Obsessively blogging about pop music, pop videos, pop stars, and pop culture from inside the MTV headquarters in Times Square. We also have a slight Jonas Brothers problem. And a little fixation with Tokio Hotel.
Anarbor's first show went down at a roller rink in sixth grade. They got twenty bucks for it, bought a pizza and brought it over to Mike's house for a pool party. They were 13. As they'll tell you in a few minutes, old buddies Mike, Slade, Adam and Greg have had Anarbor longer than they've had pubes. Can we say pubes? Hmm. Too late.
Criss-crossing the country as we speak, playing with Forgive Durden, then The Cab, and finally with the raggedy cast of the Vans Warped Tour, these Phoenix-raised hooligans have come a long way since Skateland. On the strength of tight, thumping singles like "Let The Games Begin" and "The Brightest Green," Anarbor have quickly propelled themselves upward through the pop-punk minor leagues.
In the exclusive MTV Buzzworthy interview below, discover what secret edge Anarbor has on all other bands -- not to mention all other people -- and learn what unexpected obsession gets them so wound up that they lisp. Here's a clue: They're bomb at hackysack.
+ Watch Anarbor on "The 5" and kick it with them this summer on the Warped Tour.
++ UPDATE: Your fan questions have been submitted! Yay! ++
With their third studio album, Here, Here, And Here, now officially OUT, Meg & Dia (Buzzworthy's OTHER favorite sister set besides the Veronicas... our favorite brothers being the Kaulitzes, of course) COULD take a break before they head out on Warped Tour this summer. I mean they totally deserve a break after writing like EVERY word of Here, Here, And Here, producing much of the album, mastering GarageBand, and STILL having the BRAINS to turn their album title into a Mozart reference.
But noooooooooooh. Meg & Dia are total effing workaholics, obviously, because while normal people (me) might be slacking, they're taking the time out to answer your Buzzworthy fan questions.
So, what do you want to ask Meg & Dia? Now's your chance! Leave your questions in the comments below, and Meg & Dia will answer them soon, mkay?
The cops are after A Day To Remember, and if that's not enough to make you wanna listen to them, then how in the world is Pete Doherty so famous? Because Babyshambles is really good? Errrm...
Based out of Ocala, Florida, A Day To Remember play a mash of metal, hardcore, emo and whatever else you got. They call it "pop mosh." Catchy, eh? They built their traveling riot from the ground up, financing their first EP themselves, grabbing strangers by their collars and screaming in their faces until those strangers became fans. Now they're on the road with The Devil Wears Prada and Sky Eats Airplane, among many others, gearing up for a summer on the Warped Tour.
In the brand-new video for "The Downfall Of Us All," A Day To Remember rub a squad of om-nomming donut-loving cops the wrong way and spend a good chunk of the video running their asses off. See how it all goes down -- so conveniently! -- right here:
Okay, boys (and girls). Your wildest Katy Perry dreams are about to come true -- we've got exclusive video of Katy Perry topless. Check it out, and check out Keep-A-Breast, the charity she's stripping down for.
A Cursive Memory's Colin and Mark venture into bucolic unchartered territories -- or, Canada, as it's known to the 33.3 million people who live there -- show you a clip from their Detroit show, where their bodyguard did the booty shake on stage, and invite you to discuss sharks with them if you're at their next Warped Tour shows in the New York area.
Watch their first of what we wish were hourly tour diaries from A Cursive Memory, the band that invented Bandarazzi. And check out our exclusive interview with ACM, who answered all of our questions about shooting "Everything."
Katy Perry packed her bags with what we can only imagine are super cute vintage frocks and perfectly mismatched heels and headed out on Warped Tour, but she's keeping us updated with weekly video updates.
In her first tour diary, she hits the beach, and while we can't tell what kind of bathing suit she's got on -- she's buried up to her neck in sand -- we're pos it's one of those Esther Williams/ Roy Lichtenstein "Girl with Ball"-style polka-dotted maillots. Come on in! The water's great!
Watch the video below, stay tuned for more Katy Perry updates from Warped Tour, and don't miss her performance tonight on FNMTV.
Beating people up at your shows is the new getting pregnant and denying it! Gym Class Heroes lead singer Travis McCoy was arrested and released on bond last night at the band's Warped Tour performance in Missouri after he BROKE A MICROPHONE over some dude's head after said dude called him the N-word. Now listen, we here at Buzzworthy so ABSOLUTELY DO NOT advocate the use of force or violence, but COME ON... drop terminology like that, and there's a decent chance you're gonna get yourself popped. Ironically, the whole thing went down after Gym Class performed "Peace Sign." (More at Rolling Stone.)
+ Theresa Andersson: Swedish artist Theresa Andersson is already racking up fans on YouTube with the sunny, '60s-soaked sophisti-pop sounds she recorded in her kitchen. And because she's an overachiever, she hand-crafted 1,500 individual CD jackets for her I the River EP.
+ Defy Tomorrow: Mike Oliver and Marissa Mishelle trade speedy rock licks, angst-driven lyrics and possibly hair products in the vein of Paramore. Catch them this summer on the Warped Tour, and catch Marissa on Exiled this August, when bratty My Super Sweet 16ers you love to hate (and love to watch) go to far-away places where they don't even accept platinum cards!!
Charlotte (born Jessica Charlotte Poland) just released her debut album, Waves & the Both of Us, flanked by her first single, "How I Could Just Kill a Man," inspired (clearly) by a this-one's-for-the-books bad breakup and the Cypress Hill song of the same name. (Seriously.)
