It's been nearly six years since Nelly Furtado dropped Loose, and we're still pumping "Say It Right" on the regular. But it looks like rapper K'naan's bringing one of our favorite songbirds back for a second collaboration (remember "Going Away"?) on his new song, "Is Anybody Out There."

Inspiring keyboards and a motivating drumbeat are the perfect backdrop for K'naan's flow on "Is Anybody Out There," which consoles those lonely types out there in search of a friend during a struggle: "I can see her crying out, yeah/Is there anybody out there?/Right now she could really use a shoulder." Nelly's signature vocals kick in on the chorus, offering all the #foreveralones strong words of encouragement: "If you feel the way I feel/Like you've been talking to yourself/Well, this is for anyone who's felt invisible." Lesson learned: Everyone is miserably lonely! I mean, everyone is there for each other!

"Is There Anybody Out There" is featured on K'naan's latest More Beautiful Than Silence EP, out today on A&M/Octone Records.

Nelly Furtado has been hard at work on her new album, Lifestyle, collaborating with the likes of Pharrell, among others. But that doesn't mean she can't leave the studio once in a while to try out some new material. Recently, the Canadian crooner treated fans at the Delta Tejo Festival in Lisbon, Portugal, to a first listen of a new song, reportedly titled "Mystery." And because it's 2011, there's already a video of it on the internet.

Even though we haven't had an English language release from her since 2008 (Loose), "Mystery" reminds us why Nelly Furtado remains a pop force to be reckoned with -- that voice of hers. Over a soft and slow track, Nelly sings, "I wanna rip it all off, see what I got, see what's inside of the box/You're a mystery, why can't you just be real with me." (She's talking about metaphorical wrapping paper, not clothing, BTW.) And just before she has you crying and about to text your ex, she busts out her hit "Promiscuous" and shows us she can still bring the hip-hop, too.

While we're only able to hear the beginnings of "Mystery," we're digging the direction it's headed. Let's hope Nelly Furtado is planning a few more Lifestyle sneaks soon, and that someone puts those on the internet, too.

Hi everyone! I've got some great picks this week, including what may be the greatest kitteh LOL of all time!

1.) NPR has Bright Eyes' new album, The People's Key, available for a full listen. It sounds like all the best songs on Lifted.... I'll just wait here a sec while you eat your emo heart out. (NPR)

2.) Nelly Furtado (who I always want to call "Nelly Fur-TAY-toe" 'cause I think it'd be funny) and Sir Elton John teamed up for a kind-of-weird, kind-of-catchy update of Elton's song "Crocodile Rock," which is featured on the Gnomeo & Juliet soundtrack. (Idolator)

3.) MTV Posted artist Linkin Park are going to be performing on "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, alongside blast from the past Dana Carvey. I wonder if Chester Bennington will play Wayne. (NBC)

4.) I'm on kind of an indie-rock kick right now, so I highly recommend the new Fleet Foxes album Helplessness Blues, the title track of which you can hear para gratis at Pitchfork.

5.) Lonely? Looking for love? Have a taste for the ginger? The gang over at "Conan" is hosting the "VD Explosion" Contest, where the grand prize is a Valentine's Day date on the set of the show. To enter, post a compelling video response to Cocan's contest announcement.  (Team Coco)

6.) Remember Jason Earles, the actor who played Hannah Montana's brother, aka Jackson Stewart? How old do you think that guy is? Like 21, 22 right? WRONG! Dude is in his 30s. Also, he's a trained "equestrian rider," whatever that means! (IMDb)

7.) First there was Ted Williams, the homeless guy with the golden radio voice. Now there is the Brazilian cab driver with the pitch-perfect Michael Jackson impression. (Urlesque)

8.) In 1994, Bryant Gumbel could not begin to comprehend what the internet is. Seriously, it made his brain almost explode. Katie Couric was no help, either. Equally mind-scrambling, the "@" sign. (CollegeHumor)

9.) Did you know most house plants receive better care than house cats? And also, did you know that you should shout at your cat for about five seconds? Yes, it's true. Find out more facts about cats at Buzzfeed.

10.) When dancing to Whitney Houston's 1985 smash hit "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," it's best to have something prepared, something interpretative. This guy has it taken care of. (The Frisky)

After the pop/rock maneuvers previously found on Timbaland's Shock Value II songs like "If We Ever Meet Again," featuring Katy Perry, and "Morning After Dark," featuring Nelly Furtado, you might have thought the hip-hop super-producer had veered away from making the type of club-rattling, exotic-flute-sampling, dirty-talking R&B that made him a household name.

Well, that's just not true—as heard on the soon-to-be classic Timbaland cut "Carry Out," which reunites the beatmaker with his partner-in-hitmaking, Justin Timberlake.

When you think of the great partnerships in MTV history, you think of Hall and Oats, Lita and Ozzy, Ron-Ron and Sammi (R.I.P.) and, of course, Timbaland and Justin.

Reunited and it feels so good: Timbo and a rapping—yeah, I said rapping— J.T. live it up under flashing neon lights and amidst the love of some very affectionate dancers. The suggestive language in the vid might be a little much for office speakers or church pews, so proceed with NSFW caution. Check out the video below. Shock Value II is available now.

+ Continuing where the Hope For Haiti Now benefit album and telethon left off, BET is picking up the torch and will be airing its own fund raising show tonight. SOS: Saving Ourselves: Help For Haiti will be broadcast, from Miami, this evening at  8pm ET. Performers and participants include Drake, Mary J. Blige, Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo, Wyclef and Trey Songz. The event will be hosted by Pharrell Williams, Diddy and Queen Latifah. (MTV News)

+ In a recently posted video, the leading promoter of whiskey as an oral hygiene product, Ke$ha, appears to be defacing the legendary Hollywood sign to spell out "Ke$hawood." Some folks think it's a viral hoax. Why? Because those "Hollywood" letters are 45 feet tall and Ke$ha is not The Hulk. (Gawker)

+ Robin Thicke and Nicki Minaj played the Late Show With David Letterman last night. Two things are great about this. 1) Letterman's intro, getting all hot under the collar after stumbling through Thicke's album title ("Sex Therapy...The Experience? You don't need to tell me!"). 2) NICKI MINAJ WAS ON LETTERMAN LAST NIGHT. (Rap-Up)

+ Yesterday we ran a Buzz Bite about Taylor Swift's label head defending his artist against some post-GRAMMY backlash that had turned up in, among other places, The New York Times. In doing so, said label head, Scott Borchetta of Big Machine, made a sideways comment about the prefab pop stars of American Idol. You know who did not care for that? Kelly Clarkson did not care for that. And she blogged about it. (Rolling Stone)

+ If you ask anyone, they'll tell you I always say, 'When you can't get Chris Brown, get David Archuleta.' Jordin Sparks feels the same way, obviously. Archuleta sang the Chris Brown part of "No Air" with Sparks at the third annual Jordin Experience in Miami. (Idolator)

+ Here are some pictures of Snoop Dogg hanging out with Darth Vader in Times Square. You're welcome. (Pink Is The New Blog)

Timabland recently told MTV News that his target audience is desperate housewives. Or, rather, women who watch Desperate Housewives (he also says they like Sex And The City, going to bars and being from Europe (what?)). This, he says, is why you find Miley, Katy and Justin on his new Timbaland Presents Shock Value II album, rather than the usual assortment of rappers he has been known to work with.

I guess it stands to reason that, given Timbo's undoubtedly rigorously researched data that these same new fans of his would be Twilight or True Blood aficionados, because that is the only real reason I can think of for the presence of vampires in this new, Paul Cory Allen-directed clip for "Morning After Dark."

Timbaland, French singer SoShy, and Nelly Furtado wander around what looks to be a small, Eastern European town, stopping blood suckers from fronting on assorted would-be victims.

Maybe while they're over in that neck of the woods they should stop by Ukraine and visit a kid named Valentine, who recently posted an incredibly earnest online plea to Tim, asking the super producer to make him popular.

The video for Nelly Furtado's second single from her Spanish-language album, Mi Plan, is a restrained, mannered domestic drama. But frankly, I'm finding all this about as plausible as any given Nicolas Cage movie.

Just look at the first scene. Nelly Furtado makes her man some breakfast, and said man can't manage to tear his eyes away from his Twitter updates or his E-Trade account or whatevs. Well... I call you-know-what on this.

Dude! It's Nelly Furtado! And she made you a really good-looking breakfast! It's not some mole-covered gargoyle shoving a half-toasted Pop Tart in your face. Is there a man on this increasingly-less-green Earth who would turn down a delicious breakfast from Nelly Furtado!? I think we all know the answer to that.

I'm not even gonna get into the fact that this cat is apparently being a dog behind Nelly's back, while she sleeplessly lies in bad, awaiting his return.

Nelly Furtado, your Spanish-language music is fantastic. But, please, make more plausible videos.

It's time for another round of MTV.com's "What Were U Thinking" fashion re-hashing -- this time Nelly Furtado's in the hot seat! Check the interview below to get Nelly's take on her "expecting" red carpet gown -- a custom-designed piece she stands by, though she's rethinking the hair and jewelry (so glad you're back to brunette, Nels!).

Going back in time to when she was still developing Brand Nelly, Nelly Furtado's wardrobe consisted of fresh-out-the-box Fornarinas and Miss Sixtys. Ah, simpler times! But we love Nelly's more mature looks, especially those studded (though "non-violent") Miu Miu heels.

Check the next clip to hear the story behind Nelly's Juno Awards (the Canadian Grammys) hosting gig. Now this was some serious Brand Nelly development, with that crazy "I'm Like a Bird" costume (somewhat Gaga, no?) and harness -- though doubtful this outfit will make the heirloom pile alongside the one-of-a-kind Armani. But the feathers are still cute...
