Josie Maran's been modeling since she was 12, graced the covers of Glamour six times and Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue three times and was the face of Guess. She also appeared in the Backstreet Boys' "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" video in 1997, as the only person in the video who wasn't wearing werewolf of Phantom of the Opera makeup.
Speaking of makeup, while Josie was the face of Maybelline, these days she's all about makeup that's green AND glam: In 2006 she started Josie Maran Cosmetics, a brand of beauty products that are gentle to the planet and your face. So, right -- Josie Maran is not only naturally beautiful, but she's also an enviromentally friendly entrepreneur, and she's unbelievably down to earth (if you'll pardon the pun.) Oh, and Josie's also a bit of a tech geek too; when I met her a few weeks ago, we instantly bonded over the efficiency of the Flip cam for shooting quick videos like the one below!
+ Watch Josie Maran share beauty, fashion, and environmentally friendly tips for prom in this exclusive Buzzworthy video! And watch more celebrity prom videos!
PS: Josie waited until she finished high school to take on modelling full time. So stay in school!

Guys, bow ties are totally the new regular ties. Don't believe me? Check out Honor Society's Michael Bruno and Alexander Noyes. And Andre 3000. AND Rihanna at the Met Costume Institute Gala. AND Barack Obama -- he wore a white satin J. Crew bow tie to those 10 billion inaugural balls!)
So if you're thinking of rocking the bow tie at prom (or going to prom with Honor Society), you need to know how to tie one, because those things don't just tie themselves (unless, of course, you get the pre-tied bow tie, which is fine. I'm all about shortcuts.)
Mark Salgado, owner of Toronto bespoke men's suit store House of Salgado, shared these step-by-step instructions to help you learn how to tie a bow tie. Here goes...
1.) Stand in front of a mirror. Okay?
2.) Okay. Now, place the bow tie around your neck, situating it so that end "A" is longer than end "B."
3.) Cross end "A" over "B."
4.) Bring end "A" under and through the loop.
5.) Double "B" over itself to form the base loop of the tie.
6.) Loop "A" over the center of the loop you just formed.
7.) Holding everything in place, double "A" back on itself and poke it through the loop behind the tie.
8.) Adjust the tie by tugging at the ends of it and straightening the center knot.
Still not convinced bow ties are the way to go? After the jump, check out Tumbler & Tipsy's Tipsy Ties -- they're one-of-a-kind ties handmade from vintage fabric and embellished with vintage details like Russian pins from the 1970s. Tipsy Ties hang on a chain, so you don't have to tie them. Ever. Oh, and not only are they recycled, but at under $35 each, they're also super economical. And take it from Taking Back Sunday, prom's not always the most economical of events...

I asked Boys Like Girls to go prom with me and Buzzworthy, but Martin was too busy blogging, and Bryan Donahue and John Keefe were working on Boys Like Girls' new album and getting ready for their summer tour and the mtvU Sunblock Music Festival (Gym Class Heroes, The Academy Is, The Veronicas, and Never Shout Never + four cities + four shows).
Fortunately, Paul DiGiovanni said he'd go to prom with me, but then he stood me up for Lily Allen. Oh well. At least he's dumping me for someone cute... I bet Ashley Tisdale would've gone too.
+ After the jump, see how Paul DiGiovanni and Lily Allen's prom date would go, and watch a bunch of BLG live performances and videos. And check out more celebrity proms too.

The thought of going to prom with David Archuleta is so unbelievably, arrestingly adorable that it's probably best not to even entertain those dreamy Mcdreams, because it's just fertile ground for getting absolutely, Archudorably carried away.
I mean Archie -- who's never been to an actual prom but has been to a Senior Ball -- would wear the CUTEST tie and possibly something red (because David looks THE CUTEST in red, no? And purple! And scarves! Arghh!), and we'd maybe dance to "I Will Always Love You," or something by McFly, or Demi, or Pink, or Jason Mraz or we could even dance to his duet with Miley. Would that be weird? And OMG, Archie would ramble and be like "haha" all the time, and it'd be pretty much the best night ever.
But, since my big dream date with David Archuleta hasn't happened yet, I'll just have to settle for this prom interview with David. (Mentally, I'm substituting myself in every time I refer to "your date.") And now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to water my corsage and brush my David Archuleta Build-A-Bear's hair. "Haha!"

So it's not technically a prom dress, but the white-gold jacquard Shoshanna sweetheart dress Taylor Swift wore in London last week (around the time her painted-on "13" tattoos surfaced) is total prom princess perfection. Want it? It's $310 and available at eDressme.com and Bergdorf Goodman.
Taylor's Shoshanna sweetheart dress actually looks like a more grown-up version of the dress she wore to the prom party her record label, Big Machine, threw her in May 2008 to celebrate her graduation from high school, the triple-platinum success of her self-titled debut album, and "Our Song"'s comfortable six-week stay at No. 1 on the Billboard country charts.
Below, watch Taylor at her fake-prom in May 2008, watch more Buzzworthy prom videos, and find out more about Donate My Dress -- a national prom/ formal dress drive where you can donate or receive a dress. Taylor Swift donated a prom dress last month. Because she's a princess.

Today our mission is to rewrite the list of the cheesiest, most ridiculous prom songs ever. Some of them will be wonderful. Others, just plain terrible. But none of them will be Chris DeBurgh's "Lady In Red." Why in the world are they still playing that slop at prom? It's the romantic equivalent of "The Hokey Pokey." And while we're at it, are you familiar with the mind-boggling lyrics of Eric Clapton's unkillable prom wrecker, "Wonderful Tonight"? Read them and weep:
We go a party/ And everyone turns to see/ This beautiful lady/ Thats walking around with me/ And then she asks me/ Do you feel alright?/ And I say, Yes. I feel wonderful tonight.
Unreal, right? Are prom DJs living underground?? Do they work for your parents?!? It's appalling. But, bad as cheesy prom ballads can be, they play an important role in our culture. Without "Lady In Red," can you imagine how many boring old people would never have fallen in love? That is why I offer you the following cheeseballs. So that maybe we can get through our lives and still fall in love, without ever hearing "Lady In Red" or "Wonderful Tonight," ever again.
+ "Truly Madly Deeply," by Savage Garden
One of the first questions I ask when judging a prom song is, "Does this amazing love ballad inspire me to ball both of my hands into fists, hold them out in front of my face and sing along with my eyes closed really tight?" Savage Garden is a major "YES." This means that it packs the emotional wallop of a Creed video without bumming you out by being a Creed video.
+ "Thunder," by Boys Like Girls
Your voiiiiiiice! Oh MAN! If you're already slow-dancing face-to-face when the epic chorus of this new-school tear-jerker hits and you don't make out, check your chest for a heart.
+ "Kiss From A Rose," by Seal
This song was meant to be heard outside in the pouring rain. For chicks, it's the ultimate, because all of them dream of making out with Batman. Bonus points for including "Kiss" in the title.
+ "Imma Put It On Her," by Day26
Subtlety is great, but sometimes you gotta just cut right to the chase. Day26 pull no punches on this prom-ready, perv-out, egging on the shiest of dancers with lines like, "Booty bumpin’ like the sounds in my car (she should)/ Let me take it up a notch/ Get her off the block/ Take her to my spot and it’s on!"
+ "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?" by Timon, Pumbaa, Simba, Nala and Jungle Chorus
As a prom ballad, "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" is interchangeable with any Disney love theme of the past 20 years ("Did you ever hear the wolf cry at the blue corn moon?," anyone?). This one's only downfall is that it's not sung by Peabo Bryson, who, if cheesy love songs had their own country, would be a shoo-in for President. Its greatest asset: inclusion of the word "vagabond," which, let's face it, is one of the world's most romantic words.
+ "Let Me Love You," by Mario
Dudes. No matter how bad of a scrub you are, when Mario's bumping hard out of the PA, you become righteous just by association (although if you're really bad it may have the opposite effect). Look: "If I was your man, baby you'd/ Never worry 'bout what I do/ I be comin' home back to you/ Every night, doing you right." On top of that, this beat could make a corpse do a neckpop. We asked We The Kings' Travis and Hunter how their proms went, and while Travis had a major prom faux pas (probably the biggest one next to splitting your pants down the middle), he totally did the right thing and blamed it, Jamie Foxx style.
After the jump, watch Travis and Hunter share their prom memories, and watch Jamie Foxx blame it on everyone and everything.
Plus, get more prom memories from Taking Back Sunday, Honor Society, All Time Low, and more. (Time circuits on. Flux Capacitor... fluxxing. Engine running. All right!...)

After spending nearly 10 solid minutes talking to Taking Back Sunday about prom -- seriously, once they started going, they were unstoppable -- I've decided that talking about prom with Taking Back Sunday is probably more fun than going to prom.
If you're really a true Taking Back Sunday fan, you'll watch all six (plus) minutes. We left it unedited because there was just so much rich material in there... I mean Mark O'Connell getting attacked by birds on the beach? It's straight out of an episode of Saved By The Bell.
And Matt Rubano was so traumatized by prom that he bailed early and pretty much needed to file for a legal annulment the next day. Also, Eddie Reyes has been to five (!!!) different proms, none of which were his own.
So, if you thought about asking any of Taking Back Sunday if they wanna go to prom with you, the answer is probably no. See why in this brand-new Buzzworthy video interview...

My biggest regret in my life used to be not owning a unicorn. Now it's not owning a time machine that'd enable me to go back in time, convince my parents to move to New Jersey and allow me to go to prom with all of Honor Society -- Michael Bruno, Andrew Lee, Alex Noyes, and Jason Rosen -- who had LONG hair at his prom! Can I get a WITNESS? Photographic evidence? OMG, I'd totally wear some kind of Katy Perry-inspired dress (or maybe something Taylor Swift-y?), we'd dance to 50 Cent, do the Honor Roll, and then we'd all get Pinkberry after.
+ After the jump, Watch Honor Society share their prom memories, and get more Buzzworthy prom stories. Oooh, and while you're here, stay tuned for more exclusive Honor Society videos and photos, coming soon soon soon!

You're probably never going to get a chance to go to prom with All Time Low (though an afterparty is a different story). So instead, enjoy the next-best thing: Jack Barakat and Rian Dawson's emailed accounts of their proms. Ready? Here's how prom went for Jack and Rian...
Jack Barakat: Alex's date's family owned a tour bus, so we decided it would be pretty sick to roll up to prom in that. Everyone else rolled up in limos, but we had to roll deep. Also it was our first time ever being on a tour bus.
Rian Dawson: Being there with three-fourths of the band (Zack went to a different high school) and all our girlfriends made the night. We took a tour bus down and then just drove around the city afterward doing things we probably should have been 21 for.
Buzzworthy: Who was your prom date?
Rian: Kara D.
Buzzworthy: Which songs did you dance to at prom?
Rian: Proms are hell, and I'm not much of a dancer, so I spent most of the time eating.
Buzzworthy: (Resists "I Can't Do the One-Two Step" joke.) Fair enough. What'd you wear to prom?
Rian: A champagne -and-black tux.
Buzzworthy: What did you do after prom?
Rian: Drove around the city in a tour bus.
Buzzworthy: What would you go back and do differently if you could?
Rian: Drink beforehand.
Buzzworthy: Ohhhhh, Rian! Do you have a prom photo?
Rian: I'm sure my Mom does...
+ Watch All Time Low's new tour diary, and if you see them on the Believers Never Die Part Deux Tour, you should ask him about that prom photo. Plus, watch Cassadee Pope's prom video, and get non-hoochie mama prom tips from The Veronicas. And stay tuned for prom videos from We The Kings.
