+ Instead of just owning up to the fact that her goose is cooked (not in Tamar's opinion, mind you) Mariah Carey did a little Twitter damage control following her performance at the Michael Jackson memorial service yesterday at L.A.'s Staples Center, saying she was just too overcome with emotion to give a perfect performance. However, longtime collaborator Trey Lorenz was pitch-perfect and sounded pretty much exactly the same as he did on Mariah's original MTV Unplugged version of "I'll Be There". (MTV News)

+ Season-ticket holder to Crazytown Lil Mama likened Michael Jackson's passing to the death of THE Jesus Christ. (Rap-Up)

+ Long-forgotten rapper Mase has been inspired by who else to make a comeback? None other than Michael Jackson/Jesus Christ. UGH. Jesus Christ! (Perez Hilton)

+ Sam Lutfi, Britney Spears' former best buddie/pal/stalker/drug crusher-upper/phonewire cutter is like the STD bronchitis you just can't kick. He's now filed papers in court saying that BritBrit has made him fear for his life. He's even naming some character witnesses, including Brit's former paparazzi squeeze Adnan Ghalib. Vat a mess... (TMZ)

+ In other douchebag news, Chris "Plea Bargain" Brown was not only seen kickin' it to Kanye's ex, Amber Rose at Diddy's annual White Party, but he also wore a beautiful, custom-crafted $300,000 diamond pendant that said "OOPS." Has this kid's parole started yet?? (Cele|bitchy)

+ Green Day is cashing in on their piece of music game "Rock Band," having just added three songs to the game's catalog. (MTV News)

+ And all this time I thought Raven Simone was just big-boned! SHE WAS PREGNANT?! At least for nine months of the last seven years. (Global Grind)

Last night at the MTV Movie Awards, Miley Cyrus hit the red carpet in a dusty rose/ cream-colored Moschino Cheap & Chic cocktail dress with an open back and ruffle detail and a folded envelope neck. Shoes: Christian Louboutin -- her first time in Louboutins on the red carpet!

Now, while the Movie Awards are known as being a totally anything-goes event (right, Lil Mama?), Miley opted for a totally sophisticated style. The only hint of fun, "So what, I'm still a rock star"/ Whitesnake Miley was a few chain bracelets, her super smokey eyes, and her cool turquoise polish.

Watch Miley on the red carpet with Christian Siriano -- who called her one of his best-dressed of the night! -- and share your opinion on Miley's MTV Movie Awards glam style: super chic, or too tame?

Yes, that's Lil Mama, and no, sadly, this photo wasn't taken at Heidi Klum's annual Halloween party. Lil Mama actually arrived at the 2007 VMAs dressed like she'd just crawled out of the womb. And as if purple satin and puffy babydoll sleeves weren't criminal enough, Lil Mams had the gall to top it off with a matching bonnet and bejeweled passy. Classy! We get it, we get it. You're the voice of the young people. And the voice of the sippy cup set too, apparently. Except we can't really understand what the hell you're saying because you've got a DAMNED PACIFIER IN YOUR MOUTH, which makes us wonder if you were wearing a diaper under there too.

Thankfully Lil Mama's grown up and glossed up a bit in the past year on America's Best Dance Crew and hopefully will restrict he whole voice-of-the-young-people thing to metaphor.

But, that leaves room for someone else to take home an unofficial Moonman for worst-dressed celeb at this year's VMAs. Who do you think will show up to the 2008 VMAs in an outfit that, well, totally sucks?

If week one of FNMTV was all about Pete Wentz and videos, then week two was all about Pete Wentz, videos AND LIL WAYNE, who nearly blew out all the electricity in the greater Los Angeles area with his explosive, awe-inspiring rendition of "A Milli," which he performed nearly minutes after it was announced that his new album sold a million copies its first week out. Nice timing, baby!

We'd have Wayne back for if we could, but he's gotta get back to the studio to exercise some more of that lyrical genius. So, on tomorrow night's installment of FNMTV -- tune in Friday, June 27, at 8 p.m. ET/PT -- you'll see live performances by Rihanna and Maroon 5, plus guest appearances and video premieres, including:

T.I. - "No Matter What"
No Age - "Eraser"
Day26 - "Since You've Been Gone"

+ After the jump — highlights from last week’s show.

Last week, Buzzworthy reporter Tricia Romano went backstage at FNMTV and pulled back the curtain to show you the nuts, bolts and Fall Out Boys of MTV's new video show. This week, she went back to scope out even more FN secrets.

Check out more behind-the-scenes coverage and photos of this week's episode of FNMTV, including interviews with Pete Wentz and musical guest Duffy. Plus, see what really goes on in hair and makeup, and peek into Lil Wayne's sound check!

Week two of FNMTV is in full effect, and if last week -- with Panic at the Disco’s headlining performance -- was all about the rock, this week belongs to hip-hop. Lil Wayne, Lil Mama, and Shawty Lo top the second installment of MTV's return to form — a video show (!!!!) — while '60s chanteuse Duffy, indie upstarts Vampire Weekend and power-pop favorites Boys Like Girls round out the lineup.

This week the atmosphere on set is decidedly more relaxed. Up in the skybox, It-girl Katy Perry trades banter with MTV lads James Montgomery and Tim Kash, while down on the ground, the rehearsal goes smoothly.

Instead of playing the videos all the way through, the clips are simply blocked out, which means that, sadly, we missed a sneak preview of most of the videos because theywentbyreallyreallyreallyfast. (We’re also sad that there's no Snoop Dogg segment, because Snoop ups the awesome ante on everything.)

But, the relaxed atmosphere gave Pete and the staff a little breathing room and some much-needed time to stand around and joke (or ride bikes, in Pete's case). We used the downtime to catch up with Pete and see how he felt about his FNMTV debut.

“It went pretty good," Pete said."Better than expected. I didn’t screw up super bad,” he said, sheepishly.

Interviewing artists has presented Pete with some situations we've been in ourselves. Like the part where he had to ask someone he knows in "real life" some gossipy questions; in this case it was the Pussycat Dolls, whom he asked about that Britney Spears cameo that disappeared from their new video.

"I know the Pussycat Dolls, so it was hard to go there on the Britney Spears question. I didn’t really want to,” he says. Awkward!

(More with Pete Wentz at FNMTV after the jump.)

We weren't lying. On last week's inaugural episode of FNMTV, we brought in Pete Wentz, and we brought back music videos -- real, actual, full-length ones and even some classics too from before you were born. Plus: lots of really enthusiastic audience members, special effects that stopped just short of pyrotechnics and Cirque du Soleil illusionists, and real actual DISCUSSION about videos. People. Talking about videos. After the videos aired. On television. on MUSIC television.

But in case you're not the type to dwell in the past, tomorrow night's show -- tune in Friday, June 20 at 8pm ET/PT -- features performances by Duffy and Lil Wayne, plus guest appearances and video premieres from...

Vampire Weekend - "Oxford Comma"
Boys Like Girls - "Thunder"
Lil Mama featuring T-Pain - "What It Is (Strike A Pose)"
Shawty Lo - "Foolish" (remix)

+ After the jump -- highlights from last week's show.

Can we talk about the word "change" for a minute? Good. With all the politicians throwing it around like a pigskin on Thanksgiving, it might be a good for all of us to see a visual representation of what, exactly, that word means. Por example: the latest video from Lil Mama, a.k.a. The Voice of the Young People.

When you think Lil Mama, what's the first thing that comes to mind? Crazy bright clothes, poppin' lipgloss, maybe a grown-up baby outfit, and dancing? So much dancing. Usually she's all about all things youthful and carefree. A human jelly bracelet, if you will.

But now (brought on by the untimely death of her mother and her tumultuous upbringing), all that's changed in her new video, "L.I.F.E." Now it's all strife, teen pregnancy, crackheads and Heroes-style black eyeballs. Not exactly the soundtrack to a Sketchers commercial, but she's on point with the serious Mary J. Blige-sounding message. To be sure: Lil Mama's an all-growed-up mature woman. But hopefully her next video won't bring the dourness to Evanescence/ Flyleaf levels of bleakness.

Wait. First Chris Brown plays Jordin Sparks' possibly missing boo (they never really explain -- hate that!) in her new "No Air" video... And is it just us, or did she completely go from girl to woman between her "Tattoo" video and this one? Girl. Is. All. Growed. Up!

Anyway, at the same time Chris Brown's basically suffocating Jordin Sparks with his steady and unwavering hotness, he's pulling double duty (two-timing, some might say!) in Lil Mama's "Shawty Get Loose" video, in which Lil Mama does a meaner Lil' Kim than Kim.

Back in the day, before Rev Run was hanging at Hooters with Kid Rock, Run DMC was hollaring at their Adidas shelltoes. Nelly gave his Air Force Ones their own video. Lil Mama bigged it up to her shiny smile. And now Kid Sister (the rapper, not the female version of My Buddy -- don't get it twisted) is the next artist in a long historical succession to exalt her accessories, shouting out her tight tips, in her new video, 'Pro Nails.'
