Beyonce was up for nine VMAs and walked away with three, but not before she set figurative fire to the Radio City stage with her visually mesmerizing rendition of "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), which earned her the Video Of The Year, Best Choreography, and Best Editing Moonmen.

If you missed Beyonce's VMA performance of "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)," you missed one of the most mesmerizing live performances ever. (Also, you can watch Beyonce's "Single Ladies" performance below! Three huzzahs for technology!) It's all lasers, breathless isolations, and lockstep synchronicity. And the kind of gratuitous ass-slapping that embraces Fosse and ferocity.

Beyonce hit the VMAs like a bolt of lightening. Her VMA "Single Ladies" performance proves she's a triple threat -- but then again, that'd just imply Beyonce's got competition.

After the jump, watch Beyonce on the VMA red carpet, and watch her prove her "Queen B" namesake as she gracefully, graciously cedes her screen time to Taylor Swift after Kanye's outburst. Plus, check out photos of Beyonce with Solange, Lady Gaga, and Perez Hilton, and get more of Beyonce's big night at the VMAs.

Solange is officially the coolest celebrity I've talked to so far today at VMA rehearsals at Radio City.

I was hoping she'd oblige to having our VMA photographer, John Shearer (between him and Frank Micelotta, they've shot some of the VMAs' most iconic photos, including pretty much every unforgettable VMA photo of Britney Spears) take a quick photo of her after she finished her VMA rehearsal with Wale.

But when I approached her, she was all "Hey!!! What's up?" and actually remembered our previous interviews (once in a tiny TRL dressing room, once at an MTV Staying Alive event), and we pretty much bro'ed down (or whatever the girl equivalent is) when I flipped for her amazing eyelashes -- MAC -- her friend Janelle Monae's MAC Fashion Week event, and the horse necklace I was wearing. When she was like "how am I gonna remember the designer?" I was like, "I'll just Tweet it to you," to which Solange replied "Okay, now you're talking." WE HAD A MOMENT!

LOVE Solange and her understanding of Twitter's one-to-one efficiency. Oh yeah, wait! The photo! Check OUT that jacket; Solange is a one-woman Fashion Week. Wanna see more? Check out more shots of Solange stylishly chilled-out backstage.

Solange will be performing live with Wale at the 2009 MTV VMAs on Sunday, September 13. Don't miss it.

Wale is on top of his game.

He's also on top of me, pretty much literally, as I'm sitting underneath the metal scaffolding built out of the radio city stage, designed to look like a tiny downtown NYC venue (think Mercury Lounge, if you've been).

Above Wale, who's rhyming over a Coldplay mash-up and "Make Her Say" with Kanye, Kid Cudi, and the nine-times-nominated Lady Gaga, are about two dozen flashing LCD screens built into steel latticework. Even better? Solange is rehearsing with him.

Ever seen Rent? It feels like alphabet city before American Apparel and schmancy hotels moved in. On the other side of the house, construction's still under way on the VMA stage, and in the house, 3OH3, Pitbull, and Sway look on from the velvet seats as Wale's live band pushes through a lengthy rehearsal.  Check out more shots of Wale backstage.

+ Forget about Skipper or Teenage Prom Maxi. Who needs those shallow plastics when you can have your very own PLUS-size Beth Ditto doll complete with Victoria Principal bob and blue eyeshadow?! (The Frisky)

+ Lady GaGa's "Lovegame" video has been out for a while, but here's some pretty cool behind-the-scenes footage from the set. (Towleroad)

+ Yesterday, it was the girl from the "Thriller" video claiming she's owed royalties. Today, it's his old publicist. How many hundreds upon thousands of people will continue to sue ole frail-n-pale Michael Jackson before SOMEone, ANYone realizes that he DOESN'T. HAVE. ANY. MONEY?!?! (MTV News)

+ Solange Knowles has been tagging along with sister Beyonce on her I Am tour, singing at special afterparties and the like. Here she covers (perfectly and uniquely) Bjork's "It's Oh So Quiet." (Neon Limelight)

+ In case you're wondering what Katy Perry would look like as a midge, here you go! (Best Week Ever)

+ As cheesy as she may be, you have to give Paula Abdul some credit for turning it out on last night's American Idol. She was a'jumpin' and a'flippin' and a'whippin' that mic stand around like a rag doll, all while in 5" heels. Our favorite part was when she gets flipped over that guy like when Britney goes flying through the air in "Oops...I Did It Again." You know the part? You know the part. (Pop On The Pop)

+ Thursday LOLz courtesy of your favorite pint-sized rapper Lil Kim, who danced up on Regis Philbin during yesterday's Live With Regis And Kelly. (Rap-Up)

You what's never really THAT fun? Talking about condoms with someone you're about to have sex with. But you know what's WAY less fun? Living with a potentially fatal disease like H.I.V., when that potentially embarrassing condom could potentially save your life.

Yesterday morning I headed downtown to a fancy spot in Soho for the "Yes Yes Yes To Safe Sex" event, sponsored by MTV's Staying Alive Foundation and The Body Shop.

First, sexpert Dr. Sari Locker shared a really scary fact -- over 3,000 people between the ages of 15 and 24 are infected with H.I.V. every day. (Possible solution: CONDOMS!)

Then, (after she Tweeted me about her outfit!), I interviewed Solange Knowles (again!), who's the new spokeswoman for Yes Yes Yes To Safe Sex campaign. One of the most on-point things Solange had to say about talking about sex: "The most important thing is to be more afraid of the disease than to be afraid of talking about it."

+ See what else Solange had to say about taking some of the embarrassment out of sex-talk in this exclusive Buzzworthy interview. Plus, got $8? Get The Body Shop's Lip Butter -- $5 go directly to The Staying Alive Foundation.

And now, please welcome Travis, who'll be infusing Buzz Bites with his own uniquely hilarious brand of sarcasm.

+ Spencer Pratt thinks his Pocket Barbie soulmate Heidi Montag's version of "Fashion" is waaay hotter than Lady Gaga's. Really, Spence?  Is that why the track was left off Heidi's album entirely?  Not that I know... I read it somewhere. (Life & Style)

+ Chalk another one up for Katy Perry, who won Best International Female Solo Artist at the 2009 Brit Awards (can we say "Hello-Kitty-goes-Sandra-Dee?" MeROW!), after which she promptly threw up backstage. Oh. Coldplay went home empty-handed, if you care. (PopCrunch)

+ Just when you thought you knew everything about Lily Allen's body (third nipple anyone?), the pop tartlet Twitters the world about her new ink. (Mr. Paparazzi)

+ Speaking of nipples: Solange Knowles, we love you and everything, but ENOUGH about your nip slip, kay? Love you! Mean it! Call me! (AceShowBiz)

+ In her ongoing effort to make the most music videos by anyone EVER, Beyonce was photographed on location in Malibu. Flowy dress? Check. Very attractive man? Check. Smoke machine? Check. (JustJared)

+ Miley: We saw those new photos of your boy Justin in VMAN, and all we can say is we'll take him when you're done! Nice work! (Celebrity-Mania)

+ Can we take your order, David Archuleta? (Blogamole)

+ Kanye, we get it: You're the greatest. Now what's for lunch? (Starpulse)

+ STOP PICTURING TAYLOR SWIFT NAKED, OKAY? (Radar)

+ Trust us, you do not want to mess with Solange Knowles before she's had her morning coffee. (The Hip Hop Chronicle)

+ It's official: Usher has the best abs in the business. WE KNEW IT! (Black Voices)

+ T-Pain is accused of ruining gospel music. (MTV)

+ Axl Rose is courting Kelly Osbourne the only way he knows how. (Scandalist)

+ Chris Brown is serious about voting for Barack Obama. Dead serious... (Best Week Ever)

+ Are the Jonas Brothers growing up?? Because we were kinda hoping they'd stay EXACTLY THE WAY THEY ARE for the rest of our lives. Or at least till we're, like, 30.  (MTV)

Check this out, it's gonna be an awesome week on 'FNMTV.' Sure, that's a given, since Pete Wentz is still the host and, as usual, we've got three hot new music videos to premiere and and absolutely must-see performance. But, for some reason, we're even more excited than ever!

Let's start with We The Kings, one of our favorite bands right now, who will be performing "Check Yes Juliet" and "Skyway Ave." And we saw Pete's fellow Fall Out Boy-er Patrick Stump hanging around, too.

And then, there are the video premieres. You know the drill by now, these most awesome artists drop by to chat with Pete and take the wraps off of their newest music videos. Who's on deck this week?

The Game, who will unveil his clip for "My Life" featuring Lil Wayne, Solange Knowles, who will introduce "Sand Castle" and Gym Class Heroes, who will take the lid off of their "Cookie Jar" featuring The Dream.

PLUS, Michelle Williams will sit in on the panel to discuss all of the new videos and we'll unveil the final 2008 MTV Music Video Awards nominees for Best Rock Video and the king kahuna of all categories, Video Of The Year. Srsly sweaty stuff ...

And that's just what we know about! It's best to watch 'FNMTV' on Friday night because you never know what might happen!

In the meantime, check out these behind-the-scenes pix!

VMA nominee voting for "Best Female Video" ends at 11am ET tomorrow, so hurry up and vote for the layday you think deserves a "Best Female Video" nod. Vote here, vote NOW, and watch FNMTV this Friday to see who the nominees are!

A few Buzzworthy favey faves:

+ Robyn, "Konichiwa Bitches" -- Robyn dressed as sushi!

+ Gwen Stefani, "Early Winter" -- Classy black-and-white pouty Gwen lensed by Sophie Mueller. It's a sleeper hit but a classic.

+ Mariah Carey, "Touch My Body" -- Girl hired Brett Ratner, Kenny the Page AND a unicorn!

+ Alicia Keys, "No One" -- Sexy, suggestive piano grindin!

+ Tori Amos, "Big Wheel" -- Speaking of piano grinding... total MILF montage action from the ageless auteur.

+ Leona Lewis, "Bleeding Love" -- Hottest thing to hit Times Square since the Naked Cowboy.

+ Janet Jackson, "Feedback" -- Got milk?

+ Kid Sister, "Pro Nails" -- The Chicago MC and Kanye get on that acrylic tip.

+ Katy Perry, "I Kissed a Girl" -- Duh.

+ Jennifer Hudson, "Spotlight" -- A sophisticated approach to wack relationships.

+ Erykah Badu, "Honey" -- Like 20 videos in one, plus a salute to indie record shops!

+ Duffy, "Mercy" -- Skip Duffy? Have Mercy!

+ Estelle, "American Boy" -- We're likin' this British import so much we wanna claim her as our own.

+ Solange, "I Decided" -- We decided we're absolutely, undeniably obsessed with Beyonce's sassy little sister.

Beyonce may have been the one to coin the term "Booytlicious" but she's definitely not the only Knowles it applies to. Recently, B's younger sis, Solange, showed up to an MTV photo shoot wearing what photog Candice Lawler could only describe as a "full-on, up-to-the-knee, moon boot!" (In case you forgot, Solange "kicked" off her U.S. tour earlier this month by breaking her foot!) Fortunately for Candice, Solange was willing to ditch the heavy footwear long enough to don a pair of ace bandage-like strappy sandals, strap on a smile and twirl around in her "favorite" little black dress...all while (somehow!) making it look effortless. Looks like big sis isn't the only one who's a "Survivor."

+ Meanwhile, broken foot? What broken foot?? The last time we caught up with Solange, she was far too busy rocking 4-inch heels and philosophizing about Cee-Lo Green to complain about, well, anything. Check out our exclusive interview here, and click here for more pics of Solange, sans boot.
