+ Florence + The Machine's "No Light, No Light" gets the remix treatment from TV on The Radio's Dave Sitek. We approve. (Pitchfork)
+ Nicki Minaj may be part of the Super Bowl halftime show, at least that's what song "Super Hoe" hints at with her lyric "You a super hoe/2012, I'm at the Super Bowl." With she and M.I.A. working on a Madonna collabo, here's hoping for a trifecta diva halftime takeover. (MTV News)

At this point, Taylor Swift could literally sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" with President Obama and I wouldn't even be shocked. Girlfriend's got just about THE MOST stacked Rolodex I've ever seen, and it's getting borderline unfair having to talk about it all the time.
I ask you: How do you feel knowing there is a real, live human being in this world (under the age of 25, no less) who has already dueted with Justin Bieber, Usher, Shawn Colvin, Nelly, Nicki Minaj, Jimmy Eat World, Andy Grammer, Switchfoot and Ellen DeGeneres?! Now add Flo Rida to that list! During her "Speak Now" tour stopover in Miami, Taylor swift brought the "Hangover" singer up on stage to help her cover his smash "Right Round." And of course Taylor nailed it as usual.
Dressed in a sparkly black dress with a gold belt, Taylor seemed a little starstruck like a true Flo fan as she jumped around excitedly watching like a schoolgirl as Flo rapped his verses like a boss. Taylor took over vocal duties for Ke$ha who originally sang the record's hook: "You spin my head right round/Right round/When you go down/When you go down." (And don't even pretend you don't already know the rest of the lyrics by heart, OK?)
Of course, Taylor was so appreciative of Flo's amazing cameo that she did him a solid and got him a bajillion more followers Twitter name-dropped him: "Miami was awesome! Thanks to all the fans who traveled from all over, and to @official_flo for singing 'right round' with me! Insane night!"

We're starting to think that Taylor Swift has a cover record up her sleeve. Or at least we hope she does. Like we've mentioned before, the "Sparks Fly" singer has been strumming a slew of famous songs while on her "Speak Now" tour, celebrating artists native to the city where she's performing. She's done renditions of TLC, Eminem, Pink and Fall Out Boy. When does she have time to learn all these other peoples' songs on top of writing all of her own? Talent hoarder!
Most recently, St. Louis got a taste of the Taylor Swift cover treatment when she paid tribute to rapper Nelly with her version of "Just A Dream." Looking pretty in purple, Taylor politely asks the audience to "sing really loudly with me on this one, 'cause it could just be this giant mess of St. Louis-ness." The audience doesn't disappoint, following her word-for-word. Bonus points to the fan who recorded this video and gave us viewers a 360-degree perspective. You fancy, huh?
Seriously, though, if there is a Taylor Swift cover album in the works, we've got a whole list of what we think the acoustic angel should cover: Alanis Morissette's "Ironic", anything by Katy Perry, and Destiny Child's "Bills, Bills, Bills." A Destiny's Child Taylor Swift cover? I DIE.

I wont lie: I say a daily prayer (or seven) asking the music gods for new Justin Timberlake music. They must have heard my prayers (PRAISE) because we got to see Justin flex his musical muscles on his appearance last night on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon." It's not a new album or anything, but the result was almost equally as awesome.
As a follow-up to their incredible "The History Of Rap," Justin and Fallon (Jallon?) dropped their fiery sequel aptly titled, "The History Of Rap Part 2." Though it was clearly just an act, while being interviewed by Fallon, a seemingly coy Justin was reluctant to even think about attempting to top "Part 1": "No, no, no, stop. It's not gonna happen." said Justin. "We can't do it again, we can't top--" And then JT intentionally gazed over to Jimmy and reached behind him to grab a mic... Game on, folks.
Backed by The Roots, Justin and Jimmy voyaged down rap's memory lane (part 2): Salt-n-Pepa's "Push It," Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby," DMX's "Party Up," and (my personal favorite) Nelly's "Hot in Herre" all made an appearance. And in between a little Cali Swag District and 50 Cent, the duo seamlessly transitioned into Lil Wayne's "A Milli" just before closing out their set with Biz Markie's "Just A Friend."
I'm not sure why it takes a late-night show to get Justin Timberlake to hum a few bars, but I think we'd all like to extend a collective "THANKS!!" to Jimmy Fallon for facilitating even the tiniest hum from Justin's previously on-strike vocal chords.

Trey Songz, sex inventor. Nicki Minaj, Harajuku Barbie. A duet between the two. It's getting hot in herre (aaaaaand shout out to my 2002 Nelly reference).
The aforementioned inventor of coitus, perhaps feeling the burden of such a title, has adopted a new moniker for himself: "Mr. Steal Your Girl." And when Trey Songz isn't booty-snatching/robbing people of their significant others, he's making lithe, cocky R&B, like this track, "Bottoms Up," taken from his forthcoming album, Passion, Pain & Pleasure.
Much like Trey's earlier ditty, "Say Aah," this one is about the joys of enjoying a frosty beverage at the nightclub of your choosing. It's got a real R. Kelly vibe to it, which will probably annoy Trey to read (assuming he's reading ... what up, Trey!) since Songz has had a checkered past with The Closet Man.
Nicki Minaj has an unquenchable thirst on this track, ticking off a bar's worth of cocktails in her inimitable baby-talk flow.
It's happy hour, folks. Check out "Bottoms Up" as well as Trey's "Say Aah" video, all below. And watch Trey Songz's "MTV Unplugged" performances here.

Rocking some real Yahoo Serious hair (whoa, 1988 reference -- look it up), Justin Pierre and the boys from the Minneapolis emo-punk clique Motion City Soundtrack get scurrred (whoa, spelling things like Nelly -- look him up) in their video for "Disappear," the first single from their new My Dinosaur Life album.
The unnerving, Jesse Cain-directed clip follows a gal roaming around the sticks, rocking a panda mask (what?), who starts getting stalked by some rural beast. Turns out it's a head-banging mud monster (I hate those), who goes on to terrorize her and the rest of her nuclear family.
The tense, creepy tone goes well with Motion City Soundtrack's slightly different sound, one that could safely be described as '90s-style modern rock; a step away from their more poppy fare.
Motion City Soundtrack's My Dinosaur Life is out January 19th, 2010 and, FYI, it was produced by Blink-182's Mark Hoppus.

+ Project Runway winner Christian Siriano just launched a new makeup line for Victoria's Secret Beauty and he wants to give you a downtown makeover, and not in the hot-tranny-mess way. (NYMag)
+ Kylie Minogue, touring North America next month, is looking (what'd you say, Christian?) fierce on the cover of Instinct magazine. (We Are Pop Slags)

+ Seemed like a case of deja vu when Madonna showed up at last night's Costume Institute Gala at The Met looking a hot mess (just like that time she looked like Little Bo Peep on crack -- see above). Her only saving grace this time around was that she had arm candy Jesus Luz with her. <LICK!> (D Listed)
+ Rihanna, on the other hand, looked fuggin GORGEOUS, even in men's clothing. (MTV News)
+ Maybe if she didn't oversing EVERY. SINGLE. NOTE. then Jennifer Hudson wouldn't be forced to cancel dates on her tour due to throat-related issues. Whatevs. Still LOVE that girl. (Singersroom)
+ Mom's pride and joy Heidi Montag will be posing topless for Playboy as a wedding gift to her husband Spencer Pratt. Personally, I'd have preferred a nice bottle of champers, but that's just me. (Pop On The Pop)

+ I just CAN'T with these celebrities and their fragrances. Now Nelly?? REALLY?? (Bossip)

Do we really need to outline all the many reasons America's sweetheart Taylor Swift would make the universe's best girlfriend? Is the WWW even BIG enough?
Aside from the fact that she's: gorge, totally talented, a hockey fan, AND Jonas Brothers-approved, we think there are some other importante things to note about why we would totally, truly, madly, deeply love it (IF we were a guy... or into chicks...) and IF Taylor Swift were our girlfriend.
5. We'd Be Fully Famous: So, not to be all "me, me, me," BUT Taylor has been very clear about the fact that she writes honest songs. In the March issue of SELF magazine, she even said: “If you don’t want me to write bad songs about you, then don’t do bad things.” Statistically speaking, chances are we'd do something stupid, Taylor would get mad, and then she'd write a song about us! Yay!
4. The Brothers Jonas: I know Taylor's so over her cell phone split from Joe Jonas, and of course I'd wait until the second or third date to bring it up, but it still would be fun to dish and get the once-and-for-allskies real-deal scoop on what went down Jonas-wise.
3. The Sparkly Guitar: Maybe she'd let us play it! (And don't even front like you're NOT completely obsessed with that thing too!)
2. Horse Play: She could teach us how to ride a horse!
1. DEMI LOVATO! So, if we dated Taylor Swift, we'd obvs have to meet her friends. And that means Demi Lovato! Are you reading this, Taylor? Seriously: We love hockey and horses (and Kings of Leon sometimes too), so let's hang!
Okay. Now we're gonna watch "White Horse" (oh what IS UP, Laguna Beach alum, Stephen Colletti?) and weep into our pillow again.

So, I just interviewed Jadakiss -- dude was hilarious, and I'll have the interview for you soon -- but while we were waiting in the green room for the shooter to finish setting up the camera, this song came on the TV, which was playing MTV Jams: "Over And Over" by Nelly, featuring Tim McGraw, which was an unlikely but amazing pairing. It's the smoothest cold-weather throw-back track (all the way back to 2004!) I totally forgot about but am SO glad is now totally on replay in my personal rotation.
Jadakiss turned it up and started singing along, and soon we were joking around about how we'd have that song stuck in our heads "over and over and over" until something else unforgettable comes along to replace it. (Like something off 'Kiss' upcoming album, The Last Kiss, or Jadakiss' "Letter to B.I.G." Shout out to the Coogi sweater!)
