Between Busta's recent label drama and Nas' entire album and media maelstrom, the two rappers have been embroiled in a fountainhead of controversy. MTV staff writer timmhotep aku sat down with Busta, who traded in the beef for poultry -- in particular, his guest spot on Nas' new track, "Fried Chicken." See what timmhotep had to say about interviewing Busta, and check out the interview below that.
Embattled, controversial and brolic. Those are words I never thought I'd use to describe Busta Rhymes, an emcee who recounted high school hijinks as a teenaged Leader of the New School in the early '90s and reinvented himself as a cartoonish energy god later on that decade. Fast-forward to 2008: new and improved, jacked and dread-less Busta has been through a couple years of legal trouble and the bad press it brings. So when I sat down to interview the self-proclaimed "Best Rapper In Existence," I skipped the drama to talk about what he does best: rap. Check him out as talks about his skills getting slept on and collaborating with his homeboy Nas on one of the best hip-hop concept songs we've heard in a while.
The Las Vegas pop-rockers help you tell their Alexes apart (no joke -- there are three of them), and do several mash-up impressions of Pete Wentz crossed with Yoda.
Check out the Cab's exclusive Buzzworthy interview, and watch their star-studded "One of Those Nights" video, which, of course, features several Pete cameos.

Miley Cyrus was an exhausted little triple threat when she visited MTV -- understandably, since the 15-year-old works harder than most adults we know and was frantically rushed around town doing interviews and appearances to support her brand-new album, Breakout. And like another former teen queen who got her start in Disney, everyone wanted a piece of her, from other bloggers, to those employed by Team Miley's around-the-clock operation.
So, after several hours of waiting in line for our few allotted minutes with her, a tie-tie My Cy, who'd changed out of a maxi dress and grey socks into the cute pink party frock you saw on TRL, perked up and happily answered the fan questions you submitted. And sorry -- not even Damien could get an answer out of her about who "7 Things" is about...
Check out our exclusive Miley Cyrus video interview below, and see if she answered your question. Our favorite is the answer for "what's the strangest thing a fan ever gave you?" And we're now fearing a phone call from PETA.

Like us, Colby O'Donis is both simultaneously intrigued and mystified by Lady Gaga, who delivered a laser-sharp performance surrounded by a bunch of beauty queens attempting to dance in bikinis and heels at the Miss Universe pageant this past Sunday.
Colby referred to the avant garde artiste as "very abstract" and confirmed that Gaga's glittery, latexed look isn't just for show: "It's not just a front for the camera," he said. "She's like that every day! She'll probably be home, and like most people are in pajamas, but she's probably wearing, like, a tight leather outfit, relaxing on her couch in like these extreme glasses!" Right you are, Colby. She's a one-woman couture culture club.
Watch our exclusive, in-depth exploration into the depths of Lady Gaga's fashion-of-the-future style (truly, we'd punch a toddler for those Marni heels), and then check out a bonus video of Lady Gaga discussing her favorite places to shop -- and party -- in New York City. Plus: Watch Lady Gaga discuss working with the New Kids on the Block and check out her first Buzzworthy interview and photos here.

Backstage at TRL today, The Game made time for us while he was getting his hair buzzed. Over the hum of the trimmer, he assured us that his next album, LAX (out July 8), will really truly be his last (for now.) And we took the opportunity to talk to the Black Wall Street CEO about the crap-ass economy: "It's crazy the times we're living in now. Everything's high, and money's lower. Even for me. It affects everyone from a janitor to a millionaire rap star. The gas prices are ridiculous I'm looking at $5 before the end of next year, but that's just me," The Game said. "It's preposterous. Everything's going up, but the money's not changing. It's starting to affect people in a big way. I'd like to see it change, not just for me but for American individuals as a whole."
Still, you gotta stay in touch, which is why the The Game just bought a Sidekick to replace his broken iPhone. Despite our friendly reminder that the next iPhone's just around the corner, The Game was undeterred: "I've had the last of the iPhone," he said. "It's always something wrong with my iPhone. So I'm done with iPhones, back to the Sidekick. Because I'm scared of that BlackBerry."
And speaking of things that buzz, we caught up with Shwayze right before they took the stage to perform their summer single, "Buzzin'," and they told us about their weirdest music moment yet: "We played Wango Tango," Cisco Adler said. "It was our biggest show ever. It was 20,000 people, and it was wild. We played in between Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers, which was very apropos. Hopefully we can sell as many records as them. But we're definitely having more fun."
See for yourself -- check out Shwazye, The Game and Chris Brown (Chris Brown!!) in today’s exclusive Spankin’ New Music Week backstage video, and check out Shwayze "Buzzin'" live.

We were temporarily blinded by flashbulbs (or whatever flashes are made of these days), backstage at TRL today. The backstage hallway lit up like the fourth of July every time Katy Perry stepped out of her dressing room in her apple-green romper (by Brooklyn upstart Mandate of Heaven). Seriously, cameras were invented to photograph that girl. Katy's reaction when we told her about the alleged Amy Winehouse sex tape?
"WHAT? If there's anyone who needs to be saved, it's honeychild! Blake!!! Whenever I've hung over, rarely as of late, I'm always like BLAAAAKE!"
Also overheard: Ashanti, belting to the heavens, warming up for her dynamo performance, which curiously involved back-up dancers interpreting the patterns of a dysfunctional relationship. Speaking of functional relationships, she told us a little about working with Nelly on her brand-new album, The Declaration. "Nelly definitely supported me a lot," Ashanti said. "I learned a lot about him as a musical person, trying different things in the studio, the whole creative part."
And, Metro Station's Trace Cyrus told us, "For some reason I've been into a lot of R&B lately. A lot of old Joe. I've been listening to the new Usher album non-stop. The-Dream -- his whole album is freaking amazing. And I'm really excited for the new Lil Wayne album."
But enough talk. Check out Metro Station, Katy Perry and Ashanti backstage at TRL today, and see what else the Buzz Cam picked up in today's exclusive Spankin' New Music Week backstage video:

Ne-Yo -- still warm from the Spankin' New stage lights after his TRL performance with Plies today -- made room for us on the couch in the MTV Studios green room, where he talked hats and hat boxes, Barack and Jay-Z, post-feminism, and schooled us in the rules of being a true gentleman.
Ne-Yo: Am I Buzzworthy? Really?
Buzzworthy: You totally are, Ne-Yo. Nice shoes by the way! Are those customized Filas or something?
Ne-Yo: Thanks. No, they're Dolce & Gabbana. I don't get customized anything!
BW: What? That's ridiculous. Anyway, you've got a new album coming up soon. Why did you name it Year of the Gentleman?
Ne-Yo: I named it Year of the Gentleman after what started as an assessment of the business became an assessment of men in America in general. Just looking at how the essence of what it is to be a gentleman is very much lacking nowadays. Someone said to me the other day chivalry is dead, and I hated to have to agree, but it's true.
BW: What do you attribute to that?
Ne-Yo: As men, we just kinda got to the point where we didn't care no more. I don't wanna blame women or anything like that, but maybe the feminist movement had something to do with it, where women wanted to be viewed as equals to men. So men were like, 'You wanna be viewed as equal to me, then open your own damn door.' But I still don't view it as an excuse to be an a**hole. The essence of being a gentleman is to understand the way you're supposed to treat a respectable woman. So this album is me trying to lead by example. I always refer back to the days of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, the Rat Pack. Back when everyone wore a suit because that's what it was to be an entertainer. You were stylish and you were fly, and it was an effortless fly. It wasn't 'Hey everybody, look at how big my chain is.' It was 'I'm charming in my swagger so you're gonna look at me anyway, so I don't gotta try so hard to get your attention.' You don't really see that effortless cool a lot these days.
BW: Who are some of the biggest gentlemen in the business?

Tyga dropped three things today:
1.) His full-length debut album, Coconut Juice,
2.) … by TRL, and,
3.) a couple choices pieces of knowledge on ye ole' Buzzworthy blog when we caught up with him backstage before his Spankin' New Music Week appearance.
And in keeping with the themes of lists and threes, check out our three questions with Tyga:
Buzzworthy: You've guested on lots of artists' tracks. Who do you want to work with in the future?
Tyga: I'm looking forward to working with Pharrell. I just picked up the N.E.R.D. album, and I just met him for the first time the other day in Arizona at the "Glow in the Dark" show. And I'm looking to get on the Chris Brown tour in the fall.
BW: You've got ink for days. Do you have a favorite tat?
Tyga: They're all meaningful. I got the "Lord's Prayer" and the Gates of the Heaven. I just got doves on my shoulder. I want to start on my back. They all mean a lot, but… I gotta look… my favorite one is the Gym Class Heroes logo. It's animated and fun. That's one of my favorites.
BW: Speaking of Gym Class Heroes, there's been a lot of talk about the relationship between you and Travis. Some people say you're cousins, some people say you're not. Wanna clear those up? Where does the Nguyen/McCoy family tree look intertwine?
Tyga: "Travis? That's family, man. That's all you need to know. Don't gotta explain no more. That's family."
Fair enough. Check out Spankin' New Music Week photos -- of "the family" and more -- right here.

If Colby O'Donis was nervous during his Spankin' New Music Week live performance on TRL today, he certainly didn't show it. But that doesn't mean the newcomer isn't appreciative of his newfound fame, which, after working half his life to make it to the point where he had dancers grinding behind him on national TV, came at the hands of Akon, who signed him to his Konvict Muzic label. But despite all that, Colby's humbler than apple pie. And Akon's feeling that.
"I learned patience from him," Colby said of Akon, "When I first started with him, I thought the day I signed the contract, I'd be famous and on MTV, and that was two and a half years ago. So I've learned patience."
"He helped me learn about the appreciation that I have in life. Period," said Akon," who, by the way, was casually eating a slice of watermelon, lounging next to Colby on a couch backstage at TRL just before their performance. "I see how much he appreciates everything. No matter how big he gets, he's always going to be one of those humble types who always appreciates the opportunities. Some people get to a certain level and they don't think of it as a break or a blessing that millions of other people are trying to get. He understands that and I like that about him.
Awww. Too sweet, right? Okay. Enough sugar. Check out Colby's performance -- with Akon, of course, right here:
