If the name Jason Derulo doesn't sound like any hitmaker you know, then you're not one of the 15 million MySpace listeners the 20-year-old R&B chart-crusher claims. And you must not own a radio.

Jason Derulo's "Whatcha Say" track, produced by J.R Rotem, samples (and by "samples," I mean, "uses the entire refrain of") Imogen Heap's "Hide And Seek," but Jason pulled from his own brother's adulterous confessions when he penned the song. While it's unclear how Jason Derulo's brother feels about this kind of publicity, his little brother's a star -- "Whatcha Say" hit the number 1 spot on the iTunes Top 200 Songs at the end of September.

Thanks in part to some label signage by Kara DioGuardi (they rode to the VMAs together) we can expect a debut album from Jason soon enough. Get a hint of Jason Derulo's musical background on his MySpace with "Strobe Light," which you can expect to hear in the MTV movie Turn The Beat Around come 2010.

Watch Jason Derulo with Beluga Heights signee IYAZ on the VMA red carpet, and watch the source of his "Whatcha Say" inspiration -- Imogen Heap's "Hide And Seek" video. And watch for more Jason Derulo coming soon!

I took Buzzworthy on the road the other night -- and by "on the road," I mean 11 blocks south -- to the G-Star Raw Spring 2010 show at New York Fashion Week, where I caught up with Gabe Saporta on the red carpet (which he walked with Kara DioGuardi!)

We chatted about the VMAs, and invariably, about Taylor Swift and Kanye's big interruption. Here's what Gabe had to say about Kanye Gate -- "Kanye's crazy! It means he likes you!" and being Team Taylor. (And about looking TOTALLY Don Draper at the VMAs.)

I'll say it: 24-year-old Colbie Caillat has her proverbial sh+t together. But she didn't just stumble into tranquility -- Colbie called her sophomore album Breakthrough for a reason. And it ended up being fortuitous; it just debuted at No. 1. Still, Colbie had some hurdles to make it over before she could get to "soaking up life" in Hawaii and barbecuing with Kara DioGuardi and Jason Reeves.

In addition to enrolling in songwriting boot camp, the "Bubbly" singer endured a miserable sinus infection and (well, this is a good problem to have) a tough choice between three different productions for her lead single, "Fallin' For You." Colbie also conquered her most challenging obstacle -- her own insecurity as a performer. As she so beautifully puts it, "I am finally in love with what I do."

After the jump, watch Colbie Caillat's "The 5" interview, and be sure to watch Colbie's beach-y (of course) new video, "Fallin' For You," which features Bobby Moynihan of Saturday Night Live as her love... interest.

+ Slightly weird megastar Celine Dion is pregnant again at the age of 41. Talk about taking chances! (Bitten & Bound)

+ Our girl Britney Spears is starting back up on her Circus tour (woohoo!) and is making a special appearance on the Late Show With David Letterman.  No doubt she will dazzle and amaze legions of fans worldwide as she <deep breath> reads the Top 10 list. Strong Britney! (US Magazine)

+ Kelly Clarkson and Joe Jonas plan to be celebrity judges on an upcoming episode of American Idol. Should be pretty cool for Kelly to be sitting next to fellow judge and songwriter extraordinaire Kara DioGuardi (who's penned several of her hits including the most recent"I Do Not Hook Up"). (PopCrunch)

+ Who's ready for a new Radiohead single? We are, too.  You're welcome. (The Tripwire)

+ Bet there are two things that you don't know about pop star Selena Gomez (and reigning Queen of Disney). (Blogamole)

+ As a little girl, Buzzcrush Katy Perry prayed to the Lord for big boobies, and boy did He answer her prayers. In fact, Katy talks an awful lot about her boobies most days, but we're not mad at it. Or her. Or them. (Socialite Life)

When you first saw that Jessie James was opening for the Jonas Brothers, were you also like "WHY must I endure a motorcycle demo by the stony, tattooed Mr. Sandra Bullock while waiting to see the Jonas Brothers?" Was anyone else surprised to discover that this Jessie James is a five-foot, X-tina-gone-country knock-out. (And, yes, this 21-year-old singer is a JessIE, unlike the Celebrity Apprentice contestant or the Wild West bank robber.)

But how did this self-proclaimed Army brat from Georgia score an opening gig on the Jonas Brother's summer tour? Here are five good reasons Jessie James should be on -- and stay on -- your radar.

1. The Girl Actually Writes Her Own Music And Actually Hustles
Jessie gets respect not just for co-writing tracks on her debut album (which comes out July 28), which includes the Carrie-Underwood-would-cut-a-b+tch-for-this number "Wanted," co-written by Kara DioGuardi (the OTHER Idol judge!). But Jessie's also been hard at work on a radio station tour... albeit a kinda D-list one, but that's how you make it, girl...

Jessie is an immediately competent singer (even in a T-shirt and Uggs), and as a career woman she's hungry; look for another single, "Bullet," co-written by one Katy Perry, on Jessie's horizon ... Wait, did Kelly Clarkson just call?

2. She's Hybrid Country
I need a chaser with my country music, and Jessie's sultry, Aguilera-esque belt goes beyond Reba and into dance and hip-hop territory, a hybrid Jessie lovingly dubs "hick-hop" (not kidding). Listen to "Blue Jeans" -- it was in Confessions of a Shopaholic, if it sounds familiar -- for some surprising funk... and fun zipper sound effects.

3. She's Got an Edge, And a Healthy Ego
She may not tune up motorcycles like Mr. Bullock, but Jessie has an intense Megan Fox moment in her "Wanted" music video. Someone turn the hose on her! Jessie also posed for a bomb spread in Maxim and admits she cleans her house "nekkid." Always on time for Sunday church, though!

Jessie will also be the first to tell you how talented she is -- and that "when she blows up," she'll be getting those "Blue Jeans" for free! Hey, it takes a certain confidence to pitch your songs to L.A. Reid as a teenager,  so again, don't hate her for hustling, because that's how you end hanging out backstage with Nick, Kevin, and Joe.

FACTS (that you probably already know):

+ Cobra Starship, Kevin Rudolf and American Idol's Kara DioGuard wrote "Good Girls Go Bad" together, and then Leighton Meester (BLAIR!) jumped in on the vocals!

+ Gabe Saporta's a HUGE Gossip Girl fan.

+ AND Leighton Meester's on Gossip Girl!

+ Together, Gabe and Leelee (she told me to call her that) would have very beautiful children... But they don't have time for that right now, because their "Good Girls Go Bad" video, in which Leighton plays a hot but meanie New York City club owner -- meanwhile, Cobra owns the deli upstairs; don't you love it? -- is almost ready.

+ The "Good Girls Go Bad" video isn't out yet (it's a fact!), but Buzzworthy's got an exclusive "Good Girls Go Bad" sneaky peeky video preview, including behind-the-scenes stuuuufff, interviews, hanging meat, dice, and more. Watch it below. IT'S A TRUE FACT!

+ Plus: Check out photos of Leighton Meester at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. And, watch an exclusive Buzzworthy COBRA CAM video!

+Something tells us that if Fergie isn't willing to slow to down to give Josh Duhamel a babezorz, there are a MILLYUN guhls who would KILL for that job. Tick tock, Fergs. You better step it up! (Hollywood Rag)

+ Check out this new song by Cobra Starship featuring Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester AND co-written by American Idol's Kara DioGuardi. We're not mad at it -- it's kind of cute, and to be honest, we sanction just about anything that's comes out of the mouth of Cobra lead singer Gabe Saporta. <LICKITY LICK> (RyanSeacrest.com)

+ Yesterday, we told you about the mini version of Beth Ditto. Now, a new single off The Gossip's forthcoming album Music For Men has just dropped, called "Heavy Cross." B Ditts, we heart ye. (Tripwire)

+ Never mind that Britney released "Blackout" two years ago, and that the song "Radar" was featured not only on that album but also on her most recent album "Circus" -- the song will now be her next single. Wonder if she's going to make a video for it? (Dean Kelly)

+ Uh oh. Amy Winehouse is scheduled to perform in St. Lucia today. Do you think our favorite thirsty turtle will make it all the way through without fainting? (People)

+ Nudie photos are all the rage these days.  First there were Cassie's nibbly bits on parade. Now, is that really Rihanna? Her bum looks all sorts of hot, but that don't mean you should go snappin' pics of it! (The Blemish)

HOOORAY! I had lunch with the lovely and talented Diana DeGarmo today! We even sat next to each other, and now we're besties and she told me to call her "DD." Okay, the last two parts of that sentence aren't true, but she has the demeanor of a smart and mature BFF (it's hard to believe she's just 21-years-old), and she was absolutely lovely.

Diana was in town to discuss one of her new projects, GetScouted.com -- a talent recruitment site that connects up-and-coming artists, singers, dancers, performers, and designers with talent scouts -- and the musical revue she's in in L.A. right now, Back To Bacharach And David (as in BURT BACHARACH, who's one of my personal idols) -- and how she gets to wear one off Mel B's costumes from Peep Show! Eee!

Since you probably want to know which former American Idol-ers Diana still K.I.T.s with, I made sure to ask! She said she's closest with Kimberley Locke, and she talks to Michael Johns and Matt Rogers a lot and that he just texted her this morning! Cuh-YOOT! She also told a really sweet story about meeting the girl who would become Matt Rogers' wife and telling him immediately that he was going to marry her, which is how she ended up singing in their wedding.

And Diana, who said she's "keeping up" with this season's American Idol, said she's a huge Kara DioGuardifan, and that she supports the new judges-save rule. She also addressed the rumors that Simon Cowell may leave American Idol: "They'll definitely need to find that vinegar" she said, referring to Simon's flair for the vitriolic. Hee. Well put!

Finally, like any celebrity interview these days, the meet-up turned into a Tweet-up. Yes, friends, Diana DeGarmo is on Twitter, AND she Tweeted about our lunch while we eating (as did I). She also told me she Tweeted Perez Hilton, but he hasn't Tweeted her back yet. (Get on that, Perez!)

So, everyone follow @DianaDeGarmo, mkay?

+ When Katy Perry goes dateless for a year, it's called celibacy. For the rest of us, it's just called sad. Either way, KP has vowed to spend the next 365 or so days with her cat. (Usmagazine.com)

+ Meanwhile, Lily Allen spent three weeks in the "nuthouse" in early 2008 ... and she liked it! (Daily Telegraph - UK)

+ And speaking of Lily, we gotta give her props for her story-telling skills. Word to the wise: Next time there's a lull in the conversation, just toss in a fun facilitator like "I did once snog these identical twins in San Diego." Works every time! (Scandalist)

+ Miley Cyrus has issued a corporate America-ish PSA claiming she has nothing but love for Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, the Jonases and, presumably, everyone else on Team Disney. (MTV News)

+ What do 50 Cent and JLo have in common? It's all about the badonkadonk, baby. (Remote Control)

+ American Idol recap! Simon Cowell pretends to hate the new judge, Kara DioGuardi while Randy Jackson pretends to referee. (E! Online)

+ Jay-Z's been working on his latest album, Blueprint 3, forevs! Which is weird, since he sez he could've made "a great piece of art" in under three weeks. (MTV News)

+ Casting call! Who better to play a vampire in New Moon than the disconcertingly mature-for-her-age child star, Dakota Fanning? (MTV Movies)

American Idol runner-up David Archuleta (and also, um, these tweens' favorite-ist person on planet Earf) has has been a busy little beaver of late. Here's what Archu McSweety Cute Jeans has been up to since the ball dropped.

He performed an a cappella version of "I'll Be" at the Hard Rock Cafe in NYC the other day. (J-14 was on the scene, BTW!) Fun! (Hard Rock Cafe is still open!?)

He's also been eating grapes (!?) and blogging his sweet widdle facey off on MySpace: He says he's trying not to ramble too much... but he's still pretty rambly, which, of course is why everyone Archu-loves him! Also, exclamation points: proceed with caution, Archie! (But, of course, all is Archu-forgiven.)

Archuleta's also been watching the new season of American Idol, obvs, and he thinks judge Kara DioGuardi "is a tough one... and more picky than Paula." He also said he'd lurvs to come back on the show and serve as a mentor for the latest group of songbirds. I wonder what he thinks of Katrina Darrell/ AKA Bikini Girl? (Borf!) Or  Seacrest high-fiving a blind guy?

He's heading down to "the Big Easy" for Mardi Gras, which makes me wonder what I wouldn't do for David Archuleta beads... nothing is coming to mind.

Anyway, Archie confessed to Seventeen mag, that he's a gentleman, likes to take things slow and hasn't been kissed: "I think so many people want to rush things, they want to rush hanging out, they want to rush making out, and then it's like they don't even know the person they're with."

Wait, didn't Paula sing a song about this: "Rush, Rush?"
