Not to make you feel bad or anything, Russell Brand, but your (soon-to-be) former wifey Katy Perry seems to be doing really well post separation. As everyone in the entire galaxy should know by now, Russell recently filed for divorce, but that hasn't stopped Katy from traveling around the world to continue her "California Dreams" tour, catering to her billions of admirers. Along with a super cheery pic of her posing with fans in Manila, Philippines, Katy recently tweeted: "I will miss ya manila!" We'd pine for Manila, too, if we got a send-off like that!

It's possible that Katy's wearing some extremely powerful concealer or something, but I don't see any signs of tears and/or bags under her eyes, which, YAY! That being said, my vote still goes toward a reconciliation because... well, will you just LOOK AT THIS PICTURE?! But if that doesn't happen, we know Katy already has millions of dudes lined up ready to reenact her "Teenage Dream" video with her. And in case you're wondering, NO, we're not jealous. (That's a lie.)

Katy Perry's personal life has been plastered all over the news lately, so we're thrilled to report that she's got some brand-new tuneage that's newsworthy in its own right. Along with a link to an acoustic version of her latest single, "The One That Got Away," Perry tweeted: "Special surprise 4U on iTunes! The amazing Jon Brion & I put a little ACOUSTIC spin on #the1thatgotaway. Hope you like!"

Survey says: We like! Katy's new take on "The One That Got Away" is poignant and sweet. The instrumentation is simple and sparse, and Katy's backed only by some light acoustic guitars and whimsical twinkling sounds that serve as the perfect backdrop for her reinterpretation. Layered harmonies come in toward the end, but Katy and her guitar carry the majority of the song.

I didn't want to go here, but I kind of have to: I can't help but think that Katy's split with her hubby Russell Brand served as the impetus to record this new song. Go with me: You can almost hear the real-life pain in Katy's voice as she sings about "the one that got away" and the pain she feels now that he's gone. But here's the best part: He's not gone forever! Thankfully, Russell wasn't in a fatal car crash like Katy's costar in the video for "The One That Got Away"! I'm no couples therapist or anything, but perhaps this version of Katy's song is a hidden message from Katy to Russell? Or maybe she just wanted to put out a new spin on one of her favorite tracks from the album. Who can say? (Hint: not us! We don't know them!)

While most of the world was busy nursing a New Year's Eve hangover, power couple (and our vote for cutest duo everKaty Perry and Russell Brand were busy nursing a pair of broken hearts. If you haven't already heard (how could you not have already heard?), Russell Brand filed for divorce from Katy Perry, his wife of one year. While we're sure there are plenty of people ready and willing to pick up the pieces (on both sides), let us walk you through the facts you need to know:

+ Russell Brand released a statement late last week, announcing, "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I will always adore her and I know we'll remain friends."

+ While apparently the decision to divorce was mutual, Katy requested that Brand be the one to actually file in an effort to respect her religious parents. Russell Brand cited "irreconcilable differences," according to TMZ.

+ The duo spent Christmas apart. Katy spent her holiday in Hawaii while Russell spent Christmas in London.

+ Ironically, Brand recently addressed divorce rumors while on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in early December 2011: "I am really happily married. I'm married to Katy. Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge."

+ While Russell and Katy's divorce may be shocking to fans, insiders say it was a long time coming. According to Us Weekly, the duo had been fighting for a while. But it was one fight in particular that finally ended the union: "She was like, 'F*** you. I'm going to do my own thing.' Russell replied, 'Fine, f*** you too,' " the source explained.

OUR HEARTS ARE BREAKING!!!!!! We really did think Russell and Katy were going to pull through. But if this split is for the best, then we wish them both well. And hey, on the bright side, a new Katy Perry demo, "Bullet," has recently surfaced, and everyone knows that the best revenge is a hot new track.

I guess the fact that Michael Bublé's holiday album Christmas is sitting comfortably atop the Billboard 200 albums chart earns him the right to make fun of every other celebrity ever. As this past weekend's musical guest on "Saturday Night Live," Bublé was joined by Jimmy Fallon for a big-ass spoof fest via a hilarious mock commercial for a fake Michael Bublé' holiday duets album featuring some of our favorite pop stars. Is it wrong that we sooooo wish this was real?

As Bublé tries to sing holiday classics, Fallon assumes the role of acts like StingRussell Brand and a purple hoodie-wearing, mushroom haircut-rocking Justin Bieber, who throws flirty heart signs and winks to the camera the entire time on-screen (art imitates life, y'all). Other celebs that received the spoof treatment: Taylor Swift, who's portrayed in a gold sparkly dress looking shocked after receiving yet another award, M.I.A. and Ke$ha, whose hair was looking just a wee bit unkempt (see last parenthetical). Country crooner and "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery was teased a little, too, while Kanye West was depicted rapping with heavy Auto-Tune and declaring he was better than Jesus. Lady Gaga got some airtime, too -- she was played by a Christmas tree. (And you and I both know that's not actually too far from the truth.)

+ Jay-Z will grace Carnegie Hall's stage in February, which will benefit United Way and the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation. "Any time I get a chance to expand and broaden the reach of hip-hop is a great thing for me on a personal level," says Jay. (MTV News)

+ Hilary Duff dishes on pregnancy, aggressive paparazzi and a possible move to Canada. Also, she says her baby son's spurring her back to music: "I don't want to waste this time because I want to get my voice in shape. He kicks me." (E!)

OK Katy Perry, we truly hope you have an amazing 27th birthday and all, but don't you think it's a tad rude to make the rest of the world's 27-year-olds feel totally inadequate? I mean, you're NOT EVEN 30 YET and you've already married the man of your dreams, toured the world, broken Billboard records and been nominated for a bazillion awards. Oh, and like we even need to say it: You're also reeeeeeally pretty!

We haven't even gotten into your personality yet! You're mad cool! You indulge in your zombie tendencies, you're big into oral hygiene, you don't mind farts and you're totally down to be "one of us" for the day by doing normal things like riding public roller coasters. You're seriously OWNING the multifaceted game.

So now that you've already accomplished being perfect on the inside and out, go celebrate your day! Maybe snuggle up in bed with your hot hubby Russell Brand and watch a "Real Housewives" marathon while eating unlimited amounts of sashimi. Or maybe just do what I did on my last birthday go around the corner to Baskin Robbins and get yourself an ice cream cake. Wait, who are we kidding? If we were you, we'd charter a private jet to Paris, have a shopping spree at Chanel, and like, rent out the Eiffel Tower... just 'cause we can.

Whatever you do decide to do today, Katy, we wish you the happiest of birthdays! And if there's an extra seat on that private jet, we can clear some room on our schedules.

Most people would probably put Katy Perry in the "so famous she can never leave her house without being bothered" category, but it seems like the "Firework" singer doesn't really care. She took to the streets of New York City this weekend with husband Russell Brand for a leisurely fall bike ride. Because yes, if I wanted a relaxing bike ride on the weekend, I would also choose the serene, calm roads of Manhattan. (That was a joke.)

Katy and Russell went incognito, each sporting sunglasses, hats and scarves, but we're guessing Katy's now famous pink hair (and probably the Mickey Mouse-inspired beanie) outed the couple pretty quickly. Also, are those leather pants, Katy? We know you're like, the queen of incredibly uncomfortable outfits, but they make these things called "jeans," and they will seriously change your life. You can bend in them! You can jump! You can sit with ease! And they're pretty great for bike rides -- look into them.

IDK if any of y'all noticed that Justin Bieber seemed kind of somber last night at the 2011 VMAs. The camera cut to him several times throughout the show, and he just didn't seem his usual self. I thought maybe it was a case of the sadz or like, maybe his leopard print high-tops were too tight. I DON'T KNOW, PEOPLE, I'm not a mind reader.

I'm also wrong, apparently, because according to this photo, Justin Bieber was having a damn good time. Video Of The Year winner (w00t!!) Katy Perry and husband Russell Brand were seated in front of Bieber in the audience and posing for what would have been a totally dece photo for the couple's fireplace mantel or a bedroom dresser... until Justin Bieber PHOTOBOMBED the hell out of it! Seriously! Look at that face!

We're glad to see you weren't actually sad last night, Biebs. And that you are still a goofy teenager. Also, commence internet Bieber Photobomb Memegate 2011 NOW.

In the night's most emotional moment, Bruno Mars, Russell Brand and Tony Bennett paid tribute to Amy Winehouse with an poignant eulogy and two powerful performances during the VMAs. Brand, Winehouse's longtime friend, repeated many of the points he wrote in his stirring tribute to the deceased singer, recounting his first meeting with Winehouse in London and calling her a "peculiar unknowable talent" and an "ordinary girl with extraordinary hair."

Comparing Winehouse to classic jazz vocalists Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald, Brand told the crowd about hearing her sing for the first time at a Paul Weller concert before discussing the singer's influence on a generation of female vocalists, including Lady Gaga, Adele and "the Mrs." Katy Perry. Brand also discussed finding a solution to the "disease of alcoholism and drug abuse."

Revered singer Tony Bennett, who recently recorded a cover of the jazz standard "Body and Soul" with Winehouse, recalled meeting the singer and recording with her in London's Abbey Studios. "Of all the young artists I've ever met in the last 20 years, she was a pure jazz artist... she had the gift," said Bennett, before showing video footage of the pair in the studio.

The tribute ended with a rousing performance of Bruno Mars covering Winehouse's version of The Zutons' "Valerie." Dressed in a throwback 1960s suit reminiscent of classic Motown singers, Mars retained the funk-laden vibe of Winehouse's version, ad-libbing a "We'll miss you baby" at the end of the track. Few in the crowd would disagree.
