+ The answer to the most pressing question facing our nation is no, Selena Gomez is not beefing with Miley Cyrus. At a recent event, Gomez told The Daily Mirror that "I'm not here to replace anyone. Miley is such a sweetheart. There is no feud, there's nothing going on." Whew. (I'm Not Obsessed)
+ Ke$ha revealed the artwork for her new single "Your Love Is My Drug." Nice to see she's still meeting her glitter quota. (Just Jared)
+ Wondering where T.I. is? According to The-Dream, he's "in the zone." I love that place, don't you? The Atlanta rapper, who recently was released from prison, is working on his new album, Paper Trail. (MTV News)
+ If you like watching some of your favorite musical acts performing their songs on psychedelic kids shows, then it's time you got yourself familiar with "Yo Gabba Gabba." The mind-bending children's show has played host to Weezer, The Killers, Sean Kingston and MGMT. (Idolator)
+ The Hills' Audrina Patridge and former Ashlee Simpson beau Ryan Cabrera broke up. The dozen people who actually knew they were dating are probably pretty bummed out. (LimeLife)

Since our lives have clearly been on hold waiting for Papa Joe Simpson's next contribution to the music industry (...), his last one of note being, of course, Ryan Cabrera's solo album (...), I'm pleased as punch to report there's now light at the end of the tunnel: Papa Joe's (latest?) Russian import An-ya has hit the U.S. with her debut solo album, Candy Shop.
An-ya already has a singing career in Russia -- and if you know about it, I am very impressed with your knowledge of Russian pop girl groups -- but she was eager to sign on up with Simpson's EMI label, which is actually called Papa Joe Records.
Anyway, things to know about An-ya? Well, she has some kinda fierce eyebrows, she hails from Vladivostok (repreSENT!), and she taught herself English by listening to Britney and The Spice Girls. When An-ya was 18, she won a contest to become one third of the Russian girl group, Yes!... hence the experience.
Quick note to An-ya, though, and maybe Papa Joe didn't tell you this, but this is like, what, the third single in recent memory called "Candy Shop"? We GET that "Candy Shop" is a metaphor and stuff, but Madonna was dishing it out long before you were, so you're going to have to bring a little something else. But I'll concede "Candy Shop" and "Nightlife" are pretty fun club numbers.
What I can't condone? Whatever was happening here at the Teen Choice Awards.

(Yes, we get it. You have a lollipop.)

Although they rule the charts in their home turf of Australia, The Veronicas have yet to find mainstream success in the U.S. So far, the biggest headlines they've made were in 2006 when Lisa Origliasso -- one-half of the group, alongside identical twin sister Jessica -- dated Ryan Cabrera.
But "Untouched" -- the first single off their sophomore album, Hook Me Up, which was released Down Under last year but just became available on iTunes a few weeks ago -- should have electro-pop lovers rejoicing that they've touched down on American soil again. Sounding like a cross between t.A.T.u. and Dragonette, The Veronicas' video for "Untouched" is reminiscent of the high-concept, stylized looks of "Mr. Brightside" and "I Write Sins Not Tragedies."
We talked to Lisa and Jessica about their new video and album and what it's like being big in Oz while still trying to make a name for themselves in the States.
Buzzworthy: Hook Me Up is huge in Australia. What are your expectations for it here?
Jessica Origliasso: In Australia, our first album went four-times platinum. It was massive. We didn't have expectations, I guess, for the second record, even over there. It was a little bit of a different sound, it was a little bit of a risk. We're just really lucky that Australian fans loved it, and it actually grasped an even bigger fanbase than the first album. I guess over here we just want to get our music out there and hope that people...
Lisa Origliasso: Can relate to it and get something from it.
BW: Is it weird going back and forth between Australia and the U.S., basically from multiplatinum stars to relative unknowns?
JO: "Untouched" was the second single in Australia, and it was huge over there. But it's not weird.
LO: I guess the biggest difference between Australia and America is people don't know us as well over here, so we have to work a little harder to let people know what we're all about. In Australia, everybody's very familiar with us, so people know what to expect.
JO: Yeah, we do find ourselves working a little harder, you know?

Dude. Can anyone tell us how Ryan Cabrera landed model/ rock royalty Riley Keough, (granddaughter of little-known musician Elvis Presley)? That's an upchicking of epic proportions. We spotted Ryan a few times in Vegas at the VMAs, including at the Star Lounge celeb gift suite, (where famous people go to get more free stuff), where he mixed tequila with Airborne tablets (uh... yum?) and looked like Slash. And not in the good way. (Check out our very own Fabrice Fabrice interviewing him).
Anyway, he was spotted this past Tuesday with his girlfriend and her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, at the Anna Sui Spring 2008 show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. Also in attendance: an allegedly glum-looking Amy Lee of Evanescence, who looked quite cute in a frock by the designer and is at least wearing a smile in these pics.
