Leighton Meester's looking lithe and lovely on the March 2011 cover of L'Officiel Lithuania! Am I right, or am I right over here? "Spalvota!" says the cover, presumably about Leighton, and while we don't speak Lithuanian (not yet, anyway), it seems clear that that's a flattering adjective (or interjection?) about her look. We "Officielly" enjoy it.
Let's break down what's happening here from a fashion and beauty standpoint, shall we? Leighton Meester looks mature and a bit demure in her cover shot, with her hair pulled back into a sleek chignon, a long skirt and some stately jewelry. We love the multiple bangles on each of her wrists. It's like "I'm wearing Lanvin, I'm safe, yet I'm INTERESTING!" Blair Waldorf would so cosign this sartorial situation, don't you think?
Tell us Buzzworthy, peeps. What do we think of Leighton Meester's Lithuanian look?

Leighton Meester, we can't figure you out. And we like it. First you're a Gossip Girl. Then you're singing on that Cobra Starship song. Then you're back to being a Gossip Girl. Then you're singing and acting in "Country Strong." And now you're rapping in a song called "Front Cut?" You're like the female James Franco. You have so many jobs!
Leighton Meester has been talking about releasing music for a while now, yet we can't seem to get her to lock down a date (so Blair Waldorf of her). But "Front Cut" is supposed to be released as a single off one of her two (yes, two!) upcoming albums. We hope she's getting her beauty rest. That's a lot of work.
We're not the only ones making this reference but Leighton Meester in "Front Cut" kind of sounds like Ke$ha, only a tad bubblier and maybe a little more showered. And the song's not so much about hitting on dudes as it is about cutting in line in front of the dudes (unless we're just naive and it means something TOOOOOTally different). "Front Cut" starts out loud with Leighton sassing, "I'm too fly to be all up in this line, boy/I should get a front cut, I should get a front cut." Um, show of hands if you just found your new 2011 motto?

Oh hey. Here's Kanye West hanging out with pretty women Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly at Nylon magazine's February issue party. It's such a departure for Kanye since he's usually carting around a cavalcade of hideous ogres or studying German philosophers. Just kidding, Yeezy. (You're the last person's s*** list we want to be on!
Something you might not know about me is that I actually attend these kind of star-studded fancy magazine launches never all the time, so I have a pretty good idea what goes on at these parties. They may look glamorous from the outside, but inside they're all stuffy and as boring as sitting in your doctor's waiting room. The Kanye/Leighton/Minka conversation probably went something like this:
+ Kanye West: "Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly, isn't it soooo cool being attractive, successful and wealthy?"
+ Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly (simultaneously): "Yeah, totally, Kanye West. It's the best."
+ Kanye West: "You know what else is the best? My necklace. THIS IS THE BEST NECKLACE OF ALL TIME... BRB, tweeting that."
+ Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly (simultaneously): "LOL, Kanye, you're funny. Here are our phone numbers."
Honestly guys, these parties get old fast. Catered food from top-notch restaurants? Free kiddie cocktails all night long? Rubbing elbows with Kanye West? No thanks, I'll pass. I have a riveting game of Words With Friends waiting for me at home.

Leighton Meester is looking fiercely foxy on the February 2011 cover of Seventeen, is she NOT?
I mean, HOW does she look so amazing next to what is essentially a slab of concrete? Excuse us while we storm the Hearst offices in search of that set to Vogue for our new Facebook default. Leighton's styled to the nines in her Seventeen photo spread. That tweed crop top/shorts/jacket combo would thrill Coco Chanel to pieces. We have half a mind to add multiple skinny red ankle straps to all of our shoes.

Let's talk about the cover. Leighton's slightly naughty sexy peep-holed floral dress is right on the "Little House on the Prairie" city border. We predict sexy sternum exposure will be so hot in 2011. You heard it here first! From a beauty standpoint, Leighton's Christmas-themed red lip and green eye shadow combo is unexpectedly fetching. And her hair, per usual, is nothing short of glossy fabulosity, no doubt a by-product of her Herbal Essences partnership and a styling session with her personal hair maven Charles Baker Strahan. Not that we know every single product or person involved with achieving that mane of dreams, or anything. OK, fine.

Hey, ya'll! Welcome back to your weekly internet road map. Buckle up, 'cause we've got 10 stops to make before Christmas.
1.) Leighton Meester is the latest actress to get her twang on for the upcoming drama "Country Song," following in the still-fresh bootprints of Gwyneth Paltrow. We have no choice but to pit them against each other and choose a winner. I vote Leigh all the way. Click the links below to see performances by each and then weigh in with your pick in the comments. (Idolator, Just Jared)
2.) Not sick of year-end lists yet? Me neither. Here's a good one: Spinner has crowned Swedish pop pixie Robyn's "Dancing On My Own" the top pop song of 2010. I like this list because they managed to find room for Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair" at a very respectable No. 7. (Spinner)
3.) Despite recent evidence to the contrary, the annual Kardashian Christmas card wasn't always so kreepy! Kim shared a gallery of the family's seasons greetings from years past, featuring some adorably old fashions and um, equally adorable old noses. (Celebuzz)
4.) Oh, Demi, Demi, Demi Lovato. Girl, if you MUST lick your girlfriend's face while your cleavage is all busting out, don't take a picture. It will end up on the Internet. I know you probably didn't go to college yet, but c'mon, that's Being A Celebrity 101. Also though, we still adore you. (TheFABlife)
5.) On to more lighthearted things, this is what I want for Christmas--a beatboxing hamster. (No acorns were harmed during the filming of this LOLZ. Maybe a berry, though.) (YouTube)
6.) Before she was all underpants-sexytime on the November issue of GQ, "Glee" star Lea Michele used to be just a normal high school student, you guys! Except that she was still a really, really, like exceptionally good singer, and I probably would've hated her for it. (The Seven)
7.) Hey, I think I figured out what happened to the "Pants on the Ground" guy from "American Idol" Season 9: He invented these garter belts for guys--you know, the accessory that helps you keep your jeans at the precise height between your waist and knees. (NewsLite)
8.) Did you know that the 1990 family holiday movie "Home Alone" proves that Elvis is still alive? Well, still alive in 1990. Anyway, GAME CHANGER! Buzzfeed has 11 other mind-blowing factoids you didn't know about the film. (Buzzfeed)
9.) Last week at Madison Square Garden, a fan who was trying to be all sexy on Usher--after he'd pulled her on stage for a romantic serenade--did the most unsexy thing ever: She kicked him in the face. Lap dance EPIC FAIL. (RyanSeacrest.com)
10.) Presented without comment: The Lonely Island, featuring Akon (and Blake Lively and Jessica Alba), "I Just Had Sex" (Hulu)

+ Katy Perry is apparently "over" her celebrity crush on Justin Bieber, telling OK magazine that, "I think it's probably safe to say I'm married to my celebrity crush." Sounds like Russell Brand might have been getting jealous! (Just Jared Jr.)
+ Daft Punk looked positively robotic at last night's "TRON: Legacy" premiere. (Idolator)
+ Leighton Meester is giving "Gossip Girl" another two years, stating, "I think there's that old saying about going out on top." (Celebuzz)
+ Last night, Mariah Carey performed some of her cherished Christmas classics, with her mother, no less, on her televised "Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas To You" special. (MTV News)
+ Nicki Minaj made a typically feisty appearance on Chelsea Handler's "Chelsea Lately" show. (That Grape Juice)
+ Glee, Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele, Jane Lynch AND Chris Colfer were all nominated for Golden Globes! (USA Today)

I know they say the suit makes the man, but I think Leighton Meester might be the exception that proves the rule in this case. For one thing, she's a woman, man. And for another, Meester, seen above, stunting in a gray Thom Browne number, definitely makes the suit.
The "Gossip Girl" star and recording artist was appearing last night at the 20th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards. She presented the Fest Genius Award with "The Hurt Locker" star Anthony Mackie.
Kind of interesting how rocking a suit is clearly giving Meester a bit of a swagger boost. Check out that facial expression! However, the best part about the whole look? It's gotta be the shoes...

Nice Ferragamo's, girl. You can find out all about the nominees and winners of the Gotham Independent Film Awards' site.

After a couple of dragging and drab weeks at the end of the summer, this week has been one that reminds you that you're alive and it's all happening, right? Most important, this weekend will wrap up with the 2010 MTV VMAs in Los Angeles. And while our left coast friends are getting ready for that, we East Coast tenderfoots are celebrating Fashion Week.
Above we see a fresh-faced and rather beautiful looking Leighton Meester appearing at the reopening of New York City's Chanel Store. The event was hosted by none other than Karl Lagerfeld and was attended by pretty much every stylish person you can think of: Claire Danes, Diana Kruger, Robin Thicke and his wife, Paula Patton, Courtney Love and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Meester looked pretty chipper, as you would if you had spent most of your summer in Paris filming "Gossip Girl." Wonder if she and Robin Thicke had a chat about their steamy duet on her "Somebody To Love" single.
Fashion Week culminates tonight with the annual Fashion's Night Out, a delirious evening of parties and clothes and beautiful people. Stay tuned for pics next week.

There's some twang in our GOOP! Gwyneth Paltrow has gone country on us. To her impressive list of achievements -- which include Oscar-winning actress, yoga enthusiast, website proprietor (the aforementioned GOOP), advice giver, cooking video maker and Coldplay spouse -- we can now add country music vocalist.
Behold "Country Strong," Paltrow's first foray into the world of broken hearts and empty bottles. It's the title song taken from the soundtrack to Paltrow's upcoming, Nashville-based flick, which will costar Tim McGraw and Leighton Meester.
In the film, Paltrow plays a fading country star who attempts to revive her career after a stint in rehab. With that in mind, the track has a sort of redemptive quality to it. And Paltrow, with a weathered and worn voice, sounds surprisingly at home in the country music milieu.
Check out a snippet of the song below. "Country Strong," the film, hits theaters December 22. The film's soundtrack is due out October 26.
