Nostalgia Lite, Frank Ocean's official Def Jam debut, had a rumored release date of July 26. So I patiently waited until about 11:59 p.m. on that fateful Tuesday, and yet, I got bubkes. Now that the date has come and gone, our only source of comfort during these trying times are the few teasers Ocean's been dropping. Oh, and also our excitement to hear Frank's two cuts on Jay-Z and Kanye West's forthcoming collaboration album, Watch The Throne.
Posted to Frank's Tumblr yesterday, "Thinking About You" is the latest from camp Ocean (that's gotta be an actual camp, right?) and retains Frank's classic laid-back and relaxed R&B vibe. It's a melancholy record discussing the torturous pain that comes with thinking about someone all the time, even if they may not reciprocate the sentiment. (But yo Frank, hit me up. I'll def reciprocate). Ocean, who usually sticks to his lower register, has chosen "Thinking About You" to unveil his surprisingly gorgeous falsetto, or what I like to call the "baby-making notes." Reminiscent of Robin Thicke with a dash of Justin Timberlake and Maxwell thrown in, Frank sings, "Or do you not think so far ahead?/Cause I been thinkin' bout forever."
Gotta hand it to the dude -- seemingly out of nowhere, Frank becomes besties with Jay-Z and Kanye and his single "Novacane" is sitting at No. 17 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Chart. How does he even have time to think about anyone?

While it's hard to match Los Angeles' Staples Center, home of the Lakers, for star power in the seats, Madison Square Garden, home of the New York Knicks, runs a close second. And with an improved team on display this year, the wattage of said stars has been getting brighter and brighter.
Take last Friday night's game, when the Knicks took on LeBron James and the Miami Heat. And the stars came out in force to see the action. Above, we see Drake and a rather undercover looking Maxwell, taking in the action.
Note the dudes next to Drake and Maxwell, subtly on their smartphones, no doubt texting their friends, "LOL at Nix gm w/Drizzy." Cool, calm, collected.
Then we have Joe Jonas:

That's the face of a dude who is about to tweet, for all the world to see: "LOL OMG @drakkarnoir at Nix Game!!!!!! #shaking #crying." Be cool, Joe! You have sold more records than that cat! No need to freak out.

That's more like it, my man. Celebrities, they freak out when they see rappers in public, just like us.

We usually associate Ne-Yo with sleek dance-y R&B tracks like "Closer" that are equally elegant and dance-y. But for the second single off of his upcoming album, Libra Scale, Ne-Yo shuffles the deck, presenting a sensual grind of a track, "Crazy Love."
With its deep bass, drum groove and lazy pace, "Crazy Love" is somewhat reminiscent of early Maxwell, with Ne-Yo singing about a love that resembles a "hurricane." Rapper Fabolous adds some humor to the proceedings, referencing the late Gary Coleman's "What you talkin' 'bout" face, but generally, things are kept rather grown and sexy.
It'll be interesting to see how "Crazy Love" fits into the Libra Scale's narrative. Ne-Yo has talked about the album following three characters as they deal with issues of love, money and morality. Deep!
Libra Scale is out in October.

Chances are if you're a music fan, you know that former Fugees Wyclef Jean and Pras are both of Haitian descent. After the earthquake Wyclef has been leading the relief efforts, raising money for his charity Yele and trying to gain support for relocating 2 million Port au Prince residents. But what other celebrities have Haitian heritage? Plenty. Take a look at the following list.
If you think we just came up with this list to help raise money for earthquake relief efforts, you're definitely on to us. You can send $10 right now to help the American Red Cross effort in Haiti by texting "Haiti" to 90999 (a charge will be added to your phone bill). For those who want to give more, please donate to Hope for Haiti Now. And don't forget to watch tonight's telethon: Hope for Haiti Now.
10. Maxwell -- While the neo-soul crooner was raised in Brooklyn, his mother was from Haiti. He recently attended an emergency meeting organized by former President Bill Clinton to develop ways of helping the impoverished people of Haiti.
9. Arcade Fire's Regine Chassagne -- The singer for indie-rock group Arcade Fire recently wrote a piece for The Observer about her ancestral ties to the island and how she is desperately trying to find out about friends and family. "Everybody I talk to says the same thing: time has stopped. Simultaneously, time is at work. Sneakily passing through the cracks, taking the lives of survivors away, one by one."
8. Jason Derulo -- The man who went platinum with the hit "Whatcha Say" was born in Miami to parents who are Haitian immigrants. He recently told MTV News: "I'm really proud how the celebrities have kind of come together, especially Wyclef. I mean, he's always been very, very instrumental in charities for Haiti, but he has really, really stepped up."

Today Oprah Winfrey will be dedicating her show entirely to the issue of Haitian recovery and relief. Guests like Wyclef Jean and Maxwell are scheduled to appear to both perform and talk about the terrible tragedy that has taken place due to the earthquake and several aftershocks.
Also performing will be Rihanna. The Barbados native will perform Bob Marley's classic "Redemption Song." The song is already available in iTunes. All proceeds from the song's sales will benefit Haitian relief efforts.
The show airs today. Head to Oprah.com to learn more. And we obviously encourage you to head over to iTunes and download the track.
Head here to learn more about what you can do to help with earthquake-relief efforts in Haiti, and for more information, see Think MTV. Join George Clooney and Wyclef Jean for MTV's "Hope for Haiti" telethon, airing commercial-free Friday, January 22, at 8 p.m. ET.

When Joe Jonas did Beyonce's "Single Ladies" dance -- which blew up Twitter and brought down the Jonas Brothers' YouTube for a few hours last week -- he learned something I (and millions of other females) have known for years -- that heels hurt. (Doing the "Single Ladies" dance in Beyonce's bejeweled Stuart Weitzman shoes from her "Ego" video would've been even harder.)
See what else Joe Jonas revealed about his foray into Beyonce territory (and a leotard) in this MTV News interview with the Jonas Brothers.
