It's Tuesday! Time for another round of 5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week!
OMG... It's Valentine's Day, everybody! I hope your day is full of love, laughter and sugary confections -- whether you're trading teddy bears, chocolates and kisses with that special someone or you're holed up in your bedroom all night with a bottle of Merlot watching a "Real Housewives" marathon full of bitterness and resentment because this is the first time you're spending Valentine's Day alone in over six years!
What? Oh, no. Why would I be talking about me? That would be a really awkward over-share. HA! HAHA! YAYYY, Valentine's Day!

1.) Cassie, "King of Hearts"
Apart from Madonna, there's no comeback quite as highly anticipated in my book this year as Cassie. Nearly six years since the release of her chilly R&B masterpiece ("Me & U") and several months of teasing previews and snippets, the half shave-headed New London-born beauty (CT pride, y'all!) has finally returned in the most glorious of ways with "King of Hearts," the lead single from her forthcoming album.
"You are the prince of charm, seduction is your art/You'll never play my love/You're just my king of hearts," Cassie croons amidst chilly echoes, blazing hot four-to-the-floor Ibiza beats and infectious hand-claps. Serving shades of Kelis' Flesh Tone and a hint of Janet's "Rock With U," "King of Hearts" is nothing short of a sexual sonic mini-revolution of 22nd century tranced-out seduction.
Between Cassie's sexy speak-sung delivery and those pulsating beats (not to mention that video, in which the Bad Boy songstress flaunts her luscious lady lumps), "King of Hearts" is the ultimate aphrodisiac for a Valentine's Day romp for the record books. It's honestly just... I need to take a walk. Cool off, cool off!
+ LISTEN TO CASSIE, "KING OF HEARTS"
2.) Nicki Minaj, "Starships"
Take David Guetta's "Where Them Girls At," multiply it with the rallying "Whoa-oh-oh!" chant of Britney's "Till The World Ends," a touch of P!nk's "Raise Your Glass" and divide it all by a bouncy RedOne-produced beat. Carry the five, add the ten... yep: It's Nicki Minaj's bananas o'clock club banger "Starships," the new single off of her increasingly eclectic new record, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.
"Starships were meant to fly/Hands up, and touch the sky!" Minaj cries out above the blaring synthesizers before the song utterly explodes into an insane beat breakdown. Between refusing to pay rent, dancing all night and championing gay rights ("F--- who you want and f--- who you'd like!"), I'm terrified and completely mind-boggled, but my body just wants to move. Hands up and touch the sky!
+ LISTEN TO NICKI MINAJ, "STARSHIPS"

Listen to Nicki Minaj's 'Starships.'
Another day, another new Nicki Minaj record. In the midst of tearing up her Grammy performance Nicki's also found the time to debut her radio-ready new single, "Starships." Produced by RedOne (Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez) "Starships" is slated to appear on Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, due out April 3.
Perhaps one of the most radio-friendly, pop-laden singles we've heard from Nicki in a while, "Starships" kinda sounds like it could have also been a David Guetta or Flo Rida record with a rap hook thrown on it. Translation: "Starships" is the world's next big party anthem. Boom, done.

Nicki Minaj's 'Starships' single cover.
+ Fresh off her Grammy performance, Nicki Minaj's cover art for new song "Starships" was revealed. The song also debuts today. "Oh my god, this is gonna be big," Ryan Seacrest tweeted yesterday. "Premiere tmrw @onairwithryan." (Just Jared)
+ Taylor Swift gave MTV News the scoop behind "Safe & Sound," her song with The Civil Wars from the "Hunger Games" soundtrack. "I just knew that I wanted it to deal with the empathy, sort of the more sensitive side, the bittersweet side of this story," she said. (MTV News)
+ Selena Gomez and The Scene are no longer together... for now. But don't worry, Sel fans, it sounds like an amicable split. She says she wants to focus on films, and "I want my band to play music wherever and with whoever. We will be back, but it will be a good while." (E!)
+ Watch Ashanti pay tribute to Whitney Houston yesterday on "Good Morning America." Her impromptu tribute included "I Have Nothing" and a snippet of "I Will Always Love You." (Billboard)
+ Are Kanye West and Odd Future headed for a collaboration? If these photos of Kanye, Frank Ocean and Tyler the, Creator are any indication, it's possible. Ocean is reportedly already on board for Kanye's G.O.O.D. compilation. (Pitchfork)
+ Rihanna kept on rocking directly after her Grammy performance. Ri hit L.A.'s House of Blues with deadmau5, Calvin Harris and Swedish House Mafia's Sebastian Ingrosso for a charity event. Peep the photos. (Rap-Up)

Nicki Minaj Performing 'Roman Holiday' at the 2012 Grammy Awards
In between dressing up in head-to-toe religious garb and dominating her Grammy performance, a new Nicki Minaj song has surfaced, "Young Forever." While the song's origins are unclear, it's rumored to have been produced by the famed Dr. Luke and is slated to appear on Nicki's forthcoming Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded release.
Truthfully, we don't even care if "Young Forever" is a B-side demo from 2008 because it is full-on bangin'! (Read: I already added it to my gym mix.) Led by a sweet piano melody, the synth-heavy, sugary-sweet pop record is a vocal-fest for Nicki who does not rap (even once!) throughout the entire record. She also gets pretty emo as she sings of a love she wishes she could freeze in time (Drake?!): "Look in my eyes/So that I always will remember/ Frozen in time/ Always be mine/Baby boy, you’ll be young forever/I'll be over here/You'll be over there/I'ma shed a tear."

Adele finally "had it all"! The "Rolling In The Deep" singer cemented her place in music history by walking home with six awards at the 2012 Grammys! And doesn't she just look right at home accepting all those awards? We think so. We also think you need to check out the rest of our favorite photos from the most memorable moments of the night in our MOST AWESOME 2012 GRAMMY PHOTOS!
We hadn't seen Rihanna and Katy Perry hanging out much as of late, but it looks like the two singers/BFFs just needed a good, old-fashioned award show to bring them together again. RiRi and Katy got pretty close while they were seated in the audience, and we don't think there's a dude in America who's mad at this photo.

Nicki Minaj arriving at the 2012 Grammys
We were all anxious to see what the 2012 Grammys would have in store after we heard of the tragic, shocking death of one of music's greatest legends, Whitney Houston. But as many of her peers suggested, Whitney would have wanted the show to go on. While there was a bit of a dark overtone to the Grammys, it wasn't without proper celebration and must-see moments.
From Nicki Minaj's pope sidekick to Katy Perry debuting her new single (and burning her old flame to the ground) to Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl sticking up for old-time rock and roll, the 2012 Grammys had more than a few moments to remember. Take a look at the most-talked-about moments from the show below, and be sure to check out all of MTV's 2012 Grammy coverage for more information, a complete winners list and video highlights from the show.
+ Nicki Minaj arrived wearing that red thing with someone dressed like the pope: Definitely a daring move on the night after Whitney Houston passed away. I know they don't have anything to do with one another, but that kind of showy ostentation is usually frowned upon after such a tragic event.
+ Bruno Mars' splits on stage during his James Brown-inspired performance of "Runaway": Whoa, Bruno. Didn't know you could get down like that... literally.
+ Kelly Clarkson's continued reign of Supreme Flawlessness: The woman does no wrong, let's just face facts. Her performance of "Don't You Wanna Stay" with Jason Aldean was like, perfection. Objective perfection.

Nicki Minaj, Adele and Katy Perry will perform at the 2012 Grammys.
The 54th Annual Grammy Awards are this Sunday, people, and we hope you'll be keeping up with every last detail of the show like we will (with a livestream, duh). With performances by Chris Brown, Katy Perry, and Coldplay with Rihanna, to name a few, this year's show is probably going to get some trending topics going.
And while we know Adele's going to slay everyone during her performance, and Lady Gaga will obviously be wearing something wild and crazy, we're having more fun thinking about the things we really want to see go down that probably won't. For instance, Taylor Swift showing up in a sparkle-free ensemble?! Or our first glimpse of Blue Ivy Carter?! Not very likely, but let a girl dream, will ya?
10 Things We Want To See At The Grammys (That Probably Won't Happen)
1.) Katy Perry and Russell Brand reconcile. -- Katy Perry throws a curve ball and performs a cover of the "Aladdin" classic "A Whole New World" alongside soon-to-be ex-husband Russell Brand. They kiss and make up at the end of the song; the world's equilibrium is restored.
2.) Blue Ivy Carter debuts her first song. -- Despite her lack of motor skills, we learn that Blue Ivy's been slaving away in the studio on her debut single. It will break all iTunes records ever recorded.
3.) Adele is photographed smiling. -- You don't get that good at brooding without a lot of practice. Don't get us wrong, Adele's our pretend girlfriend, but we'd love to see a candid pic of the "Someone Like You" singer having a really good time.
