Now that a new "American Idol" winner has been crowned, why not take a look back at how the show's first winner, Kelly Clarkson, has been doing these past nine years? More than anyone, Kelly Clarkson, who's got a new single coming out in July (FINALLY!), has come to symbolize the show's very American message that any ordinary citizen can become wildly successful, assuming they're really, really talented and they work really, really hard (and maybe do a stint on reality TV).
To honor Kelly Clarkson's nine great years of success, we've put together a gallery of her finest moments. Check out some of our favorites Kelly photos below, and if that's not enough Kelly Clarkson for you, check out BUZZWORTHY'S BEST OF KELLY CLARKSON PHOTO GALLERY for lots more.

In keeping with her populist image, Kelly showed up to support her hometown's basketball team at the 2004 NBA All-Star game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. You can take the girl out of Texas...

It's only fitting that a symbol of the American dream should meet America's leader, President Barack Obama, an amazing American success story in his own right. The above photo was taken in September 2006. Kelly looks incredibly stoked (we would be, too!), while 'Idol' judge Randy Jackson appears a bit shell-shocked (we would be, too!).

And who could forget the amazing voice that made her a star in the first place? Here's Kelly belting out a song at Sydney, Australia's Entertainment Centre in March 2008.

+ Britney Spears will release her new single, "Hold It Against Me," next Tuesday. Britney tweeted the news in reaction to the leaking of an early demo of the song, stating, "Heard an early demo of my new single leaked. If u think that's good, wait til you hear the real one Tuesday." (@BritneySpears)
+ Amy Winehouse will perform some new material (finally!) this weekend in Brazil, of all places. (Vulture)
+ Meet the new judges, not quite the same as the old judges. Randy Jackson, Ryan Seacrest, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez--the new and old faces of "American Idol"--cover this week's Entertainment Weekly. (Idolator)
+ Have a gander at the cover art for "H.A.M.," the first single from Kanye West and Jay-Z's Watch The Throne. (That Grape Juice)
+ After yesterday's bad news, T.I. got some good news, legally speaking. The drug charges against his wife, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, have been dropped. (TheFABlife)

This week's MTV PUSH artist is Paper Tongues, an innovative North Carolina-bred outfit that fuses hip-hop attitude, loud rock riffs and U2-esque anthems to make a sound all their own. The band recently released its self-titled debut album and is supplying the theme song for the new MTV show "When I Was 17."
You'll be seeing a lot of Paper Tongues on MTV this week, but in case you still don't know the band, let "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson tell you a little more about how the band laced him with its demo.
Plus, watch Paper Tongues' video for "Trinity" and the epic effort "Ride to California." And after the jump, read what the guys in the band had to say about their time as teenagers.

The story is almost too good to be true: Random dude approaches super-producer Randy Jackson in a Los Angeles diner, starts talking about his band, writes down his phone number and said band's MySpace page and skadaddles. A couple hours later, Jackson calls the dude and says he digs the tuneage and wants to work with the band. Crazy, right?
The random dude was Aswan North and his band, Paper Tongues, is now signed to A&M/Octone Records and managed by Jackson. Dreams really do come true! We recently caught up with the Charlotte, North Carolina, septet for this episode of "The 5." During our rap sesh, North & Co. discusses their raucous live shows, a recent group bout with a gnarly case of the flu and how the band often busts out improv rhymes during long drives.
Paper Tongues' debut album comes out March 30, and to celebrate the release, the band has plans to crisscross the States -- and possibly beyond -- for the next 24 months. Yikes! As Jackson would say, "These guys are some road dogs, dawg!"

In her brand-new MTV Buzzworthy "The 5" interview, Brooke White confounds us with a medical mystery... she's got a twitch that doesn't sound life- threatening, but in my semi-professional opinion, she should get an MD to take a look at that. Or at least administer an official diagnosis via Twitter.
Thankfully poor Brooke's poor guitar finger is at least on the the road to recovery. And along with discussions of mild medical conditions, the American Idol Season 7 contender (she shared a stage with David Cook and Lil Archuleta!) shares more about her new album, High Hopes & Heartbreak (not to be confused with 808s And Heartbreaks), which she released on her own label, with production by Randy Jackson,
While Brooke gives no mention of American Idol in her interview (she was the one who had never seen an R-rated movie, or something?), she does offer some interesting tidbits about the recording process, childhood musical memories, and a somewhat comical phobia.
Finally, Brooke plugs her latest single, "Radio Radio," and you should take her word on this: it's summery, folky, and alt-country -- a little comfort in these hectic times.
+ Watch Brooke White's "Radio Radio" video after the jump!

Come on. Admit you laughed when Brüno's bare ass landed on Eminem's unsuspecting face last night during the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. You laughed a little? Well if you didn't laugh during MTV Movie Awards host Andy Samberg's "cool-guy action heroes blowing stuff up" homage, then you probably need to check your neck for proper blood flow. Or you need to see more movies.
+ Watch the "Explosions" digital short video from the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, featuring Will Ferrell and J.J. Abrams in an AMAZING jacket that may or may not have belonged to Randy Jackson from his Journey days. (Or Kanye West next week.)

+ When Katy Perry goes dateless for a year, it's called celibacy. For the rest of us, it's just called sad. Either way, KP has vowed to spend the next 365 or so days with her cat. (Usmagazine.com)
+ Meanwhile, Lily Allen spent three weeks in the "nuthouse" in early 2008 ... and she liked it! (Daily Telegraph - UK)
+ And speaking of Lily, we gotta give her props for her story-telling skills. Word to the wise: Next time there's a lull in the conversation, just toss in a fun facilitator like "I did once snog these identical twins in San Diego." Works every time! (Scandalist)
+ Miley Cyrus has issued a corporate America-ish PSA claiming she has nothing but love for Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, the Jonases and, presumably, everyone else on Team Disney. (MTV News)
+ What do 50 Cent and JLo have in common? It's all about the badonkadonk, baby. (Remote Control)
+ American Idol recap! Simon Cowell pretends to hate the new judge, Kara DioGuardi while Randy Jackson pretends to referee. (E! Online)
+ Jay-Z's been working on his latest album, Blueprint 3, forevs! Which is weird, since he sez he could've made "a great piece of art" in under three weeks. (MTV News)
+ Casting call! Who better to play a vampire in New Moon than the disconcertingly mature-for-her-age child star, Dakota Fanning? (MTV Movies)
