It seems like it was only yesterday when we saw Jason Derulo rocking out (with his shirt off) at MTV's "NYE In NYC," so how's is possible that he's currently in bed nursing a fractured neck?! Yes, the neck -- THE PART OF THE BODY THAT HOLDS UP THE HEAD. Yikes!
Yesterday, along with a totally sadz pic of him lying horizontally in a neck brace, Jason shared: "I fractured my neck doing tumbling & acrobatics 4 tour! Always tryin 2 push boundaries 4 YOU! Like my new chain? ;)" Mad props to you, Jason, for keeping things light during a time of trauma, but we're pretty sure that when your fans requested "dedication" they didn't mean "injuring a crucial muscle." (We fully respect the commitment, though.)
On the bright side, we can still see most of your handsome face even while trapped in that ginormous plastic monstrosity, and we're pretty sure all of your female fans will wanna drop by your crib to "make it feel all better." Get well soon, Jason! At least now you have a great excuse to lie in bed all day and watch The Food Network Sports Center.

So while I was at an overheated and overcrowded New Year's Eve party in the depths of Brooklyn (with no New Year's kiss, FYI), MTV was throwing "NYE In NYC 2012," a huge-ass party cohosted by "Teen Wolf's" Tyler Posey and Demi Lovato, featuring live performances by Demi, Selena Gomez, Jason Derulo, Mac Miller and J. Cole. And even though I missed it IRL, I can relive the night with these performance videos. Yay, internet!
Our girl Dem (who, by the way, looked COMPLETELY STUNNING in her NYE ensemble) took the stage to perform her brand-new single, "Give Your Heart A Break." Backed by a full band, not only did Demi deliver a completely heartfelt performance, but girlfriend was singing VERY LIVE and she sounded VERY incredible.
Jason Derulo hit the stage to perform his ode to the perfect lady, "It Girl," followed by his club banger "Don't Wanna Go Home." (The most important part? HIS SHIRT WAS OFF.) MTV Push alum Mac Miller was jumping tirelessly during the entire performance of "Party On Fifth Avenue," and unsurprisingly, J. Cole was as chill and dope as ever while performing his hit "Workout." Selena Gomez closed out the night and looked fully festive in a crystal-encrusted gown as she sang "Love You Like A Love Song" and her current single, "Hit The Lights."
So yes, in case anyone was still confused about it, MTV's New Year's Eve celebration was, in fact, significantly better than yours.
+ Watch Demi Lovato perform "Give Your Heart A Break" during MTV's "NYE In NYC," and check out more performances from Jason Derulo, Mac Miller, Selena Gomez, and J. Cole after the jump.

The Trace is that band you bring home to mom. They're badass on the outside, but probably great boyfriends supersweet on the inside. And please forgive me for not opening with a line about how talented The Trace are as musicians, but I got momentarily distracted by THEIR HANDSOME FACES.
Moving on to the tunes: Made up of four dudes from Bethlehem, PA, I'd like to call The Trace a pop-rock band because their songs are hooky enough to be pop tunes and hard-core enough to be rock songs. But there's something else floating around in the mix -- maybe it's the boys' heartfelt lyrics, or maybe it's their supertight harmonies, but The Trace possesses a unique quality that sets them apart from other pop rockers.
It's totally possible that this "quality" is actually the fact that these dudes have shared the stage with like, 10 trillion famous rockers. The Trace have performed alongside Hot Chelle Rae, Boys Like Girls, Yellowcard, The Ready Set, New Found Glory, All Time Low, Iyaz Jason Derulo and Honor Society, to name a few.
But it's not all rock for the boys. Ballads like "All In All" show the boys' softer, dare I say in-touch-with-their-feminine side: "I won't go/Until we're safe and sound/With your taste inside my mouth/Just saying, until this moment leaves/There's no place I'd rather be/Will you stay with me?" Again, this was the kind of band you could bring home to Mom! And Dad probably won't punch them out, either.
The Trace's new album The Trace EP is out now.

It's been a minute -- OK, a month -- since Jason Derulo's last video, but if "Breathing" left you gasping for air, you may have to load up on oxygen before turning on his latest. "Fight For You" is the fourth single from the singer's Future History, and it's definitely the steamiest clip yet.
The pop star may sing "There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do" on the new song's hook, but Derulo's definitely a lover, not a fighter: He and a lucky lady get intimate on a counter, on the subway and -- cover your eyes! -- in a shower as big as my living room. If you were hoping for boxing robots, you've come to the wrong Future.
But "Fight For You" isn't all hookups: The couple share some sweet dance moves on the subway platform, and Derulo puts some clothes on long enough to get his Drake on on a rooftop, stepping out solo in a red cardigan. (Sweater swag.) Another bonus: The track borrows part of the chorus from Toto's "Africa," our favorite international '80s jam. (Derulo didn't have to fight them for it -- the rockers get a writing credit on the song.)
Why the video was filmed in what looks like New York and not Africa, we're not sure. They probably had to save the budget for the naked shower scenes. Priorities!

Today we shared our favorite fall albums in Buzzworthy's Fall Music 2011 Preview. The lineup of 29 new albums includes heavy hitters -- Drake's Take Care album, Britney's B In The Mix: The Remixes 2 remix album and Rihanna's untitled sixth studio album, due out this November -- solo efforts from Patrick Stump and Joe Jonas, and small-but-strong up-and-comers like I Fight Dragons and Allstar Weekend.
And now we wanna hear from you! Which new fall album are you most excited about?
Lovatics already sent Demi Lovato's Unbroken to No. 1. Rihanna's personal military will surely rally the troops for her upcoming sixth studio album. Meanwhile Britney Stans are breathing heavy in anticipation of Britney's B In The Mix: The Remixes 2 album. And artists like YelaWolf and J. Cole are releasing their debut albums but already attracted legions of die-hard fans.
Gym Class Heroes fans have been waiting three years for a new album after 2008's The Quilt, and Evanescence fans have been waiting HALF A DECADE for the band's third studio album. Blink-182 fans might've thought they'd never see the day that Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge would reunite for their Neighborhoods album, eight years after releasing Blink-182.
So which fall album will you have on repeat all season long? Vote in our fall 2011 album poll. We'll announce the album with the most votes on Tuesday, Oct. 4!
