about this blog

  1. Obsessively blogging about pop music, pop videos, pop stars, and pop culture from inside the MTV headquarters in Times Square. We also have a slight Jonas Brothers problem. And a little fixation with Tokio Hotel.

The 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards are just around the corner. If you haven't booked your ticket to Berlin, well, you're probably screwed. But fortunately Buzzworthy's gonna give you a first-hand look at all of the international stars, performers and performances, and fan-picked awards on Thursday, November 5.

Here's what you need to know about the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin.

+ Katy Perry's hosting! Fun and fashion are expected... if not DEMANDED!

+ Rock royalty Foo Fighters and Green Day, hip-hop kingpin Jay-Z, the lycanthropic Shakira, and the gorgeous Leona Lewis will all perform too.

+ ... And Hometown heroes TOKIO HOTEL will perform! LIVE. Digest that.

+ U2 will hold a special musical performance in front of Berlin's Brandenburg Gate.

+ Pete Wentz will be hosting the online show with exclusive backstage access.

+ And THE JONAS BROTHERS AND BACKSTREET BOYS are presenting! It's like boy bands' greatest hits go to Germany!

+ More presenters include the darling Miranda Cosgrove, and the empirically bananas-hot Bar Refaeli, Joss Stone, and more.

It's like the VMAs but with a more impressive passport.

Stay tuned to the MTV Buzzworthy Blog for more 2009 EMA info, AND to stream the entire show as it happens, live in Berlin.

Last night the 2009 Los Premios MTV went off with a bang in Bogota, and I'm pretty sure you'll be happy to know that some of your favorites won in some cool categories, including...

Lady Gaga: "Best International New Artist”  and “Song of The Year”

Jonas Brothers: "Best International Pop Artist”

Twilight: "Best Film"

Britney Spears: Best Fan Club (Venezuela)

Winsin Y Yandel: "Artist Of The Year" and "Video Of The Year" for "Abusadora"

Aventura: "Best Artist MTV TR3s"

Check out photos of some of the performers -- Ashley Tisdale, Cobra Starship, Fall Out Boy -- and presenters -- Selena Gomez, Miranda Cosgrove, Morrissey (!), Audrina Patridge (who spoke presented with Wilmer Valderrama and spoke Spanish!), and co-hosts Nelly Furtado and Calle 13's Residente. And get the complete list of 2009 Los Premios MTV, check out photos, and watch videos. The bar has been RAISED and the stakes are now even higher as the list of 2009 MTV VMA performers grows bigger with today's mega announcement that hip-hop mogul Jay-Z and Pop Art princess Lady Gaga will perform!

Jay-Z and Lady Gaga join the already-majah roster of 2009 MTV VMA performers: Taylor Swift, Green Day, Pink, and Muse.

Jay-Z appearances aren't ubiquitous happenings -- He's not exactly a hermit, but he's not the kind of guy to show up to the opening of a door and pimp himself out to anyone who'll listen. Why? BECAUSE HE'S JAY-Z. HE DOESN'T HAVE TO. To say that Jay-Z's 2009 VMA performance is going to be the stuff of pop culture legend is like saying Madonna's arms are only somewhat bananas.

Now speaking of bananas, Lady Gaga, who's up for a MIND-REELING nine VMAs, will be busy that night, to say the least. Gaga also said that she's "simply gutted to be both a performer and nominee at the 2009 VMAs. In fact, I'm so happy, I could die." Hopefully Lady Gaga was speaking figuratively because she's got a BIG show to put on that night. And after she shot fire out of her breasts at the Much Music Awards in Canada this past June, we expect very big things of her VMA performance! She'd better crawl out of the mouth of a live camel or something. (JK, PETA.)

Also, AWKWARD alert -- she's up against Beyonce (MRS. Jay-Z!) for nine VMAs. Wonder if this will be awkwardsville backstage that night.

ALSO, just added to the growing list of 2009 VMA presenters are Nelly Furtado, Leighton Meester and iCarly's Miranda Cosgrove, who is so teensy and adorable.

+ See the full list of 2009 VMA nominees, and stay tuned for more VMA news!

Don't miss the 2009 VMAs live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday, September 13 at 9pm!

Saturday night was Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards 2009, also known as THE NIGHT JOE JONAS REVEALED HIS NEW HAIRCUT! But other things happened too! And instead of just TALKING about them, let's LOOK AT THE PHOTOS, shall we?

Miley Cyrus won Favorite Female Singer, and she cried. And cried. And cried. She cried so much she became Cryly Cyrus. Cyley Crylus even! I don't remember if she thanked Jesus, but she was super verklempt and definitely thanked her fans. And cried some more. She managed to do it in a classy way. Like, her face wasn't all full of bawly snot or anything. Congrats, Miley!

Archidorable McArchipants David Archuleta, fresh off the U.S. leg of his tour, accepted the Favorite Reality Show award on behalf of American Idol along with Paula Abdul, who OF COURSE interrupted him AND scared the crap out of me in what looked like costume castaways from a performance of "Disturbia." (Seriously, what WAS that?)

I was traumatized.

Jesse McCartney won Favorite Male Singer, and while the "How Do You Sleep" remix with Ludacris is totally hot, Jesse also won Buzzworthy's unofficial Worst Glasses Award for those Transitions lenses. Sad panda, dude.

Demi Lovato was an absolute golden GODDESS. She was dressed up without looking OVERLY made-up. And her amazing gold metallic dress is an Ina Soltani, if you're taking notes, and her heels are YSL.

I included this photo of Josh Peck because I have a total crush on him. I'm pretty sure he was sending secret eye signals to me through the TV and telling me he wants to run away with me. I'm positive.

And, finally, here it is, your moment of Zen -- Best Music Group winners the Jonas Brothers and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in a loin cloth or something, all wet and slimy and mens-like -- which is going to push me into therapy... or an early grave...

+ Get the complete list of Kids' Choice Awards 2009 winners, and check out KCA red carpet photos and behind-the-scenes photos of the Jonas Brothers, David Archuleta, Miranda Cosgrove and more KCA stars both slimed and unscathed!

It's hard to say who the luckiest person is in these photos -- David "McSweetypants" Archuleta, or iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove.

And for the record, noooooo, we SO don't hate her. We LOVE her and we were being facetious in this post because we were just misdirecting our jealousy that she gets to share her show with David Archuleta this Saturday, February 7th at 8p.m., because, AS YOU PROLLY KNOW, Archie's gonna kick off "Crush Night," and he'll perform "A Little Too Not Over You” (that's ALTNOY to you Angels) AND "Crush" AND star on the "iRocked The Vote" episode of iCarly! (Durz! You knew that!) ULTIMATE CRUSH!

Anyway, check out these Archi-dorbs photos and a new video of Miranda and David. Then GO SET YOUR DVR so you can watch it a zillion and four times.

Welcome to Buzzworthy's brand-new series in which we dissect celebrity blogs into delishy little bloggy bites, starting with our fave American Idol second placer (but winner in our heart), and prolific blogger, David Archuleta! His words are in bold, ours are in italics. Follow along, won't you?

Hi all. David here with another blog.
HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

So this week I got to go to the Adele concert!! Adele is amazing amazing amazing amazing, and she sounds so good live!
Totally and completely agree, Archie! We = Adele obsessed.

James Morrison opened up for her, and he sings with so much soul. It's so weird to see him perform because white people usually don't sing like that haha.
Uhm... wow. Ohh kayy. You had us, and then you totally lost us, but you're so cute, so it's okay.

But anyway, I loved how Adele didn't move around a whole lot when she performed.
Hmm...Again, a widdle bit confused. People are supposed to stand totally still? Like as if they were all wrapped up in a Snuggie?

She was all about the voice, and didn't try to change that. What's also cool is that it was at the Murray Theater in Murray, my home town! A few of my friends came with me too, so good times haha. This Saturday was another extremely exciting day, because I got to go to Senior Ball at my high school!!
OH. EM. GEE (we're back now).

I didn't think I'd ever get another chance to go to a school dance, but I asked management and they gave the ok and made time in the schedule for me to go. I had soooo much fun!
Ok, if there is anyone out there in the entire universe who is NOT thinking "I want to go to a dance with David!" raise your hands [no hands]. That's what we thought.

For our day activity, we had breakfast and then played games. We fit in a lot of them too. We played dodge ball, basketball, musical chairs, apples to apples, and crab soccer. I got a good work out from the crab soccer too haha.
Crab soccer? Anyone? (I failed out of gym if you coudln't tell.)

We rocked out at the dance too, and even though I sweat so bad it was worth it.
Ok, not to be gross, but don't front like you aren't wondering what Archie's sweat smells like.

The girl I got to go with was awesome too.
Luckiest. Girl. In. The. World.

After the dance we all watched Mall Cop, but I kept falling asleep lol. I was so tired.
Awww... Sweet, sweepy Archie...

And I had to wake up early in the morning anyway for a flight. So yesterday, we flew back down to LA, and I did some things for Nickelodeon with Miranda Cosgrove. It was something that involved more lines to say, haha. So I was really nervous before we started, but once we got going I had so much fun! It felt like Miranda and I just hung out all day long, and she's such a nice girl.
I now hate Miranda Cosgrove.

But yeah, the lines were for Crush Night that's coming up on February 7th! The day of my acting debut.. when the episode of iCarly I'm on airs.
DVR set.

It really is so much fun working with all of them on that show. I wasn't sure if I'd get to work with them anytime soon, so when I heard I was going to be working with Miranda Sunday, I was pumped! haha.
Still hate Miranda Cosgrove.

But yeah, I'll stop talking about that and save it for the week it comes on. But keep that on your calendars! It's a big day haha. Well for me anyway.
Arch, I think it's pretty safe to say that if it's a special day for you, it's a special day for us.

But yeah I wrote an awfully lot in this blog. But it was a big weekend! Adele, the school dance, and Miranda all in 3 days. But I will post some pictures for you guys. Bye bye.
BYEEEEEE!

Song of the week: Adele "Best for Last." Her album is my favorite right now!
THAT'S OUR FAVE TOO! We're still A LOT too not over you! Until next time, Archie, Archi-voir!

Tween dream Miranda Cosgrove is kinda the luckiest girl ever -- not only does she have excellent taste (she loves Paramore, and has a better wardrobe than I do), but she's also the star of her own TV show, iCarly, she gets to hang out with both Drake AND Josh, and she got to squeeze into a photo booth with Diego Gonzalez for her new video, "About You Now."

If she weren't such a living doll, I'd almost hate her, because seriously, she looks like a miniature Catherine Zeta Jones but not scary. But I'll reign in that quick-to-boil jealousy ('tisn't the season for haters, after all), and give you a behind-the-scenes glimpse into "About You Now," which premieres tonight right after Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh, on Nick at 8pm ET.

+ Watch the clip below, and check out Drake and Josh's take on "Jingle Bells," requisite awful holiday sweaters and all.

As much as we love our Drake & Josh reruns (Seriously, guys, stop hogging our DVR!) we can't wait to see TV stepbros Drake Bell and Josh Peck bringing the fam back together with their upcoming Christmas spectacular!

Take a sneak peek and watch the Nickelodeon stars (and hotties-in-training) break out the Xmas tunes ("Jingle Bells," baby!) ugly Cosby sweaters (sorry, Grammy!) and, er, naked holiday cheer in preparation for their new movie, Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh.

Then tune into Nick on Friday, December 5 at 8/7c to find out what prompts Miranda Cosgrove (a.k.a annoying l'il sis Megan Parker) to offer the boys this sage piece of sisterly advice: "Either put on some clothes or join a gym."

What do you get when you pair Bob Dylan's son with the star of Nickelodeon's hit show, iCarly? That would be "Stay My Baby," the newest video by School of Rock alum Miranda Cosgrove! See what director Jesse Dylan had to say about working with Cosgrove, plus get a sneak peek at her floppy-haired love interest, Nolan Funk (a.k.a. "the baby that she's singing about.") Then check back on Monday to catch the premiere and see if any of the behind-the-scenes zaniness made it into the final cut.

+ Bow Wow has a feeling his between-the-sheets Entourage cameo will resonate with female fans. "The ladies are gonna go crazy when they see Bow Wow's first sex scene," the rapper/actor predicts, admitting, "I stun myself sometimes, I can't even front." (MTV)

+ Selena Gomez admits she has a thing for car-crashing Transformers star Shia LaBeouf. (Usmagazine.com)

+ Meanwhile, Demi Lovato and her soon-to-be-ex-boyfriend say they're not doing the long-distance thing. (Entertainment Wise)

+ Idol runner-up David Archuleta has released his first single, "Crush." Check it out and decide whether the feeling's mutual. (Z100)

+ And while you're at it, have a look at iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove's first video. (People)

+ Hilary Duff finds the healthy balance between scary-skinny and "Duff Puff." (OK!)

+ Panic At The Disco might be self-directing their next music video. "We want to make it ourselves," says bassist Jon Walker. "I've been Googling 'music video direction.' I think they have one of those 'Dummies' books on it." (MTV)
