Hot Chelle Rae is a people-pleasing endeavor so enamored with their female fans that they named their band after two of them. They're a Nashville quartet --  led by singer Ryan Keith Follese -- that make populist pop-rock with pristine production values and combine dance-y, sultry modern rock of The Cab and The Killers with the wide-screen production of bands like Queen or Journey.

Tracks like "I Like To Dance" (listen to it on their MySpace) are a perfect example of their appeal; raunchy guitars, huger-than-huge drums, even bigger chorus and come-on-lets-do-it-already lyrics. It ain't hard to see what Stephanie Pratt sees in them. Or what they see in Stephanie -- she makes a cameo in the video for "I Like To Dance."

Stay tuned for Hot Chelle Rae's Lovesick Electric, which hits stores Tuesday, Oct. 27!

Virginia indie-pop band My Favorite Highway made a name for itself without a label push -- a name as in 100,000-plus in digital sales -- and while a record deal is usually the pot o' gold, it's nice to know you can make it without them.

That's not to say the gigs always flowed freely for this crew; they still recall playing venues in meth lab-ville. But come on -- that just indicates a band with the ultimate band experience -- and is part of why My Favorite Highway is totally Buzzworthy Obsession-worthy. (And I swear I won't just talk about the hot drummer ... although I am following his Twitter now.)

If the self-made story's not enough for you, know that the debut video from My Favorite Highway, "Say So," is a tribute to Ferris Bueller's Day Off -- which sold me faster than you can say "Rooney!"

I also love "Say So" because it's the ultimate in solid melody-writing: With clear vox from lead singer David Cook (uh, yeah... I'm not saying he should have changed his name, but I wonder if he voted for Archuleta...), listening to "Say So" is just a sing-along, top-down good time.

And yes, this video and My Favorite Highway's album, How to Call a Bluff , have some extra shekels thanks to backing by Virgin Records, but the new record's not all that different than the one the boys self-released in July 2008. There was a little re-mastering involved, and the addition of two new songs "Go" and "Dreamer," but David's songwriting got play on The Hills and The City on its own merits.

And no more meth den appearances for this crew! The guys are currently touring with The Cab and will team up with HelloGoodbye in August. My Favorite Highway also recently confirmed a few opening dates in September with one, Kelly Clarkson. Sweet!

For a one-man band, The Secret Handshake sure manages to make a lot of noise. He's productive, too! Luis Dubuc's electro-pop bedroom project, which matches energy with the likes of Cobra Starship, Hellogoodbye and Boys Like Girls, is also responsible for two full-length albums, two EPs, and a mixtape.

His massive sound and output have landed The Secret Handshake multiple record deals, enviable Billboard chart positions, and an opening spot on tour with The Cab this summer.

In the brand-new video for "All For You," Dubuc and his touring band lead costumed revelers in off-the-wall house party action. Between performance clips, Dubuc spends some quality time dancing through town with a little girl and her pink umbrella (who kinda looks like Lady Sovereign). See if you can figure out what they're up to in the "All For You" video below!

Personas are important, but they're distracting. I'm thinking of Pink, in particular, who has done so much to define herself as a wild-haired rocker bad-ass, that it's easy to totally overlook the fact that she's also super talented. In other words, it can be hard to hear -- over all the hollering and snarling she's rightfully famous for -- that Pink can sing like nobody's business.

Butch Walker looks real tough, too, but he's another story altogether. He's been chipping away at the music industry since the mid '80s, working as a songwriter, producer and a member of several successful bands. He's played pop metal, glam, and straight up rock with bands like SouthGang and Marvelous 3, never restricting himself to any particular genre. Between gigs he's made records for artists as diverse as Avril Lavigne, Lindsay Lohan, Hot Hot Heat, Pete Yorn, The Academy Is..., The Cab and, wouldn't you know it, Pink.

Outside of the studio, Butch and Pink (who share a motorcycle obsession, among other things) have been drinking buddies for ages. He played her "Here Comes The..." way back, when he first wrote it, and she was instantly smitten. Told Butch that if and when he ever recorded it, she wanted to take care of the harmonies for him. When the time came, that's exactly what she did.

In his latest effort, a solo stint that's produced a record called Sycamore Meadows, Butch Walker plays boozy, drawling rock, true to his Georgia roots. "Here Comes The...," the album's second single, is a rollicking bar room reel. And, although Pink doesn't appear in the hilariously weird mannequin-love video below, she carries the tune with backing vocals that ooze old-country soul. By checking her persona at the door, Pink lets previously overshadowed talent shine through, possibly ushering in a new direction for her music and a more solid identity for Butch Walker's.

Anarbor's first show went down at a roller rink in sixth grade. They got twenty bucks for it, bought a pizza and brought it over to Mike's house for a pool party. They were 13. As they'll tell you in a few minutes, old buddies Mike, Slade, Adam and Greg have had Anarbor longer than they've had pubes. Can we say pubes? Hmm. Too late.

Criss-crossing the country as we speak, playing with Forgive Durden, then The Cab, and finally with the raggedy cast of the Vans Warped Tour, these Phoenix-raised hooligans have come a long way since Skateland. On the strength of tight, thumping singles like "Let The Games Begin" and "The Brightest Green," Anarbor have quickly propelled themselves upward through the pop-punk minor leagues.

In the exclusive MTV Buzzworthy interview below, discover what secret edge Anarbor has on all other bands -- not to mention all other people -- and learn what unexpected obsession gets them so wound up that they lisp. Here's a clue: They're bomb at hackysack.

+ Watch Anarbor on "The 5" and kick it with them this summer on the Warped Tour.

Alex Greenwald -- Phantom Planet frontman, Mark Ronson collaborator, and former model -- used to be so freaking hot it was almost impossible to look at him without thinking "nasty thoughts," as Janet Jackson once said. But not long ago, a paparazzi photo popped up in which the once-smokin' Alex looked like a straight-up hobo. Still, who'd he have hanging on his arm? British supermodel and Met Ball belle Agyness Deyn.

While we've got no problem with some slight shagginess, Alex Greenwald has seen better days, and his unkempt hair looks gnarlier than ever. (A tip: lather, rinse, repeat... repeat... repeat...) Still, Alex bagged a supermodel, so maybe the joke's on us.

Anyway, the shaggy/smoldering combo of Alex Greenwald and Agyness Deyn reminded us of some more hot chicks and the mangy men they love. So check out more of Buzzworthy's favorite guys who look like they live in boxcars and the beautiful babes who love them anyway.

Ryan Adams: Alt-country musician Ryan Adams won the heart of pop-folk singer Mandy Moore, who's had high-profile romances with tennis hunk Andy Roddick as well as Wilmer Valderrama and Zach Braff, while Ryan dated pretty Parker Posey. But it was ultra-shaggy Ryan who swept Mandy off her feet: Ryan and Mandy got married just last month. Hopefully the groom, uh, groomed for the big day.

Alex DeLeon: Okay, Alex DeLeon -- who's been linked to the radiant Demi Lovato -- used to be way more polished, but when he came to MTV for The Cab's Buzzworthy interview in March 2009, his broken-ended hair, fuzzy facial hair and leather accessories kinda made him look like he was running from the law. Bring back unquestionably hot Alex!

Ben Gibbard: Indie superstar Ben Gibbard's sensitive vocals are the perfect match for Zooey Deschanel. Zooey, dubbed "the rich man's Katy Perry" -- oh snap! -- by one site, has had leading roles in a slew of movies like Elf, where she showed off her vocal cords and her adorablility. Even though the oft-unshaven Ben's been featured on UglyMales.com (to the objection of many commenters, to be fair), he and Zooey matched up not only musically, but they're also engaged. Aww! Indie romance!

Joe Trohman: It's clear that Pete Wentz-ian man-glam is not Joe Trohman's style. But there are other ways to stand out besides looking like a homeless man who wandered off the street and onto the stage. His disheveled, mountain-man look has still been described as "wonderfully hobo-esque meets Jesus." True! We're not saying Joe's not hot. We just miss his From Under The Cork Tree-era/ "Dance Dance" short hair. Still, he nabbed a super-cute girl and put a ring on dat; he and Marie (above) are engaged.

+ More hobo guys and hot girls after the jump.

Hey Monday left for tour! Hey Monday brought a camera! Hey Monday taped their lives on the road, in the tour bus, and all the suburban mall stops and golf carts along the way on the Believers Never Die Part Deux tour and Bamboozle Left. Then Hey Monday almost got "arrested" by a Paul Blart type (really a member of The Cab in disguise?) And Hey Monday sent us the tape!

Watch Hey Monday's behind-the-scenes tour footage -- SOMEONE get Cassadee a Throat Coat sponsorship, pronto -- and get tickets to see Hey Monday, Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship, All Time Low, and Metro Station at the mtvU Music & Movies Festival.

Don't be fooled by the exclamation point, the quirky spelling, or the Rod Stewart haircut. Never Shout Never, aka Christofer Drew, isn't the next electrified Cali-punk neon band. His songs are constructed of the same chords and patterns as your usual Warped Tour fare, but Ingle strums many of them on a ukulele, often with very little accompaniment. And while he does have some faster songs, Never Shout Never sounds more like a folk-pop troubadour than a pop-punk troublemaker.

Of course that hasn't stopped Missouri-native Ingle from filling out bills with The Honorary Title, Forever The Sickest Kids, The Cab and Mercy Mercedes. Whether it's those connections or his irresistible heartsick yodel that won him a coveted slot at two of this year's Bamboozles, I can't say. But I can say that 2009 is gonna be a major year for this quirky up-and-comer.

Watch Never Shout Never's "Bigcitydreams" video below, and get acquainted with the most charming folk-popper on the punk circuit.

I asked you to send me your questions for The Cab. Then I asked The Cab, and ye, verily, they answered. And their answers -- which range from killer robots and Star Wars to pancakes and Meatloaf (the guy) -- may surprise you. Also, somehow Something Corporate and Paul Blart: Mall Cop made their way into the Buzzworthy interview too.

Watch The Cab answer your Buzzworthy blog fan questions now.

PS: Yes, that's a framed photo of Bayside above the couch.

Earlier this week, the announcement that Hilary Duff will star in a remake of film classic Bonnie & Clyde, ruffled a lot of feathers and raised the argument anew that Hollywood is out of original ideas. The incredibly (i.e. accidentally) timely Mercy Mercedes offer an innovative solution in the form of their video for "The Perfect Scene." In it, the North Carolina pop-punkers borrow heavily from Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but instead of ripping off the '80s John Hughes classic line for line, they combine it with elements of other movies, like Back To The Future and Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. Take note, Hollywood! Instead of boring us with a live-action remake of All Dogs Go To Heaven, why not get out of the box with something more along the lines of 10 Things I Hate About The Fact That I Can't Hardly Wait, or The Breakfast Club At Tiffany's? THINK ABOUT IT. Watch Mercy Mercedes now. Look for them on the Bamboozle Road Show with We The Kings, Forever The Sickest Kids, The Cab and many others in a couple months!
