Last night's 2011 TeenNick HALO Awards packed a whole lot of goodness under one roof. Highlights not only included celebrating inspirational teens that devote their spare time to charities and good causes, but also gathered celebs like Lady Gaga, Mary J. Blige, and Nick Cannon to honor the winners! This ain't some honor roll ceremony in your school cafeteria, y'all!
If the thought of being in the same room with Lady Gaga makes you hyperventilate, imagine what WeStopHate.org award honoree Emily-Anne Rigal was thinking when Mother Monster greeted her backstage after a live show and offered two VIP tickets to the HALO Awards. A clip shows the pair hugging out their excitement and striking a paws-up pose (and our lil' ol' blog got a shout out -- HOLLAAA.)
Taylor Swift got a chance to sneak away from her adorable kitten to deliver HALO winner James O' Dwyer his VIP tickets after one of her concerts. James was honored for starting Magnolia Disaster Relief, a group that helps tornado victims. We just can't tell what's cuter: How giddy Taylor gets when she gives him the tickets or how adorbz starstruck James seems to be at the "Sparks Fly" singer. You know that old saying that we just made up: Nice guys may finish last, but at least they get to hang out with Taylor Swift.
+ Watch some Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift surprising their fans, check out the 2011 TeenNick HALO Award highlights, and catch a re-airing of the show TONIGHT at 9 p.m. ET on TeenNick!

Nick Cannon would like to know if you'd like your hamburger medium or medium RARE. The new father of twins with wife Mariah Carey (Monroe and Moroccan, lest you forget) donned a hilarious chef's hat to serve as the "grill master" at Nathan's annual Fourth Of July Hot Dog Eating Contest on Monday. Combined with his mustache, it DOES give him a little Swedish Chef (of The Muppets) meets Chef Louis (of "The Little Mermaid") appeal, doesn't it? Side note: Are fictional chefs contractually required to rock 'staches? DISCUSS. Anyway, the hot dog competition takes place in Brooklyn's Coney Island and is open to the public, drawing hungry crowds of professional EATERS from the New York City area. Seriously, each participant is the champion of his or her region. Oh hot dog eating competitions. You simultaneously impress and disgust us.
Hey Nick? We're rocking our eating pants, so make sure there's enough mustard left for us, 'kay? As long as you don't have some kind of marketing deal with Pepto-Bismol to serve us the kind of food that will render us in NEED of it.

It is indeed your lucky day if you were hoping to see Nick Cannon in KISS makeup and a codpiece. Or Nick Cannon as Antoine Dodson. Or Nick Cannon as Michael Jackson. Or Nick Cannon do a SPOT-ON MC Hammer. Akon (the actual guy, not Nick Cannon dressed as Akon) assists in this hilarious spoof of both eternal and fleeting fame.
Nick reminds us of his comedy chops as well as his awe-inspiring abs. Damn, Mariah Carey. No wonder you've got two babies. Go 'head! Get it!
"Famous" is the first single off of Nick's upcoming Mr. Showbiz album. Hide ya kids, hide ya wife!

So... OK. Ciara was in Times Square yesterday singing in honor of The Candie's Foundation's "Don't Be A Statistic" event to raise awareness to help prevent teen pregnancy. Also on hand was YouTube phenomenon Keenan Cahill, whose lip-synch videos on YouTube have been viewed nearly 40 million times. Ciara may have been compared to Janet Jackson, but can she say she shot a YouTube video in her bedroom that featured 50 Cent (as far as we know)? No, she cannot (although -- fair is fair -- she is pretty amazing at singing and dancing and being gorgeous).
Keenan, who is 16, took a break from teaming with Lil Jon and Nick Cannon to raise awareness about a worthy cause. How did he do that? By lip synching "You Can't Hurry Love" by The Supremes while a bunch of pregnant ladies danced behind him. So that's weird. But whatever gets the word out, right?
Of course, we'd be lying if we wished Ciara had thrown down a dope performance of "Work" or "Promise" for the crowd, but beggars can't be choosers... unless you're begging Keenan Cahill to lip-synch a Motown classic, in which case, sure, why not?

After asking us to take some guesses, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have revealed the names of their newborn twins after what seemed like forever (two days), and chances are you weren't even close. While most of us had our money on "Butterfly Angel" and "Rainbow Fantasy" (or "Mimi 1" and "Mimi 2"), it turns out the couple went (just a touch) more traditional.
Mariah and Nick named their son Moroccan Scott Cannon, after the decor style of the top level of Mariah's NYC apartment where Nick proposed. Their daughter, Monroe Cannon, is named after Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe.
So there you have it, folks. Not exactly "Bob" and "Susie," but not as WTF as "Pilot Inspektor" either. Well done, Cannon family!

Look, we don't know much about pregnancy, but we're pretty sure that when a lady is with child, she's supposed to basically avoid anything that can threaten the health of the kid(s), including beer, wine and even the "safest" over-the-counter drugs. For the most cautious moms-to-be, sometimes aspirin goes ignored during those special nine months. So should we be worried that Mariah Carey keeps painting her very pregnant abdomen? Safe or not, this whole paint-my-pregnancy thing has gotten a little OOC.
It is so great that Mimi and hubby Nick Cannon are prepared to welcome twinsies into the world. And while it should be celebrated, Mariah's bizarre embrace of almost obscene photos, featuring photos of her tummy being caressed or sporting a painted butterfly has reached a saturation point, as of yesterday (when she tweeted yet another picture of Easter-themed belly art). It's high time that Mimi and Nick keep just these last few days to themselves, preparing to welcome two beautiful babies into the world without breaking out the watercolors every time Mariah lifts up her shirt to feel the tots kicking. It's time to TAKE IT EASY, you guys. Turn off your smartphones, put your Twitter accounts on hold, turn up some "Dreamlover" and start keeping some things (i.e. the birth of your first children) sacred.
We'll see you when you pop, Mimi! Don't worry -- we'll be waiting!

We felt a bit of déjà vu today when our wide eyes were greeted with the sight of another magazine spread featuring super-pregnant Mariah Carey (with hubby Nick Cannon) baring... everything, this time in the British version of OK! Magazine. Mariah's spent the latter half of her career proudly touting her curves, but ever since she became pregnant with twins, it feels like someone told her that the best way to show parental pride was to just stop wearing clothes.
Don't get us wrong: We're huge fans of Mariah, and we're also in agreement that the process of a woman carrying children is a beautiful thing. The fact that two people can create life, incubating inside a woman's stomach for nine months, remains a baffling feat of science that symbolizes the enormity of love. (And blah blah blah, science, nature, love, etc.) We couldn't be happier for Mariah and Nick as they enter a brand-new world where their lives focus entirely around two tiny bundles of joy.
But, honestly, what is happening here? Demi Moore may have spearheaded the idea of famous pregnant ladies getting naked for magazines with her Vanity Fair cover, but these pics are just... It's a lot. If anything, we'd have expected the Mariah we know to surround herself with bright, gauzy lighting and pink, girly ornaments. Instead, it feels a little like she and Nick stripped down inside a suburban Glamour Shots studio.
Look, we get that the happy is couple is excited about the pending parenthood, but do we need to see everything all the time? Nick is obviously one proud papa, but getting all up next to Mariah's no-no zone is a little photographic TMI. We wish the couple nothing but the best, but we've seen all we need to see. Cover up, kids!

Dear Mariah Carey,
First of all, happy (belated) birthday. We hope it didn't get overshadowed by Lady Gaga's birthday. That's gotta be annoying, sharing a birthday with another very famous person.
Anyway, we congratulate you on your impending additions to your family. We're very, very happy for you and Nick Cannon. And we appreciate your interest in expressing your creativity through an arts and crafts project! But we're concerned that you've used your belly as the canvas. And then took a picture of your belly. And then then tweeted it to the free world.
Of your be-butterflied belly, you tweeted "My attempt @ festiveness on 327! For ATLITL thank u + I♥U! Comin soon #dembabies! LYMA+thanx 4 making me happy:)."
Mariah's babies nearly arrived yesterday, but the almost-delivery proved to be a false alarm.
Doll, we're just saying. When we find ourselves harboring intense, grandiose artistic visions for ourselves, we head to Color Me Mine and glaze a bowl. And maybe you should think about that next time? Here's to your riding out the rest of your pregnancy with a nice stack of heavy-duty paper from Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores and a Crayola 94-pack at the ready, so you can capture all of your creative visions THERE. And not on your stomach. We look forward to meeting your twin bundles of joy in the near future.
Love,
Us
