We know most pop stars are like, NOT born famous or anything, but it's really hard for us to wrap our heads around the fact that there used to exist a time when Lady Gaga wasn't among the most well known celebrities on Earth. Did she actually go by the name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta for the first 22 years of her life? I kinda don't buy it!
But now we have some extra proof! Filmed in 2008, footage has surfaced of an pre-fame Gaga as she paid a visit to celeb tattoo artist Kat Von D. As she meets the 22-year-old unknown, Kat asks Gaga what she does for a living to which Stefani replies,"I'm a singer and also a songwriter for other artists." Kat then asks The Lady if she's working on anything interesting (LOLLLL!!!) to which Gaga answers, "I worked with New Kids On The Block last night, it was rad!" (Side note: WHO CAN WE PAY TO LEAK THOSE DEMOS?) Kat Von D goes on to question Gaga about her NYC upbringing (she goes home for "fam" time and meatballs), how her family reacted when she got her first tattoo, and how she got a fake I.D. when she was seventeen.
These kinds of "before they were famous" videos really shake us, guys. We suppose now's a good time to mention our crusade to redefine the world's classifying time periods as follows: BLG (Before Lady Gaga) and ALG (After Lady Gaga).

+ You don't typically turn to 17-year-olds for career advice. But when your career path is "burgeoning pop star," and the guest judge is a 17-year-old who has already released hit albums, headlined tours and starred in movies and television shows, you might want to listen. That's exactly what 11 contestants from "American Idol" found themselves doing on last night's broadcast when Miley Cyrus played the part of mentor to the aspiring chart-toppers. (MTV News)
+ The throngs of girls chasing Robert Pattinson all over the place have already compromised his privacy, and now they're starting to compromise his hearing. The "Twilight" star says, "I'm almost completely deaf." (I'm Not Obsessed)
+ Other stars in the "Twilight" galaxy seem to be having an easier time with it. Dakota Fanning, a member of both the Volturi and The Runaways (how's that for dual membership?) let her hair down on "Lopez Tonight" and let Kat Von D give her a "Cherry Bomb" tattoo. (Idolator)
+ Probably the most obscenely adorable bowling trio of all time (with all due respect to my uncle Leon and his two friends Dale and Ed): "Glee"'s Corey Monteith, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez all threw some rocks at a Studio City bowling alley yesterday. (Just Jared)
+ If you're not one of the thousands of people who spend most of their time thinking, listening to and tweeting about Justin Bieber, here is a nice CliffsNotes to Ke$ha's lil' baby, and his rise to power/fame/world domination. (Pop Eater)
+ After working with Jonas Åkerlund on her epic "Telephone" clip and Francis Lawrence on the ground-breaking "Bad Romance," Lady Gaga will now pair with legendary photographer Steven Klein for her upcoming video for "Alejandro." (Vulture)

Ok, wtf is Ulalume? Well, it's a poem written by macabre and goth-y 19th century poet Edgar Allan Poe (you were awake in English class, right?). It's also the name of MTV's inaugural Ulalume: Howling At New Moon music festival. Wait, it all makes sense and is less esoteric than you think, or sort of.
The music festival takes place at Columbia, Maryland's Merriweather Post Pavilion tomorrow (October 23) and while Poe was born in Boston, the poet is buried in Maryland (not too far from Poe's grave (spooky!). Plus, the Ulalume fest is Halloween-themed (New Moon! Vampires, werewolves, unrequited crushes!) and premieres on MTV, Friday October 30 at 9:00 p.m. ET. And Twilight fans take note! Cast members from New Moon will be part of this one-hour on-air special, and they will be unveiling an exclusive look at a never-before-seen clip from the highly anticipated release of the second Twilight installment.
Ok, you're not a history buff. How about a fan of groups like Paramore and AFI? Yes, Ulalume has a kick-ass line up that not only includes those headliners, but also features Dead By Sunrise the new band by Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, Kid Cudi and more (umm, rad, right? Buy your tickets here if you haven't already). Come out and celebrate all things spooky in honor of Halloween at the festival if you can make it and if not, tune into MTV next Friday.
BUT, if you don't want to wait long (and you shouldn't), we'll be rolling out bonus performances, interviews, photos and more all next week starting Monday October 26. Check into Buzzworthy and MTV.com for more. Wanna know more? Check out the official Ulalume site on MTVU and or go to Halloween.MTV.com where all our festival highlights will appear. Oh, and let's not forget the hot hostess of the show that's a bit on the jet-black gothy side as well, celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D. Check out our Ulalume video playlist below and a sexy photo of our hostess with the mmm..mostess.

+ Popjustice thinks Solange's new album is going to trump Beyonce's last album. (Really?? Better than B'Day? For REAL for real?)
+ You know that film about t.A.t.u.'s going to suck when even the star of the movie can't sit through it. (Idolator)
+ Miley Cyrus has a new not-for-kids video game. Unofficial and unsanctioned, of course. (TheImproper)
+ T.I. says he was "hands-on" during the birth of his sixth child. Which, presumably, explains why said child is named Major G. (MTV)
+ Don't Stop the Pop is unabashedly celebrating the most unabashedly Swedish music ever.
+ MusicWarship tackles the "Is Duffy the new Amy Winehouse" question.
+ Death Cab For Cutie takes over blogging duties at Stereogum. Next step for DCFC: Finally admitting that we are destined to be together. (Stereogum)
+ We actually really like Kat Von D's new makeup line.
+ According to Diddy, Sean Jean's style can be summed up in two words: "Fashion Viagra." According to us, Diddy's analogy can be summed up in one word: "Ew." (HollywoodRag)
+ Celebitchy thinks Justin Timberlake is about to pop the question.
+ Fergie's bringing sexy skintight vinyl leggings back. (Popsugar)
+ The Jonas Brothers can't decide which American Idol finalist to vote for. (MTV)
+ Still-hot Anthony Kiedis makes us long for the days when Red Hot Chili Peppers still played music... which isn't happening any time soon because the band's on hiatus. Boo. (Antimusic)
+ Relevant video: crappy album, awesome song:
