I'm not ashamed to admit I'm one of those weirdos who actually likes to clean. OK, I love it. I worship at the altar of my Swiffer WetJet. I get giddy when I buy refills of Mrs. Meyer's all-purpose cleaner. And sometimes I make a mess just so I have something to tidy up.

See, when I put on my cleaning hat*, I also put on my set of dirt-fighting jams to keep me pumped while I scrub and shake my groove thing while I'm pushing the vacuum. So if you're looking for tunes to help you shimmy with your shammy too, might I recommend the following songs from Ida Maria, Hellogoodbye, Two Door Cinema Club and Phoenix.

(* I don't really have a cleaning hat, but that might be worth looking into. Maybe something like this, perhaps?)

Also, if you'd like to keep up with all my musings, please visit my website and follow me on Twitter (@redpatterndress).

1.) Ida Maria's "Let's Leave": I absolutely loved Ida's debut LP, Fortress Round My Heart, and her follow-up, Katla, does not disappoint. I can't say I'm surprised, though, considering that it's produced by pop-rock maestro Butch Walker. When it comes to my favorite song on the album, I'm caught between "Let's Leave," which is a high-octane romp about a roll in the hay, and "I Eat Boys Like You For Breakfast," for obvious reasons. However, for the sake of this cleaning playlist, I have to go with "Let's Leave," which boasts lyrics like "baby, let's stay in" and "going out is overrated." I couldn't have said it better myself -- especially when there's a pile of dishes in the sink.

2.) Hellogoodbye's "When We First Met": I don't like to do a lot of heavy thinking when I'm cleaning. (That's what yoga's for! Kidding... Sorta.) That's why I don't listen to anything that requires a lot of my attention when I'm focusing on making my apartment sparkle. Take "When We First Met," for example. It's a sweet toe-tapping pop song about how a relationship is charted by a girl's hair growth and various haircuts. In other words, it's the perfect background musical fodder for me to concentrate on capturing all the dust bunnies that keep procreating under my couch.

3.) Two Door Cinema Club's "Something Good Can Work": There's nothing more satisfying than a good hate-clean. You know what I mean: A "hate-clean" happens when when life gets you so pissed that you have to take out your anger on something, anything... So instead of going for a walk and inevitably punching random people in the face, why not take out your aggression on the bathroom grout or that annoying watermelon juice stain on your white rug? I like to turn on this song when I'm about to embark on a good hate-clean sesh, not only because it's easy to keep your magic eraser abrading in time to the beat, but it's such a positive track that your scowl will turn upside down in no time.

4.) Phoenix's "1901": While I completely stand by "1901" being a must-listen for anyone attempting to get their abode in tip-top shape, I feel that I should offer the following caveat: While listening to "1901," you might notice a lull in actual cleaning. I say this because every time I cue up this song and try to sort my clothes for an upcoming trip to the laundry mat, a small head bob eventually evolves into a full-blown bedroom dance party, population: 1. Then, before I know it, I'm sweating and my limbs hurt from being flailed around in every direction. Consider yourself warned.

So maybe you heard Britney Spears' "Till The World Ends" about 100 million times this weekend because most of the country can finally open their windows and you happen to live down the hall from a couple of Britney-obsessed boys. (That can't just be applicable to me.) But before you switch back to repeated listening of the rest of Femme Fatale, give this "Till The World Ends" remix by The Morning Benders a listen.

There's something here for everyone, even you less-zealous Britney Spears fans (do those exist?). The Morning Benders, an indie rock group out of New York, slowed down the notoriously dance-y "Till The World Ends" quite a few notches. Britney's vocals are still featured, but The Morning Benders stripped away some of the pounding beats and added their own laid-back, electro-pop instrumentals to the track -- Owl City and Hellogoodbye fans, make room on your iPods ASAP.

If Britney Spears' "Till The World Ends" is Red Bull, The Morning Benders' remix is the chamomile tea version, and that's totally a compliment. Slowing a track down while keeping the essential basics intact is tough, but The Morning Benders managed to do it, and they did it well.

Sure, I love a good celebrity train wreck story just as much as the next girl, but I have to admit that it really warms my cold, black heart when I read about celebs making a difference. It's great when people use their fame for a good cause -- instead of just scoring free stuff at Kitson.

However, you don't have to be famous to be philanthropic. If you're looking to give back, any of the celeb-endorsed charities below would love to have you! (Exits soapbox ... )

1.) INVISIBLE CHILDREN: Invisible Children was started to educate the world about the war in Uganda where children are abducted and forced to join, fight and possibly die in the Lord's Resistance Army. What originally started with a documentary (also titled "Invisible Children"), telling the story of this horrific genocide, has launched a worldwide movement that has made a huge difference in attempting to end the turmoil in East Africa.

2.) TO WRITE LOVE ON HER ARMS: Started by Jamie Tworkowski in 2006, To Write Love On Her Arms is a nonprofit that aims to provide hope and support for those participating in self-injury and dealing with depression, addiction and thoughts of suicide. Tworkowski even won the mtvU Good Woodie Award in 2009 for his work with the organization. Watch a behind-the-scenes clip about his nomination in the video below.

3.) SHIRTS FOR A CURE: When rock photographer Mark Beemer's wife passed away from breast cancer, he decided to start the Syrentha J. Savio Endowment and Shirts For A Cure, an organization that offers financial aid to underprivileged women fighting breast cancer. Bands donate exclusive shirt designs, and profits from the sale of these limited-edition tees go toward providing breast cancer medicine and therapy for those in need.

4.) TAKE THE WALK: Something as simple as a pair of shoes can change someone's life. It's that thought that inspired the Hanson brothers to team up with TOMS shoes and start their Take The Walk campaign, which encourages young people all over the world to participate in barefoot walks that promote the end of poverty and AIDS in Africa. With the help of fans and volunteers, Hanson have already circled the world once and have no intention of stopping there. To take the first step and learn more about the organization, watch the short documentary below.

The Bamboozle concert brand is slowly taking over the nation. First, there's the original Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which takes place May 1-2. Then, to make sure the West Coast didn't feel neglected, the fest started Bamboozle Left in Irvine, California, which goes down this March 27-28. Plus, this year marks the first Midwest version of the series, which is happening in Chicago on May 15.

Finally, in case you don't live in any of those three areas, there's always the traveling Bamboozle Roadshow, which is a month-long summer tour featuring headliners like All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, LMFAO and Third Eye Blind. If your brain didn't already explode from all that pop-rock goodness, then hold on to your beanies because the Roadshow will also feature a rotating stable of support bands in each city, including Good Charlotte, Hellogoodbye, Hanson, Forever The Sickest Kids, Cartel and more.

The tour's pre-sale will run from Tuesday, March 2nd at 10 a.m. local time through Friday, March 5th at 10 p.m. local time. Tickets will then be available to the general public starting Saturday, March 6th at 10 a.m. local time.

Check out Bamboozle Roadshow tour dates after the jump. Read more...

Virginia indie-pop band My Favorite Highway made a name for itself without a label push -- a name as in 100,000-plus in digital sales -- and while a record deal is usually the pot o' gold, it's nice to know you can make it without them.

That's not to say the gigs always flowed freely for this crew; they still recall playing venues in meth lab-ville. But come on -- that just indicates a band with the ultimate band experience -- and is part of why My Favorite Highway is totally Buzzworthy Obsession-worthy. (And I swear I won't just talk about the hot drummer ... although I am following his Twitter now.)

If the self-made story's not enough for you, know that the debut video from My Favorite Highway, "Say So," is a tribute to Ferris Bueller's Day Off -- which sold me faster than you can say "Rooney!"

I also love "Say So" because it's the ultimate in solid melody-writing: With clear vox from lead singer David Cook (uh, yeah... I'm not saying he should have changed his name, but I wonder if he voted for Archuleta...), listening to "Say So" is just a sing-along, top-down good time.

And yes, this video and My Favorite Highway's album, How to Call a Bluff , have some extra shekels thanks to backing by Virgin Records, but the new record's not all that different than the one the boys self-released in July 2008. There was a little re-mastering involved, and the addition of two new songs "Go" and "Dreamer," but David's songwriting got play on The Hills and The City on its own merits.

And no more meth den appearances for this crew! The guys are currently touring with The Cab and will team up with HelloGoodbye in August. My Favorite Highway also recently confirmed a few opening dates in September with one, Kelly Clarkson. Sweet!

For a one-man band, The Secret Handshake sure manages to make a lot of noise. He's productive, too! Luis Dubuc's electro-pop bedroom project, which matches energy with the likes of Cobra Starship, Hellogoodbye and Boys Like Girls, is also responsible for two full-length albums, two EPs, and a mixtape.

His massive sound and output have landed The Secret Handshake multiple record deals, enviable Billboard chart positions, and an opening spot on tour with The Cab this summer.

In the brand-new video for "All For You," Dubuc and his touring band lead costumed revelers in off-the-wall house party action. Between performance clips, Dubuc spends some quality time dancing through town with a little girl and her pink umbrella (who kinda looks like Lady Sovereign). See if you can figure out what they're up to in the "All For You" video below!
