The chair (actually, it's a bed?) Britney put centerstage, upon which very special guests were treated to a lap dance. Very lucky fans got a lap dance from Britney, and so did some celebrity VIPs: Britney gave Joe Jonas a lap dance, Jason Trawick got a special ride, and DJ Pauly D enjoyed a lap dance from Britney too.
EVERYTHING GOT EMO AND/OR OKAY
+ Hip-hop got introspective: For every swag-brag record there were real-talk, real-problems introspective tracks, like Jay-Z and Kanye West's “Welcome To The Jungle” (and most of Watch The Throne, for that matter), Eminem/ Bad Meets Evil's "Lighters," and Lil Wayne's "How To Love," plus sad songs by Drake (most tracks, but especially "Doing It Wrong"), Kid Cudi's 2 Be Continuum's navel-gazey "No One Believes Me," and Lupe Fiasco's conscious "Words I Never Said."
+ Pop music got introspective: I'm okay, you're okay, we're all okay, okay? was a recurrent theme in pop music, from Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" to Demi Lovato's epic "Skyscraper" to Pink's "F****** Perfect" reminded us that we all have insecurities, and that we're all perfect the way we are.

Gym Class Heroes haven't even released their forthcoming The Papercut Chronicles II album, but their first single “Stereo Hearts" has already sold 1 million copies! Not too shabby for an album that DOESN'T EVEN EXIST YET!
GCH's new song "The Fighter" features OneRepublic frontman and consummate songwriter-producer Ryan Tedder. The song begins with bright synths, and its sweeping uplifting vibe kind of makes you think that you're about to hear a Coldplay or David Guetta song. Instead of hot chicks and partying, Travie McCoy rhymes about hardship and how you gotta keep your head up no matter what: "Every time you fall/It's only making your chin strong.../If you fall, pick yourself up off the floor/And when your bones can’t take no more/Just remember what you’re here for." I'm super into that mantra right now, guys.
Ryan Tedder sings the hook and supports Travie's crusade to carpe diem: "Give 'em hell/Turn their heads/Gonna live life till we're dead/Give me scars/Give me pain.../There goes the fighter!/Here comes the fighter!" I'm really hoping they decide to make a video for this song -- the way I see it, Travie and Ryan end up in a boxing ring wearing those shiny satin boxing outfits. They're dripping sweat, and fake blood is flying everywhere as each dude retreats to their corner to have water spritzed in their mouth and their cuts sewn up. This might only work for my own personal fantasy, not sure.
The Papercut Chronicles II is out Nov. 15.

With only a week left until the Nov. 15 release of their much-anticipated The Papercut Chronicles II album, I caught up with Gym Class Heroes to talk about the prospect of releasing their fifth full-length album in a decade and to look back at the early days of their musical career in upstate New York, when they were signed to Fueled By Ramen back in 2004. "We were very broke at the time," recalled drummer Matt McGinley. "It was one of the most exciting points of our career." In our interview, the band members reveal that even with a No. 1 hit single, they're just as humble as in the days of The Papercut Chronicles.
"We set out to make ourselves happy first and foremost, our friends secondly and the world third. And that's kinda been our formula for winning," Travie McCoy explained of the band's mission, which doubles as their advice for new artists hoping to replicate Gym Class' success.
And while The Papercut Chronicles II could easily be Gym Class Heroes' biggest album to date (there's the runaway success of "Stereo Hearts" and what should prove to be fail-safe production by top talent such as Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco), Travie pointed to the band's musical growth as the approach to creating this album and maintaining staying power.
"It's a natural progression... with every album," Travie explained. "Like Outkast. They don't necessarily reinvent or re-create themselves with every album. It's a natural progression, a natural growth. (Like) Red Hot Chili Peppers -- there's definitely a signature Chilli Peppers sound, but every album they put out they're pushing themselves. It's the sign of a band that's gonna be around for a while or have an impact. That's all we wanna do. We wanna make music we're stoked on and leave our mark."

OK, whose totally brill idea was it to pair Gym Class Heroes with Oh Land? They should get a medal, or at least 20 percent of the copyright or something. Gym Class Heroes are prepping for the release of their forthcoming album The Papercut Chronicles II, out Nov. 15, and their super dreamy collabo with Oh Land, "Life Goes On" will undoubtedly be a standout track. Though you never would have guessed, Gym Class Heroes' grungy hip-hop vibe pairs really well with the sparkly, dreamy tone of Oh Land's voice.
Set to a slow but powerful hip-hop track, Travie McCoy rhymes about his everlasting commitment to his new gal: "Thinking what I would have done different/Not a damn thing/'Cause finally I'm done with it/Besides, I got a girl that adores me/And I never take for granted the things she does for me.../Let's go ahead with these wedding plans." Oh Land pops up to sing the song's hook, which is all about taking life by the proverbial cajones: "Oh, when the day is gone/Oh, when the nights are long/Life goes on/Gotta live it up till its gone/Cause we won't be around too long/Life goes on." Later, Travie and Oh Land come together for a quick duet on the bridge and really drive home the song's message: "We take too much for granted.../I just can't understand it/Is it really that hard to smile?"
Great call on using a dope song to remind everyone to seize the day, guys. Life DOES go on so carpe effing diem.

Featured in our Fall Music Preview, Gym Class Heroes' forthcoming album, The Papercut Chronicles II, is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated albums of the fall. Perhaps it's because Gym Class die-hards freaked a little when Travie McCoy went solo or because the album's lead single “Stereo Hearts" features the smooth-ass vocals of Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, but whatever the reason, the buzz surrounding GCH's forthcoming disc is unmistakable.
Now Gym Class Heroes' new jam "Martyrial Girl$" is taking us in a different direction. Sonically, "Martyrial Girl$" is harsher than the sugary sweet vibe of "Stereo Hearts" as it features the gritty guitars and grimy filters to create the punk-rock sound GCH was originally known for, boding well for the rest of the album. In Travie's own words, "It's definitely a well-rounded album. It's not just a few singles here or there and some filler. It's got some reoccurring themes from the first Papercut Chronicles, musically and lyrically." Per its title, "Martyrial Girl$" speaks to materialism and how uncomfortable it makes Travie: "Cause I'd rather be sedated/Than conversate about whose sneakers are more outrageous/Or whose outfit's the latest."
We know you're not into expensive designer duds, Trav, but considering your album's lead single "Stereo Hearts" has already sold a million copies, you could, if you wanted to, buy me the new Chanel bag yourself some dope new threads. Just a suggestion!

Today we shared our favorite fall albums in Buzzworthy's Fall Music 2011 Preview. The lineup of 29 new albums includes heavy hitters -- Drake's Take Care album, Britney's B In The Mix: The Remixes 2 remix album and Rihanna's untitled sixth studio album, due out this November -- solo efforts from Patrick Stump and Joe Jonas, and small-but-strong up-and-comers like I Fight Dragons and Allstar Weekend.
And now we wanna hear from you! Which new fall album are you most excited about?
Lovatics already sent Demi Lovato's Unbroken to No. 1. Rihanna's personal military will surely rally the troops for her upcoming sixth studio album. Meanwhile Britney Stans are breathing heavy in anticipation of Britney's B In The Mix: The Remixes 2 album. And artists like YelaWolf and J. Cole are releasing their debut albums but already attracted legions of die-hard fans.
Gym Class Heroes fans have been waiting three years for a new album after 2008's The Quilt, and Evanescence fans have been waiting HALF A DECADE for the band's third studio album. Blink-182 fans might've thought they'd never see the day that Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge would reunite for their Neighborhoods album, eight years after releasing Blink-182.
So which fall album will you have on repeat all season long? Vote in our fall 2011 album poll. We'll announce the album with the most votes on Tuesday, Oct. 4!

It's officially fall, y'all. Which means pumpkin lattes (unnecessary yet impossible to resist), bowls of free candy (dooon't mind if I do) and a superabundant stream of new albums vying for any remaining space on your iPod. So here at Buzzworthy, our music writers -- Tamar Anitai, Nicole James, Jason Newman, Jenna Rubenstein and Brad Stern -- harvested 29 of our favorite new and upcoming albums into a fall-friendly guide that's easier to digest than those weird brown candy corns.
The fall music forecast calls for dance floor fillers such as Jason Derulo's Future History, Patrick Stump's Soul Punk and Joe Jonas' Fast Life (two highly anticipated solo missions!), with high chances of comebacks like Blink-182's Neighborhoods, Evanescence's self-titled album, Gym Class Heroes' The Papercut Chronicles II and Demi Lovato's Unbroken. Expect new music by overachievers too: Britney released Femme Fatale six month ago, but that's not stopping her from dropping her remix album next month. And Rihanna will debut her sixth studio album almost a year to the day she released her Loud album, which is still riding high on the charts.
So, without further adieu or belaboring, check out Buzzworthy's Fall Music Preview 2011 -- 29 new fall albums on our radar that need to be on yours too! And vote for the fall album you're most excited about!
SAVES THE DAY, Daybreak: Saves The Day's been playing a serious game of musical chairs and contending with a constantly shifting lineup. Case in point? The band's latest album, Daybreak (featuring the title track, which is an 11-minute rock opera), is the first without longtime guitarist David Soloway and their first (and last) with temporary drummer Spencer Peterson. But Daybreak leaves no room for skeptics. There's "1984," an homage to old-school garage rock, and "O," an unassuming ballad that features lead vocalist Chris Conley literally begging to be with his woman (we'll pause for the collective "Awww"). Instant classic. -- Jenna Rubenstein
Standout songs: "1984," "O," "Undress Me"
Release date: Sept. 13
CODY SIMPSON, Coast To Coast: Perhaps best known as Australia's answer to Justin Bieber (start screaming now!), 14-year-old heartthrob Cody Simpson's about to set dozens of young hearts ablaze with the release of his second stateside EP, Coast to Coast, on Sept. 20. Channeling all the best young blond crooners -- from Jesse McCartney to Aaron Carter -- Cody Simpson's bringing straight-up R&B-pop on his latest EP, including his swoon-y springtime single "On My Mind" and his most recent release, the breakup ballad "Not Just You." With album production credits that include Danja, The Messengers and Adele hitmaker Fraser T. Smith, his musical team is more top talent than teenybopper. -- Brad Stern
Standout songs: "On My Mind," "Angel," "Not Just You"
Release date: Sept. 20
DEMI LOVATO, Unbroken: On Unbroken, her third album, Demi Lovato comes clean, inspires and experiments with something totally healthy: musical styles. Though Unbroken reflects her time getting sober and getting healthy after entering rehab in late 2010, Unbroken's both confessional and cathartic. Pulling in Timbaland, Missy Elliott and Iyaz, Demi goes dance-pop on party tracks such as "All Night Long" and "Who's That Boy" (featuring Dev) while going beneath the surface into personal territory, like on her revelatory, Phoenix-rising redemption song, "Skyscraper." Demi's definitely on the right track: Unbroken went to No. 1 within the first HOUR it was released. -- Tamar Anitai
Standout songs: "Skyscraper," "Give Your Heart A Break," "Who's That Boy"
Release date: Sept. 20

This summer we brought you Gym Class Heroes' bangin' new single and video "Stereo Hearts," featuring Maroon 5's Adam Levine. Co-produced by hitmaker Benny Blanco and duo ROBOPOP (Lana Del Rey, CashCash) the original version was like, stuck in our heads for forever so we weren't actually convinced it could get any better. Well, we were wrong -- "Stereo Hearts" just got a makeover courtesy of Canadian singer Anjulie, and we're all about it. The new version still prominently features Adam Levine's vocal on the hook but it intertwines Anjulie's vocals and singy-speaky rhymes, adding a hip-hop flair to the track.
In her creative remake, Anjulie rhymes about her (imaginary?) famous powerhouse BF: "Let me introduce you to my boyfriend/Yeah, I know you heard of him/All over your TV/And the paparazzi murder him." According to Anjulie, while this hot celeb dude could have dated an "A-list, bombshell model chick," he likes her "quick wit." See? Not alllll famous people are into models. Score one for Team Normal.
At the end of the record, the topic switches to Anjulie's budding music career and her dedication to making it big: "To keep on climbing higher/I have to sing even wider.../I've never been more inspired/No I've never been more on fire/Turn my mic on." Clearly, her "newcomer" status doesn't phase Anjulie one bit as it sounds like she's got all the confidence of a pop music veteran. Get it, gurl.
