While she may have been born in Barbados, Rihanna was an American Girl (tip of the hat to Tom Petty) last night in Los Angeles. The recently single, ravishing redhead was spending a night at the Staples Center to watch Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat take on young superstar Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers </sports talk>.

At this point, every time I see Rihanna, I'm like this:

Whether she's wearing some outlandish, slapdash outfit that looks pilfered from the back of M.I.A.'s closet or some kind of severe militaristic ensemble like she was rocking during the Rated R days, she always looks good.

But above might be my favorite version of Rihanna: faded tee, smile on her face, kicking it at a basketball game. A gal after our own hearts, right?

Maybe she has a smile on her face because another wave of all-Rihanna everything is about to hit our shores. In the coming weeks and months, expect to see Rihanna in Kanye West's "All Of The Lights" video, Nicki Minaj's "Fly" video and, likely, a video of her own for her recent album Loud's third single, "S&M." Plus, she's launching her own perfume. More Rihanna? OK.

The Jonas Brothers are actually aging rather gracefully. It doesn't happen to a lot of child superstars, whether they work on screen or in the recording studio, but Kevin, Nick and Joe seem to be the exception that proves the rule. If anything, they've become more and more themselves as the years have gone on, shrugging off the Disney pop star exterior to reveal a trio of pretty normal young guys who lead anything but normal lives.

Buzzworthy's Best of the Jonas Brothers photo gallery charts that transformation. From their early days as irrepressible teen stars to the current, young men with lots on their professional and personal plates.

One thing you'll see a lot of in the gallery is many hairstyles: In the above shot with fellow Disney star Miley Cyrus, Joe seems to be rocking some kind of proto-Justin Bieber mop top. And check out Kevin's brief dalliance with spikes below.

You'll also see Nick's "Tom Petty in 'Running Down A Dream' " phase, where we find the youngest Jonas rocking a top hat!

LOL at 2007. So far away, yet so close. You're definitely going to want to check out the entire gallery for the hairstyles, head wear and nostalgia or years only recently gone by.

There are a couple of things worth pointing out about this photo of John Mayer performing live this morning on the "Today" show. Let's go over them.

1. John Mayer's "O" face. I mean ...

2. John Mayer's pants. Is that AARP for J. Crew?

3. John Mayer's bass player. Maybe he designed the pants too?

4. John Mayer's sax player. a) He looks like Eric from "True Blood," b) John Mayer has a sax player!

5. Both of those dudes have looks on their faces that seem to express a real bewilderment as to how they arrived at the point in their lives where they were sharing the stage with a guy ripping off guitar solos while he looks like he just stumbled out of a shuffleboard tournament.

All that being said? Never change, John Mayer. Never change.

Kevin Rudolf is pretty much a one-man anthem factory. Whether he's writing and producing them for the likes of Lifehouse, Cobra Starship, Selena Gomez or Lil Wayne, or making them himself, as a solo artist with hits like "I Made It," the Cash Money rocker is pretty much an authority on the kind of songs that make you want to roll the window down and sing at the top of your lungs.

Because Rudolf is already an expert on the subject -- and given his new album, To The Sky, drops today -- we couldn't think of anyone better to give us their top 5 favorite summer anthems. Take it away, Kev:

1. LL Cool J "Around The Way Girl" -- Best New York City summertime video ever! LL walks up to random girls all over the streets of New York with a video camera.

2. Tom Petty "Free Fallin' " -- It's one of those universal summer songs you have to love.

3. Cobra Starship, "Good Girls Go Bad" -- I produced and co-wrote this with the guys, and we had a lot of fun on this one.

4. Jackson Browne, "Somebody's Baby" -- "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." Best summer movie of all time. Need I say more?

5. Kanye West, "Good Life" -- I loved this song from the first time I heard it. It has a real feel good summer vibe. It has one of my favorite lines in it ever - "money ain't everything that not having it is."

+ If things have been feeling too vegetarian around these parts, that's all about to change with news of some USDA-approved, pop-star beef. Yep, it appears Ke$ha has a bone to pick with fellow platinum-haired — and platinum-selling — singer Britney Spears. Ke$ha recently opened up to the Scottish Daily Record decrying the act of lip-synching during live shows, something Spears has often been accused of. "It's treating people as if they are too stupid to realize you are not actually singing." Shots. Fired. (E! Online)

+ I suppose you don't become someone as revered as Lady Gaga if you're overly concerned with what people think of you, right? Wrong. It appears all her brazen individuality hasn't won Gaga many friends in the music biz. Lady told British chat-show host Jonathan Ross, "I'm an outcast from the music industry. ... I don't have any friends in the music business." Aww! We'll be your friend, Gaga! (MTV News)

+ What kind of ride will Justin Bieber be sporting now that he's 16? After all, Diddy's did promise the little dude a Lamborghini for his birthday. Or did he? "[Diddy] said when I turn 16, he was going to give me his Lamborghini. ... But we all know Diddy's not gonna give me his Lamborghini. He's all talk." Somehow, I think Bieber will wind up with wheels despite Diddy's welshing. (Limelife)

+ With all the talk about Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland and, perhaps more important, Almost Alice, the collection of songs inspired by the movie, Spinner has put together a collection of Alice-themed musical moments from the likes of Jefferson Airplane, Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks and more. (Spinner)

+ Not only is Ryan Tedder and OneRepublic hard at work on the band's new album, Waking Up, but Tedder is also working on an original song that will be featured in the upcoming season of Glee. Find out all about what the "Apologize" songwriter is up to in this Idolator video postcard. (Idolator)

Vampire Weekend have quickly gotten to be such a big deal that you need a three-day pass and binoculars to see them. The calypso-grooving Columbia grads' summer plans include All Points West, Lollapalooza and Ibiza Rocks. That's why last night's Happy Ending performance at Joe's Pub was a serious can't-miss.

Vampire Weekend accompanied three authors -- Wells Tower, John Wray and Arthur Phillips -- all of whom read from their work. John Wray, who wrote a novel called Lowboy about a sixteen-year old paranoid schizophrenic who believes that only he can save the world, was the most Buzzworthy of the bunch, if that makes sense.

Exciting as all that was, the night's highlights all came from Vampire Weekend, who tweaked their big singles ("Oxford Comma," "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa," etc.) just enough to make them sound totally new. The theme of the event was "risks," and VW took a major one by closing with a cover of Tom Petty's "Walls," sung over a wide-smiling piano riff borrowed from Arcade Fire's "Tunnels." It paid off big time. By the first chorus, the whole place was singing along.

Wish you coulda been there. Maybe you would've gotten nicer photos than I did :-/. Next time! Watch Vampire Weekend's "Mansard Roof" below and get a better look at a great night, after the jump.

Dear Miley Cyrus' Hackers,

Oy.

First you bust into Miley's Sidekick (those shower pix were SUPPOSED to be for Nick Jonas' eyez ONLY!), and now last weekend ur gettin' all haxx0rD with her Miley and Mandy YouTube page?

You guys need a new hobby... for realsies.

I mean, it's obviously no easy task being an international tween superstar, competing in dance-offs, and entertaining the first children (or not?). Now Miley's gotta keep all her laptops, cell phones, and BlackBerries and such under lock and key? Why you gotta keep gettin' all up in Miley's personal biznass and other semi-private pursuits?

Sheesh.

I was pondering just this little mindbender when I realized -- oh, snap! -- Tom Petty has sooo already covered this ground!

Holy. Vintage. Video: Tom totally sums up the why-me sentiment best with "You Don't Know How It Feels." Also, dude won a Best Male Rock Performance Grammy for this jammy back in 1995 (when Miley was just 3!), so clearly I'm not the only one who foresaw its relevance to Miley's life.

Anyway, hackers: listen up. Put yourself in Miley's ballet flats because this one's 4 u. (Als0, y0u suck).

xoxo,
Buzzworthy
