The French electro duo Justice just released THE GNARLIEST video to one of their GNARLIEST songs to date. The Edouard Salier-directed video for "Civilization" just premiered, and not only does the video itself recall some serious Heavy Metal-esque animation (with a crumbling world falling on buffaloes -- trust me, just watch), but the music also pays homage to some serious stadium rock.
"Civilization," which you've probably heard in that Adidas commercial, starts out with a bang. The Dio-devil-horns-sign-in-the-air opening verse veers into some massively heavy synth action. Make no mistake: This looks to be a huge comeback song for Justice after their 2007 smash "D.A.N.C.E." went global. But the song is so good it could be a comeback for anybody: Give the vocals to Ozzy Osbourne or Rob Halford, and this would make an easy huge comeback for them. Anybody over at Ed Banger Records (their label) listening? Put Rob Halford on vocals, release that as a single, massive hit. Boom. Done.
Justice is set to release a follow-up album to their frankly brilliant 2007 † debut later this year (yes, the name of the album is a cross). No word on when, but if it's anything like this you can be assured a) it'll be a massive hit and that b) I'll be the first in line to buy it.

Legendary NYC house producer/DJ Armand Van Helden and legendary hip-hop/electro DJ A-Trak are some pretty heavy hitters on their own. But together, they form...Duck Sauce? That's right, named after one of the seven wonders of the world of condiments and dedicated to making ecstatic dance music that celebrates the two DJ/producers' roots, Duck Sauce has been an underground sensation for a little while now. But with this new video for their single "Barbra Streisand," the secret is gonna be out.
"Barbra Streisand" was directed by So Me, who was behind Justice's critically lauded "D.A.N.C.E." clip. Duck Sauce's video is basically a love letter to New York City: its energy, its people and, most of all, its music.
Keep your eyes peeled for cameos from the likes of Kanye West, Chromeo, DJ Premier (of Gang Starr), ?uestlove of The Roots, Ezra Koenig from Vampire Weekend and many, many more.

It might sound weird to say that 23-year-old Uffie was ahead of her time, but in a way, that's exactly what she was. The Miami-born, globe-trotting singer (she was raised in Hong Kong and resides now in Paris) made an underground splash in 2006 with her single, "Pop The Glock." It was a pretty fresh combination of French scuzz-dance (think Justice), old school hip-hop and bratty pop. And it pretty much predicted the likes of Ke$ha (who M.I.A. once accused of ripping off Uffie).
But after "Pop The Glock" popped, Uffie went through a divorce, had a kid, and took some time off. Now she's back with a new album -- Sex Dreams And Denim Jeans -- and new single and video for "ADD SUV."
"ADD SUV" is a dark, chilling song, filled with images of "Ritalin-filled debutantes." It's a far more subtle and mature track than her previous work, distancing herself from the artists who may, or may not have copied her style.
The video, directed Nathalie Canguilhem, is equally enigmatic; mixing footage of various characters driving cool, classic cars around a nondescript city. One of these characters is Pharrell Williams, who drops a verse about seeing "everything in neon."
Check out the video below. Uffie's long-awaited Sex Dreams And Denim Jeans album is out now.

Dudes, I'll totally be the first to admit that I really thought Gustav Schäfer wasn't going to rise occasion of the dance-based dare! BUT HE TOTALLY DID! So what gives, Bill Kaulitz? Next time I see a new episode of Tokio Hotel TV, it'd better feature some serious rump shaking on your part! Oh well. At least there's a sick contest. (Wahh! Am I disqualified from entering? Because I SO want a Wii!)
Watch the new episode, and Bill, if you're watching this, please watch two videos that should inspire you to move dat ass -- Mötley Crüe's "Girls Girls Girls," and House of Pain's "Jump Around." (Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" was just way too obvious.) Runner up... Justice!

Los Angeles bros Sky Blu and Redfoo, aka LMFAO, are on a mission to wash away the seriousness of the world with Party Rock. What is Party Rock? It's music, clothing, and a way of thinking. It's a vibe. And these two are so wrapped up in their mission, that you'd think they were one superhuman. No, seriously, like we couldn't tell which one was talking when. So when you picture this interview in your mind, picture two bodies, a head and one gigantic afro. Deal?
Buzzworthy: How did you get to be best friends?
LMFAO: You know how you play that game? With the guy and the face? You make the mustache on his face? That's how we came together. The magnets attract. I'll tell you what really brought us together. Simply the music. And we both like sports. But we'd freestyle! We'd battle each other! We'd tape it and play it for people and see who got the most applause. But when we really became besties was the first trip to Miami. Every day, same motel. Same bed sometimes.
BUZZWORTHY: Are you famous yet?
LMFAO: Um, I'd have to say... HELL yeah we're famous! There's levels of fame. We're not at the Paris Hilton level. Or the Barack Obama level. Or the Jesus level (although that's the level we're shooting for). You know, one time we went into a place and one person recognized us. We said wow, I can't wait until two people recognize us. Now every day we could have at least one person recognize us. You know. From somewhere. Whether it be someone down the street or a sister or my mom.
Buzzworthy: What has been the most surprising part of getting there?
LMFAO: In art school, what if I turned in a blank canvas? Would that win the art competition? Maybe the surprise is that there are no surprises.
Buzzworthy: When you remix a song, is it because it's not good enough?
LMFAO: Ooh, that sounds like a trap! Next question? Yes. We don't think it's good enough. FOR the club. I'm not gonna remix "Billie Jean." I'm not gonna remix "PYT." There's no reason to. You're already dancing. We take songs that weren't necessarily dance-able -- not one booty clap -- you know, you're not gonna get a booty clap at 60 beats per minute.
Buzzworthy: Pitbull and Jermaine Dupri, among others, have remixed "I'm In Miami Trick." What's that like?
LMFAO: We love it. We take it as a compliment. It's very interesting, coming as a new artist, when you hear an already established artist that is very famous and very popular, imitating your style and your flow and your rhyme scheme. It's like, wow, you know? That is very flattering. But we're careful about how the songs come out. We let people jump on it AFTER the song's been branded to us. One time Paris Hilton told us she went to Atlanta and Jermaine Dupri was spinning. The song came on and Jermaine was like, "Yo baby girl this is my song, this is my song!" And she was like, "No it's not. Those are my boys LMFAO. What are you talking about?" Made us feel like we did it right. But yeah. We love it. It makes your song more popular.
Buzzworthy: Who would be your ultimate choice to remix one of your songs?
LMFAO: Justice.
You know, I have to go somewhere else. The bloody ones... The Bloody Beetroots. Maybe they could do something together... Bloody Justice?
Buzzworthy: Is "I'm In Miami Trick" based on actual events?
LMFAO: Actually, we're like fortune cookies. Because we said this is what we want to happen and then it did. It's a self-fulfilling prophesy. We never played naked Twister before the song. After the song, we have naked Twister every week, five o'clock on Sunday.
Buzzworthy: What are your Spring Break plans?
LMFAO: A whole week in Cancun with MTV! I plan on being naked. We're scheduled for one day, but we wanna spend a whole week because we have a lot to offer to Cancun. We have the boom boom.
Buzzworthy: How did your clothing line come to be? Is it more or less important to you than music?
LMFAO: That's like asking is your foot more important than your hand. Party Rock is a vibe. Music, clothing, a way of thinking... It's all one in the big scheme of things. Why is it all one? Because generally speaking, you're clothed when you're making music. So if you're wearing a suit and you're making party music, you're faking it. You have to wear the clothes of the type of music you're making. If i was making gospel, you might see me in a nice flowing robe and some sandals, with a Jesus piece and a glass of wine. I would eat a wafer with some hot sauce. I always brought salsa to church just for that. He'd offer the wafer and I'd say, "Not yet. Put it in my Picante."
Buzzworthy: How would you describe your style (fashion-wise)?
LMFAO: Party rock. Stuff that you'd rock at a party. Simple.
Buzzworthy: What do you feel very serious about?
LMFAO: To tell the truth, I feel very serious about not being serious. Because, if you're too serious, you're delirious, like ga-ga-GAH-GaHH-ERRRGGGGHHHH! I'm very serious about my party. You know? Where are the chips? Where are the f---ing chips? We're throwing a party here. Where's the punch? What the F--- is wrong with you?
I say this to the serious people in the world: Go to a club, meet a fine beautiful lady, take her out the next day, get your Cool Water cologne, your Old Spice, go take her to the best restaurant in town, make sure it's very quiet, you have a candle lit, order the veal. Then fart at the table. Then walk away. You will get laid.

So if you were up sorta late-ish last night, and hopefully you were, and saw Justice perform live on Jimmy Kimmel Live, you caught one of the most amazingly OMG-inducing events on TV since Janet's nip slip. After the always-funny Sarah Silverman (who's Jimmy's long-time girlfriend) and the always-horrifying pumpkin-headed Wayne Newton, the men behind Justice --Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé -- kicked off their live performance of "D.A.N.C.E." by standing offstage and tweaking the knobs on an old-school 1980s double-decker boombox.
The cameras panned over to the stage where -- hand to God -- a freaking dream team of the following celebrity impersonators performed a lipsynched, "unplugged" version of the song: Talking Book-era Stevie Wonder on drums; a resurrected Rick James (in overly revealing tight pants) on bass; the artist currently known as Prince on electric guitar (natch), Rod Stewart -- inexplicably -- on keys; and an avec-nose Michael Jackson, circa the Dangerous album, spin-kicking his way through the lead vocals.
Who cares that all of the "musicians" were off by half a phrase, at least? It doesn't matter that fake Prince looked more like real Rick James. Nevermind that it felt like a human version of those Animatronic shows you see at Showbiz Pizza. The whole concept was so simple and completely low-tech, but it was one of the most delightfully cheeky performances we've seen in ages and just additional proof that these guys are groundbreaking in just about everything they do. It's also probably the closest we'll get to seeing a not-scary Michael Jackson, to whom the song is basically a tribute, perform "live."
If you haven't seen it yet, (or even if you have, watch it again!) you can watch the live Justice performance here. Or you can just wait for it to bombard your inbox and instant messages later (we got one just seconds ago as we were writing this very post) later today.
And check out the T-shirt spree in their VMA-nominated video, "D.A.N.C.E."

Put on a smartass T-shirt and get ready to "D.A.N.C.E." your butt off because Justice's totally rad, retro clip is nominated for Video Of The Year at the VMAs! Now, you no doubt remember that, despite they're carefree, lighthearted attitude, this Parisian dance duo was unwittingly involved in a big brouhaha during last year's MTV Europe Music Awards. Oh, you know exactly what we're talking about -- when Kanye West stormed the stage when they were awarded Best Video for "We Are Your Friends" and claimed he was robbed of his Moonman! Well, this year everyone's getting a shot at a do-over, and the Justice guys better prepare themselves in case they walk away with the coveted award two years in a row, as they're facing off with Kanye again! Yup, The College Dropout's "Stronger" is nominated alongside "D.A.N.C.E." If they win, will Kanye bum-rush the stage again? If he wins, will the Parisian pop stars dare to jump up and get some payback? We're sure everything's cool by now but, still, it's gonna be a nail-biter!
OK. We’re still all about yesterday’s press conference where we announced the 2007 VMA nominees live on TRL. If you missed it, here are the highlights: Justin and Beyonce pretty much crushed the competition in terms of volume at least – they’re both up for seven Moonmen each! Timbaland, who’s the show’s Music Director (nice choice, huh?) and will also be performing a set (and if you caught him DJing at Justin Timberlake’s concerts, you know that’s beyond hot) pronounced himself the official “Maestro” and promised nothin’ but a par-tay up in his suite at the Palms in Vegas the night of the show (Sunday, September 9), and did his best politico impression when he neither confirmed nor denied the rumor that Britney Spears is gonna perform at the awards.
Oh, then surprise guest Kanye West pretty much took over the rest of the affair and issued a beat down to all of his foes, from Justice, the French band with the sleeper hit that just might possibly beat him out for Video Of The Year, to 50 Cent, who had the GAUL to set his album to drop the same day as Kanye’s.
