A little while back, in our roundup of the recent goings on with the Decaydance Records stable, we mentioned the new Panic! At The Disco single, "The Ballad Of Mona Lisa." But we really thought that such a momentous occasion as the return of Panic!, albeit with a different lineup, is worthy of its own post.

"The Ballad Of Mona Lisa" is the lead single off of P!ATD's upcoming Vices & Virtues album, due out March 29. Vices will be the first Panic! album released since Ryan Ross and Jon Walker departed from the band to form Young Veins, leaving Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith to carry on under the P!ATD flag. Word around the campfire was their departure was due to those ol' creative differences, with Urie and Smith wanting to explore the polished pop side of things while Ross and Walker leaned toward classic rock.

And "The Ballad Of Mona Lisa" is certainly polished. Perfectly polished, actually. It's also arena-ready, with a pounding beat and a chorus of "whoa-oh's." It's like a louder, more hook-filled version of the sound the band had on A Fever You Can't Sweat Out.

The Young Veins continue on their '60s beach pop bend in their brand-new video, "Take A Vacation," the title track off their debut album. Quirky, mod camera work nods to the Richard Lester-era Beatles' films, right down to the hazy surf shots, retro Korgs, John Lennon Revolution guitars, Polaroids, hard-shell suitcases, sets that look like the Monkees just moved out, occasional pops of Technicolor, and complementary suits and ties.

The Super-8-style video dovetails nicely and nostalgically with the song's lush Beach Boys- and Zombies-leaning harmonies. It's like looking back in time through a View-Master, and it's the perfect way to end summer--on a Young Veins vintage vacation.

I'd like to dramatically doff my cap to The Young Veins and their video for "Change." A while back we did a little roundup of videos that pay homage to olde-timey TV shows, but I don't think I've ever seen a clip that gets it so right.

"Change" finds Ryan Ross and Jon Walker continuing with the '60s fetish that first appeared when they were still members of Panic! At The Disco. Like Nirvana's "In Bloom" clip, it's an homage to The Beatles' legendary appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show."

The difference is in the details. From the slow raising of the lights, the film stock to the static movements of the band members themselves, everything is perfect. Heck, The Young Veins even sound like they're from the '60s.

It's not the first time this modern band has indulged in some nostalgia. The group is heavily indebted to The Beach Boys for its Take A Vacation album artwork.

Check out the video below. Take A Vacation is out now.

We don't know about you, but our favorite episode of "The O.C." is definitely "The Third Wheel," where the entire Newport gang goes gaga over the band Rooney. (R.I.P Soap Net AND Marissa Cooper!)

Sure, we never really believed anyone except Seth Cohen would actually like a band as awesome as Rooney, but we were stoked for the L.A. group to get some well-deserved attention. Six years later, Rooney is still stealing the spotlight with its latest album, Eureka, and an upcoming summer tour with The Young Veins and Black Gold.

Lucky for us, we were able to grab a couple minutes with three-fourths of Rooney to talk about the perils of illegal downloading, high-school passions and those pesky rumors about Rooney making an appearance in Sofia Coppola's upcoming film, "Somewhere." Plus, watch for a special appearance by the Double Down, and see what influence peeing in Robert Schwartzman's yard had on making Rooney's new album, Eureka.

Watch our exclusive sit-down with the guys from Rooney, below and then check out Rooney's new "I Can't Get Enough" video, off its new album Eureka, out now.

Get your frequent-flier miles ready, because The Young Veins have just released the artwork for their debut album, "Take A Vacation!" It hits June 8. I don't know about you, but the cover makes me want to climb a mountain, swim in the ocean or listen to some Beach Boys albums -- like the "All Summer Long" album below, perhaps.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan Ross & Co. picked up some of their retro gear at Brian Wilson's last garage sale. Hell, it's not like any of the Beach Boys can fit into size 28 pants anymore. One musician's trash is another musician's treasure.

+ Now go watch two classic Beach Boys videos -- "In My Room" and "Sloop John B."

When guitarist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker parted ways with Panic! At The Disco last year, fans cried, banks closed and flags waved at half-mast. Okay, that's not entirely true, but fans were definitely shocked and bummed -- but not for long, especially when Ross and Walker announced they would soldier on with a new musical project called The Young Veins.

Although the band's debut album won't be released until June, fans can hear what to expect from the retro rock group by listening to the song "Change," which is being offered as a free download today on the band's official Web site. (That's free as in ... "for no money!")

The Young Veins are currently on tour with theatrical rockers -- and recent "Buzz On" artist -- Foxy Shazam. To see a list of tour dates and download the song "Change," head over to The Young Veins' official Web site. The band's debut album comes out June 6.

After a revealing interview with Spin.com in February, Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump admitted that he was "not in Fall Out Boy right now," which cause a lot of Overcast Kids to break out their From Under The Cork Tree CDs and prepare for a good cry-fest.

While the status of the band is questionable — even bassist Pete Wentz took to his Web site to announce "i dont [sic] know the future of fall out boy" — one thing is certain: Stump is far from retiring from music. In fact, he's just getting started.

The "Dance, Dance" singer is gearing up to release his first funk-tastic solo album and, to celebrate, will be debuting music from it at this year's SXSW Music Conference. Stump will be performing Friday, March 19, at 11 p.m. at the Dirty Dog Bar in Austin, Texas. According to the conference schedule, Stump will be playing alongside The Young Veins (the new rock outfit from former Panic! At The Disco members Ryan Ross and Jon Walker) and Hole. Crazybrains! For those planning on heading out, I expect a full report!

In the meantime, check out the video below for a taste of what to expect, musically, from a newly svelt Patrick Vaughn Stump.
